Binuclear iron-sulfur complexes with bidentate phosphine ligands as active site models of Fe-hydrogenase and their catalytic proton reduction

The displacement of CO in a few simple Fe(I)-Fe(I) hydrogenase model complexes by bisphosphine ligands Ph2P-(CH2)n-PPh2 [with n = 1 (dppm) or n = 2 (dppe)] is described. The reaction of [{mu-(SCH2)2CH2}Fe2(CO)6] (1) and [{mu-(SCH2)2N(CH2CH2CH3)}Fe2(CO)6] (2) with dppe gave double butterfly complexes [{mu-(SCH2)2CH2}Fe2(CO)5(Ph2PCH2)]2 (3) and [{mu-(SCH2)2N(CH2CH2CH3)}Fe2(CO)5(Ph2PCH2)]2 (4), where two Fe2S2 units are linked by the bisphosphine. In addition, an unexpected byproduct, [{mu-(SCH2)2N(CH2CH2CH3)}Fe2(CO)5{Ph2PCH2CH2(Ph2PS)}] (5), was isolated when 2 was used as a substrate, where only one phosphorus atom of dppe is coordinated, while the other has been converted to P=S, presumably by nucleophilic attack on bridging sulfur. By contrast, the reaction of 1 and 2 with dppm under mild conditions gave only complexes [{mu-(SCH2)2CH2}Fe2(CO)5(Ph2PCH2PPh2)] (6) and [{mu-(SCH2)2N(CH2CH2CH3)}Fe2(CO)5(Ph2PCH2PPh2)] (8), where one ligand coordinated in a monodentate fashion to one Fe2S2 unit. Furthermore, under forcing conditions, the complexes [{mu-(SCH2)2CH2}Fe2(CO)4{mu-(Ph2P)2CH2}] (7) and [{mu-(SCH2)2N(CH2CH2CH3)}Fe2(CO)4{mu-(Ph2P)2CH2}] (9) were formed, where the phosphine acts as a bidentate ligand, binding to both the iron atoms in the same molecular unit. Electrochemical studies show that the complexes 3, 4, and 9 catalyze the reduction of protons to molecular hydrogen, with 4 electrolyzed already at -1.40 V versus Ag/AgNO3 (-1.0 V vs NHE).     

A novel immunoassay based on the dissociation of immunocomplex and fluorescence quenching by gold nanoparticles

This study reports a novel, simple and sensitive immunoassay using fluorescence quenching caused by gold nanoparticles coated with antibody. The method is based on a non-competitive heterogeneous immunoassay of human IgG conducted by the typical procedure of sandwich immunocomplex formation. Goat anti-human IgG was first adsorbed on polystyrene microwells, and human IgG analyte was captured by the primary antibody and then sandwiched by antibody labeled with gold nanoparticles. The sandwich-type immunocomplex was subsequently dissociated by the mixed solution of sodium hydroxide and trisodium citrate, the solution obtained, which contains gold nanoparticles coated with antibody, was used to quench fluorescence. The fluorescence intensity of fluorescein at 517 nm was inversely proportional to the logarithm of the concentration of human IgG in the dynamic range of 10-5000 ng mL⁻¹ with a detection limit of 4.7 ng mL⁻¹. The electrochemical experiments and the UV-vis measurements were applied to demonstrate whether the immunoglod was dissociated completely and whether the gold nanoparticles aggregated after being dissociated, respectively. The proposed system can be extended to detect target molecules such as other kinds of antigen and DNA strands, and has broad potential applications in disease diagnosis.     

A trinuclear copper(II) complex of 2,4,6-tris(di-2-pyridylamine)-1,3,5-triazine shows prominent DNA cleavage activity

A highly water soluble 3:2 complex of copper(II) and 2,4,6-tris(di-2-pyridylamine)-1,3,5-triazine (TDAT) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The complex crystallized in a triclinic P1 space group with a molecular formula of [Cu3(TDAT)2Cl3]Cl3.2H2O (1), where each copper ion is coordinated by four pyridine nitrogen atoms and an apical chloride. The trinuclear complex is stable at physiological relevant conditions. It can bind to DNA through electrostatic attraction and cleave efficiently the supercoiled pBR322 DNA into its nicked and linear forms at micromolar concentrations. Active oxygen intermediates such as hydroxyl radicals and singlet oxygen generated in the presence of 1 may act as active species for the DNA scission.     

充水管道声分隔片消声性能研究Ⅰ.理论分析

本文对在充水管道中加入声分隔片的消声结构的消声性能进行了理论研究,用模式匹配法计算了有限和蔗声分隔片的传递损失和功率反射系数。研究结果表明,声分隔片的消声效果优于通常所采用在管壁加吸声衬怪的结构,并且其功率反射系数很小。     

Heat transfer for diode side-pumped YAG slabs

Thermal heating is a major limiting factor in scaling the average power of a solid-state laser. The heat transfer coefficient is affected by the coolant flow rate, the physical properties of the laser slab and the coolant, and the pumping cavity geometry. The relationship between the heating effects and the heat transfer coefficient has been studied by considering the variations of thermal conductivity and expansion coefficient of the laser slab with temperature. It is concluded that different heat transfer coefficients should be adopted according to different heat intensities inside the laser slabs in order to obtain better pumping input as well as to optimize the cooling effects.

A3M2Ge3O12石榴石体系中Cr3+离子的宽带发射光谱

首次报告在Ａ３Ｍ２Ｇｅ３Ｏ１２∶Ｃｒ（Ａ＝Ｃｄ２＋,Ｃａ２＋;Ｍ＝Ａｌ３＋,Ｇａ３＋,Ｓｃ３＋）锗酸盐石榴石体系中,Ｃｒ３＋离子室温下的红—近红外（Ｒ—ＮＩＲ）宽发射带光谱性质。随位于八面体格位上的Ａｌ３＋→Ｇａ３＋→Ｓｃ３＋和十二面体格位上的Ｃｄ２＋→Ｃａ２＋组成顺序变化,室温下,Ｃｒ３＋离子的４Ｔ２→４Ａ２能级跃迁的Ｒ－ＮＩＲ宽发射带,发射峰及光谱的长波和短波边逐渐向低能长波边移动。这是由于晶场强度减弱,阳离子的离子半径增大的结果。在镉（钙）铝和镉（钙）镓锗酸盐体系中,少量Ｓｃ３＋取代八面体上的Ａｌ３＋和Ｇａ３＋时,可使Ｃｒ３＋的Ｒ－ＮＩＲ荧光发射强度增强。     

Thermal lensing of diode side-pumped solid-state lasers

The pump energy distribution in a diode side-pumped solid-state laser, is an overlap of propagating Gaussian beams. A simple model has been developed to calculate the thermal focal length of a diode side-pumped solid-state laser, which is based on a thermal model with a Gaussian heat density in any cross section of a laser rod. It can be seen that as the waists of pump beams increase, the energy distribution tends to be uniform and the thermal focal length tends to be long, which means a smaller thermal focusing.
