Study of feed temperature control of chromatography using computional fluid dynamics simulation

Recently preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) has been used more and more frequently to separate drugs and natural substances. However, large-scale HPLC easily tends to reduce the yield and purity of the product. Hydrodynamic and heat factors play an important roles. Generally, in a large-scale HPLC column, the tracer profile inside column will take on a parabolic shape because of the distributor, which will impact the separation performance of the column. With the inlet temperature suitably lower than the wall temperature, this situation could be improved to some extent. In this work, some experiments were conducted using HPLC, with a column 10 cm in diameter to determine the optimal temperature difference between wall and inlet temperatures. The wall temperature was fixed at about 30 degrees C and the inlet temperature varied from 15 to 30 degrees C. The flow-rate of the eluent, methanol, was 300 ml/min. The experimental result was simulated using CFD software FLUENT 4.4.4. The simulated temperature field fitted the experimental one very well and the simulated flow, temperature and tracer distribution inside column could provide good explanation of separation performance under different conditions. In addition, the simulation could at least approximately predict the optimal temperature difference.     

聚醚氨酯薄膜表面性质的反相色谱法研究

本文报道了用反相色谱法研究多嵌段聚醚氨酯与几种低分子化合物的相互作用,测定了表征相互作用的热力学参数。结果表明,由ESCA证明表面软段富集的聚醚氨酯的反相色谱行为主要决定于富集层与探针分子的相互作用;苯及几种烷烃和聚醚氨酯的偏摩尔混合热和它的溶度参数与软段组分的溶度参数差值有关。     

Controllable self-assembly of parallel gold nanorod clusters by DNA origami

We demonstrate the self-assembly of three types of parallel gold nanorod clusters using a rod-like DNA origami as the template.     

Novel solid-phase synthesis of 1,2-dialkoxyindoles

[reaction: see text] A novel solid-phase synthesis of 1,2-dialkoxyindoles on SynPhase lanterns is described. A unique C-C bond formation involving a nucleophilic displacement of a solid-bound aryl fluorine by dimethyl malonate afforded the arylnitro methyl ester, which upon treatment with tin(II) chloride dihydrate gave the N-hydroxyindolone. Alkylation of the N-hydroxyindolones afforded the corresponding N-hydroxy-2-alkoxyindoles, which were further alkylated to give the 1,2-dialkoxyindole. A library of 64 (8R(1) x 8R(2)) discrete 1,2-dialkoxyindoles was prepared using a color encoding technique on SynPhase A-series lanterns.     

A novel approach to carbon hollow spheres and vessels from CCl4 at low temperatures

Carbon hollow spheres (400-600 nm) and vessels (400 nm x 3000 nm) have been synthesized from sp3-CCl4 at 190 and 230 degrees C, respectively. The HRTEM images and Raman spectra reveal the sp2 nature of the as-obtained products, indicating that the transformation from carbon sp3 to sp2 occurs in the reactions. The possible mechanism has also been proposed.     

The Action of the Selenomorpholine Compounds on Escherichia coli Growth by Microcalorimetry

The action of three kinds of the selenomorpholine compounds on a strain ofEscherichia coli was studied by microcalorimetry. Differences in their capacities to affect the metabolism of this bacterium were observed. The extent and duration of the effect on the metabolism as judged from the rate constant (k) of Escherichia coli (in log phase) varied with the different drugs. The kinetics show that selenomorpholine compounds had an effect on the metabolism process of Escherichia coli. The k of Escherichia coli in the presence of the drugs increased with the increasing concentrations of the drugs (C) at low concentration; but at high concentration, the rate constant decreased with the increasing concentrations of the drugs. The experimental results reveal that the sequence of antibiotic activity of selenomorpholines is: N-selenomorpholinemethyl succinimide and its hydrochloride>N-(α-selenomorpholinebenzyl) succinimide. 反相离子对高效液相色谱法测定蔬菜中多菌灵残留量

建立了一种用HPLC测定蔬菜中多菌灵残留量的分析方法。样品中多菌灵经甲醇提取,在pH 1~2时用二氯甲烷液液净化,水相调至弱碱性,再用二氯甲烷提取,提取液经浓缩,癸烷磺酸钠离子对试剂处理后,用HPLC-DAD分离测定,外标法定量。对于50 g样品,定容至10 mL,进样量20μL,检出限为0.05mg/kg,样品回收率>80%,RSD<10%,能满足农药残留分析的要求。     

二羟基丙酮磷酸酯的合成

本文报道由3-氯-1,2-丙二醇(1)经七步反应,合成二羟基丙酮磷酸酯缩乙酮(7)的方法,总收率43%。在温和条件下,7可以水解为游离的二羟基丙酮磷酸酯(8)。     

Ab initio Valence Bond Study on AB-type Molecules,A Description for XH(X=L,Be,B,C,N,O,F) and XF(X=Li,Be,B)

Ab initio valence bond method is employed to quantitatively study the concepts of ionic resonance energy and ionicity of a chemical bond in the cases of hydrides XH(X=Li,Be,B,C,N,O,F) and fluorides XF(X=Li,Be,B),By establishing the relationship between resonance and stability,and comparing the calculated ionicities with Pauling‘s earlier estimations in the above diatomic molecules,the merits of Pauling‘s classical resonance theory were demonstrated at the ab initio level.
