We investigate the first-order transition in the spin-1 two-dimensional Blume-Capel model in square lattices by revisiting the transfer-matrix method. With large strip widths increased up to the size of 18 sites, we construct the detailed phase coexistence curve which shows excellent quantitative agreement with the recent advanced Monte Carlo results. In the deep first-order area, we observe the exponential system-size scaling of the spectral gap of the transfer matrix from which linearly increasing interfacial tension is deduced with decreasing temperature. We find that the first-order signature at low temperatures is strongly pronounced with much suppressed finite-size influence in the examined thermodynamic properties of entropy, non-zero spin population, and specific heat. It turns out that the jump at the transition becomes increasingly sharp as it goes deep into the first-order area, which is in contrast to the Wang–Landau results where finite-size smoothing gets more severe at lower temperatures.  相似文献

Primary cilia mediate the interactions between cells and external stresses. Thus, dysregulation of primary cilia is implicated in various ciliopathies, e.g., degeneration of the retina caused by dysregulation of the photoreceptor primary cilium. Particulate matter (PM) can cause epithelium injury and endothelial dysfunction by increasing oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. Previously, we showed that PM disrupts the formation of primary cilia in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells. In the present study, we identified 2-isopropylmalic acid (2-IPMA) as a novel inducer of primary ciliogenesis from a metabolite library screening. Both ciliated cells and primary cilium length were increased in 2-IPMA-treated RPE cells. Notably, 2-IPMA strongly promoted primary ciliogenesis and restored PM2.5-induced dysgenesis of primary cilia in RPE cells. Both excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and activation of a stress kinase, JNK, by PM2.5 were reduced by 2-IPMA. Moreover, 2-IPMA inhibited proinflammatory cytokine production, i.e., IL-6 and TNF-α, induced by PM2.5 in RPE cells. Taken together, our data suggest that 2-IPMA ameliorates PM2.5-induced inflammation by promoting primary ciliogenesis in RPE cells.  相似文献

以N2/H2、N2或NH3为载气,利用碳辅助化学气相沉积法,常压1140℃下在石英衬底上制备了大量直径为20—300 nm,长数百微米的非晶SiOx纳米线.制备得到的纳米线具有高度定向生长的特性.利用透射电子显微镜、扫描电子显微镜及电子能谱对SiOx纳米线的形貌及组分进行了分析,Si与O原子之比为1∶18.傅里叶红外吸收谱显示了非晶氧化硅的三个特征峰(482,806和1095 cm-1)及1132 cm-1无序氧化硅结构的强吸收峰.SiOx纳米线光致发光光谱(PL)在440 nm(283 eV)处具有较强的荧光峰;N2为载气生长的SiOx纳米线的PL峰强比NH3为载气生长的SiOx纳米线峰强大四个数量级. 关键词x纳米线')" href="#">SiOx纳米线 碳辅助化学气相沉积法 傅里叶红外吸收 光致发光  相似文献

Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) is one of the most fatal human malignancies. Ursi Fel (UF) is the bile of a brown bear that has been traditionally used for heat clearance and toxin relief in Korean and Chinese medicines. In this study, we determined the anticancer effects of a UF extract and its active compound, ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), in FRO human ATC cells. FRO cells were treated with UF extract and UDCA at different concentrations for various durations. Cell viability was measured using an MTT assay. Cell apoptosis was investigated by flow cytometric analysis following Annexin V and propidium iodide (PI) staining, and Hoechst staining was used to observe nuclear fragmentation. The expression of pro-apoptotic (Bax, caspase-3, cytochrome c, and PARP), anti-apoptotic (Bcl-2), and angiogenetic (TGF-β, VEGF, N-cadherin, and sirtuin-1) proteins and the phosphorylation of Akt and mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) were determined by western blot analysis. Treatment with UF extract at 10, 25, and 50 μg/mL and UDCA at 25, 50, and 100 μM/mL significantly inhibited the growth of FRO cells in a dose-dependent manner. Flow cytometry and Hoechst staining revealed an increase in the apoptosis of FRO cells mediated by UF extract and UDCA in a dose-dependent manner. UF extract (25 and 50 μg) and UDCA (50 and 100 μM) significantly increased the expression of Bax, caspase-3, cytochrome c, and PARP and inhibited the expression of Bcl-2, TGF-β, VEGF, N-cadherin, and sirtuin-1 in FRO cells. Furthermore, UF extract and UDCA treatment stimulated Akt phosphorylation and inhibited mTOR phosphorylation in these cells. These results indicate that UF extract and UDCA exert anticancer properties in FRO cells by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis via regulating the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.  相似文献

