Ginkgo biloba is one of the most popular herbal nutritional supplements, with terpene lactones and flavonoids being the two major active components. An on-line purification high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) method was successfully developed for the quantitative determination of flavonoids and terpene lactones excreted in human urine after ingesting the herbal supplement. Satisfactory separation was obtained using a C18 capillary column made in-house with sample clean-up and pre-concentration achieved using a C18 pre-column with column switching. High selectivity and limits of detection of 1-18 ng/mL were achieved using a selected ion monitoring (SIM) scan in negative ion mode; the on-line solid-phase extraction (SPE) recovery of the active components in Ginkgo biloba determined in this study was greater than 75%.  相似文献

Let σ be a directed cycle whose edges have each been assigned a desired direction in 3D (East, West, North, South, Up, or Down) but no length. We say that σ is a shape cycle. We consider the following problem. Does there exist an orthogonal representation Γ of σ in 3D space such that no two edges of Γ intersect except at common endpoints and such that each edge of Γ has the direction specified in σ? If the answer is positive, we say that σ is simple. This problem arises in the context of extending orthogonal graph drawing techniques from 2D to 3D. We give a combinatorial characterization of simple shape cycles that yields linear time recognition and drawing algorithms.  相似文献

Background  

Taste receptor cells are responsible for transducing chemical stimuli into electrical signals that lead to the sense of taste. An important second messenger in taste transduction is IP3, which is involved in both bitter and sweet transduction pathways. Several components of the bitter transduction pathway have been identified, including the T2R/TRB taste receptors, phospholipase C β2, and the G protein subunits α-gustducin, β3, and γ13. However, the identity of the IP3 receptor subtype in this pathway is not known. In the present study we used immunocytochemistry on rodent taste tissue to identify the IP3 receptors expressed in taste cells and to examine taste bud expression patterns for IP3R3.  相似文献

We consider a ring of identical neurons with delayed nearest neighborhood inhibitory interaction. Under general conditions, such a network has a slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution which is completely characterized by a scalar delay differential equation with negative feedback. Despite the fact that the slowly oscillatory periodic solution of the scalar equation is stable, we show that the associated synchronous solution is unstable if the size of the network is large.

Abstract

Although potentially extremely important for understanding the high-pressure microscopic behaviour of materials, over the years the area of high-pressure EXAFS in particular using diamond anvil cells has proved to be technically difficult. This has significantly hampered its development. The interference of X-ray dimaction from the diamonds in the diamond anvil cell with the absorption signal has proved to be a challenging problem to tackle, restricting the use of high-pressure EXAFS to energies below about 11 key Below 11 keV however the technique is also limited due to absorption of incident X-rays by the diamonds making it virtually impossible to conduct X-ray absorption experiments below about 9keV In this paper we describe in detail the methodology for scanriirig high-pressure EXAFS in diamond anvil cells and examine the origins of the associated problems and ways of dealing with them. We also demonstrate that it is possible to extend the useful range of studied absorption edges from 7keV up to at least 30keV This brings about new opportunities for high pressure EXAFS using diamond anvil cells.  相似文献

This study is the first to use long-term average spectra (LTAS) to investigate resonance characteristics of dynamic speech in young adulthood and old age. A total of 80 speakers participated, divided equally by age group and gender. All elderly speakers were healthy, active members of the community. Measurement of the first three spectral peaks in LTAS from the first paragraph of the Rainbow Passage revealed significant lowering of peak 1 from young adulthood to old age in both men and women. Peaks 2 and 3 also lowered significantly across the adult lifespan in women and showed a tendency to lower in men. These acoustic findings are consistent with anatomic data suggesting that aging results in lengthening of the supraglottic vocal tract. Findings that women demonstrate more substantial lowering of spectral peaks with aging than men suggest that women may undergo more pronounced age-related lengthening of the supraglottic vocal tract. Alternatively, it is possible that elderly men systematically alter tongue position during vowel articulation while elderly women are less inclined to do so. Taken in conjunction with previous research, these findings suggest a "mixed model" of vocal tract resonance changes with aging in which an interaction exists between gender, the resonance effects of laryngeal lowering, and vowel articulatory patterns.  相似文献

This study is the first to investigate age-related changes in the source characteristics of dynamic speech using long-term average spectral analysis (LTAS). A total of 80 speakers divided equally by age and gender participated. All participants were healthy, active community members. From the first paragraph of the Rainbow Passage, spectral energy measurements were completed for all speakers at 50 frequency levels across the LTAS. In comparison with young women, elderly women demonstrated: (1) significantly higher spectral amplitude levels at the frequencies of 320, 6080, 6240, 6400, 6560, and 6720 Hz; (2) significantly lower levels at the frequencies of 3040 and 3200 Hz; and (3) a tendency toward higher levels at 160 Hz. These findings suggest that both young and elderly women demonstrate spectral features associated with breathy voice quality, while differing in the specific spectral regions in which breathiness is indicated. Elderly men demonstrated significantly higher spectral amplitude levels than young men at 160 Hz, as well as significantly lower levels at 1600 Hz. Findings for men provide acoustic support for previous laryngoscopic findings of an age-related increase in the incidence of glottal gaps.  相似文献

Carbon K‐edge X‐ray spectroscopy has been applied to the study of a wide range of organic samples, from polymers and coals to interstellar dust particles. Identification of carbonaceous materials within these samples is accomplished by the pattern of resonances in the 280–320 eV energy region. Carbonate minerals are often encountered in the study of natural samples, and have been identified by a distinctive resonance at 290.3 eV. Here C K‐edge and Ca L‐edge spectra from a range of carbonate minerals are presented. Although all carbonates exhibit a sharp 290 eV resonance, both the precise position of this resonance and the positions of other resonances vary among minerals. The relative strengths of the different carbonate resonances also vary with crystal orientation to the linearly polarized X‐ray beam. Intriguingly, several carbonate minerals also exhibit a strong 288.6 eV resonance, consistent with the position of a carbonyl resonance rather than carbonate. Calcite and aragonite, although indistinguishable spectrally at the C K‐edge, exhibited significantly different spectra at the Ca L‐edge. The distinctive spectral fingerprints of carbonates provide an identification tool, allowing for the examination of such processes as carbon sequestration in minerals, Mn substitution in marine calcium carbonates (dolomitization) and serpentinization of basalts.  相似文献

<正> 关于多分散性对丁基橡胶加工行为的影响,有人进行了研究,近年来人们对丁基橡胶的分子量分布与加工性能的研究,又有新的报道,结果表明,丁基橡胶的分子量分布对其加工时收缩变形有很大的影响,我们曾用过渡金属卤化物和卤代烷基铝-加氢汽油催化体系合成了丁基橡胶,但在加工时收缩率大和不均匀,我们利用高聚物沉淀分级原理,在烷烃溶剂中添加氯代烃(CH_2Cl_2,CH_3Cl),混合溶剂制备的丁基橡胶,其分子量分布及加工收缩性能比单用汽油溶剂时有显著改进,其综合性能基本上达到了Polvsar 301水平。  相似文献
