We have found that it is possible to preserve the temporal waveform of the reflected wave generated from stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) by using a prepulse technique. The waveform of the SBS wave usually shows a steep rising edge in the ordinary SBS process. It has been found that the waveform of the reflected wave depends on both the prepulse energy and the time delay between the main pulse and the prepulses. A prepulse energy of 5 mJ and a time delay of 5 ns have been measured to be the optimum values under the experimental conditions. This prepulse method is useful in developing a multistage system employing several SBS cells in series for high-power laser applications. 相似文献

Titania-doped silica fibers were prepared by electrospinning of the sol of silica containing titania. The electrospun fibers had ribbon type morphology. The fibers had significant quantities of hydroxyl groups of Si—OH and Ti—OH. The fibers did not have crystalline structure. Diameters of the fibers were reduced by solvent evaporation and calcination. The hydroxyl groups on the fibers disappeared by calcination. The hydroxyl groups, M—OH (MSi, Ti) were changed to M—O—M by intermolecular and intramolecular condensation reactions. 相似文献

Amorphous silicon quantum dots (a-Si QDs) were grown in a silicon nitride film by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. Transmission electron micrographs clearly demonstrated that a-Si QDs were formed in the silicon nitride. Photoluminescence and optical absorption energy measurement of a-Si QDs with various sizes revealed that tuning of the photoluminescence emission from 2.0 to 2.76 eV is possible by controlling the size of the a-Si QD. Analysis also showed that the photoluminescence peak energy E was related to the size of the a-Si QD, a (nm) by E(eV) = 1.56+2.40/a(2), which is a clear evidence for the quantum confinement effect in a-Si QDs. 相似文献

We report a strongly nonlinear pressure dependence of the band gaps and large downward shifts of the conduction band edges as functions of composition in ZnS xTe (1-x) and ZnSe (y)Te (1-y) alloys. The dependencies are explained by an interaction between localized A1 symmetry states of S or Se atoms and the extended states of the ZnTe matrix. These results, combined with previous studies of III-N-V materials define a new, broad class of semiconductor alloys in which the introduction of highly electronegative atoms leads to dramatic modifications of the conduction band structure. We studied the magnetic and noise properties with various soft underlayer (SUL) types. For an as-deposited SUL, the results of spectrum, oscilloscope waveform and MFM indicated that the SUL types with IrMn pinning layer have more noise level than that of SUL types without IrMn pinning layer. And, after magnetic filed annealing along radial direction of disk, the exchange bias field increased and the noise level of type B (exchange bias type) decreased. These results reveal that incomplete or partial coupling may be generated at the interface between IrMn and ferromagnetic layer in as-deposited SUL. This incomplete coupling may result in complex or multidomain patterns in ferromagnetic layer. 相似文献

This paper suggests a valuation framework for an investment project through the concept of real options. Generally, in real asset world, decision time and its payment time are not identical. This so-called investment lag problem should be considered when valuing real assets. When investment lags exist, firms’ accommodation capacities play important roles. In this paper, the real effect of investment lag on investment value is tested upon various conditions. We show the valuation process of real assets under the risk-neutral world. Organic solvent- and detergent-resistant proteases are important from an industrial viewpoint. However, they have been less
frequently reported and only few of them are from actinomycetes. A metalloprotease from Streptomyces olivochromogenes (SOMP) was purified by ion exchange with Poros HQ and gel filtration with Sepharose CL-6B. Apparent molecular mass of the
enzyme was estimated to be 51 kDa by sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and gelatin zymography. The
activity was optimum at pH 7.5 and 50 °C and stable between pH 7.0 and 10.0. SOMP was stable below 45 °C and Ca2+ increased its thermostability. Ca2+ enhanced while Co2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, and Fe2+ inhibited the activity. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and ethylene glycol-bis (β-aminoethyl ether)-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid, but not phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride, aprotinin, and pefabloc SC, significantly suppressed the activity,
suggesting that it might be a metalloprotease. Importantly, it is highly resistant against various detergents, organic solvents,
and oxidizing agents, and the activity is enhanced by H2O2. The enzyme could be a novel protease based on its origin and peculiar biochemical properties. It may be useful in biotechnological