Thermal degradation of sulfur mustard (2,2′-dichlorodiethyl sulfide, HD) in the presence of metal oxide adsorbents was investigated by thermal desorption in conjunction with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Zr(OH)4, Al2O3, Al2CoO4, MgO, CeO2, and V2O5 were used as metal oxide adsorbents. Neat HD was spiked onto the metal oxides packed in glass tubes, which were kept at room temperature and then heated at moderately elevated temperatures of 100°C by a thermal desorption system. The products of thermal degradation were directly transferred and analyzed by GC-MS. 1,4-Dithiane and 1,4-oxathiane were characterized as the major products of the thermal degradation of HD in the presence of Zr(OH)4, Al2O3, Al2CoO4, and CeO2 adsorbents. No effective degradation was observed with MgO and V2O5. Of particular note is Zr(OH)4, which extremely enhanced the thermal degradation of HD.  相似文献

Skp2 is thought to have two critical roles in tumorigenesis. As part of the SCFSkp2 ubiquitin ligase, Skp2 drives the cell cycle by mediating the degradation of cell cycle proteins. Besides the proteolytic activity, Skp2 also blocks p53‐mediated apoptosis by outcompeting p53 for binding p300. Herein, we exploit the Skp2/p300 interaction as a new target for Skp2 inhibition. An affinity‐based high‐throughput screen of a combinatorial cyclic peptoid library identified an inhibitor that binds to Skp2 and interferes with the Skp2/p300 interaction. We show that antagonism of the Skp2/p300 interaction by the inhibitor leads to p300‐mediated p53 acetylation, resulting in p53‐mediated apoptosis in cancer cells, without affecting Skp2 proteolytic activity. Our results suggest that inhibition of the Skp2/p300 interaction has a great potential as a new anticancer strategy, and our Skp2 inhibitor can be developed as a chemical probe to delineate Skp2 non‐proteolytic function in tumorigenesis.  相似文献

One of the most fundamental but yet unanswered questions in the synthesis of zeolites and zeolite-like materials is whether or not any parameter controlling the microporosity of the crystallized product from synthesis mixtures with feasible chemical compositions exists. Here we report that an experimentally optimized parameter (ca. 3.3 ≤ MOH/P2O5 ≤ 5.3, where M is alkali metal ions) is the criterion bringing about the successful formation of various high-charge-density silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO) and zincoaluminophosphate (ZnAPO) molecular sieves, without the aid of organic structure-directing agents. The materials obtained using this empirical concept include SAPO molecular sieves with CHA and LTA topologies, as well as a SAPO FAU/EMT intergrowth, and ZnAPO ones with CZP and SOD topologies. This study demonstrates the existence of an essential factor determining not only phase selectivity but also microporosity (0.3–2 nm) in the synthesis of zeotypes with charged frameworks which may offer interesting opportunities for more efficiently producing novel zeolite structures and/or compositions.

This work introduces a novel chip to be used in the future as a simple and cost-effective method for creating DNA arrays using light emission diode (LED) photolithography. The DNA chip platform contains 24 independent reaction sites, which allows for the testing of a corresponding amount of patients’ samples in hospital. An array of commercial UV LEDs and lens systems was combined with a microfluidic flow system to provide patterning of 24 individual reaction sites, each with 64 independent probes. Using the LED array instead of conventional laser exposure systems or micro-mirror systems significantly reduces the cost of equipment. The microfluidic system together with microfluidic flow cells drastically reduces the amount of used reagents, which is important due to the high cost of commercial reagents. The DNA synthesis efficiency was verified by fluorescence labeling and conventional hybridization.  相似文献

Carbon-free CuInSe2 (CIS) thin film with a dense microstructure has been prepared using a novel non-vacuum based fabrication route. CuxSy and In2Se3 binary nanoparticles, approximately 10 nm in size, were synthesized by a low temperature colloidal process. The precursor film was deposited using the coating ink formulated with the binary nanoparticles and pyridine, and then annealed in the rapid thermal annealing (RTA) chamber at 540 °C for 15 min under selenium (Se) atmosphere. Scanning electron micrographs, X-ray diffraction patterns and Raman spectra showed a phase pure carbon-free and dense CIS thin film was prepared in this method. A solar cell device fabricated using this CIS thin film showed the following photovoltaic characteristics: VOC = 350 mV, JSC = 24.72 mA cm−2, FF = 38.73% and η = 3.36% under standard AM 1.5 condition.  相似文献
