A half‐adder and a half‐subtractor have been realized using enzymatic reaction cascades performed in a flow cell device. The individual cells were modified with different enzymes and assembled in complex networks to perform logic operations and arithmetic functions. The modular design of the logic devices allowed for easy re‐configuration, enabling them to perform various functions. The final output signals, represented by redox species [Fe(CN)6]3?/4? or NADH/NAD+, were analyzed optically to derive the calculation results. These output signals might be applicable in the future for actuation processes, for example, substance release activated by logically processed signals.  相似文献

The quality of food products has been receiving great attention due to its influence on human nutrition and health. In this sense, the determination of trace metals in foods has turned an important field on food analysis. Concerning vegetable oils, its metal trace composition is an important criterion for the assessment of their quality once it is known that trace metals affect their rate of oxidation, influencing freshness, keeping properties as well as storage. In the present work an analytical method which enables the direct determination of Cu and Ni in vegetable oils by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS), using a “solid” sample strategy is presented: in nature, samples are directly weighed on the graphite platform boat and inserted in the graphite tube. An adequate temperature program permitted the calibration by external aqueous analytical curves. Good concordance between the proposed procedure and EPA procedures was found in the analysis of real samples. Limits of detection of 0.001 and 0.002 μg g−1 were found for Cu and Ni, respectively, in the original samples, and they were comfortably below the concentrations found.  相似文献

A bacterial alpha-d-glucopyranosyl-1-phosphate thymidylyltransferase was found to couple four hexofuranosyl-1-phosphates, as well as a pentofuranosyl-1-phosphate, with deoxythymidine 5'-triphosphate, providing access to furanosyl nucleotides. The enzymatic reaction mixtures were analyzed by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy to determine the anomeric stereochemistry of furanosyl nucleotide products. This is the first demonstration of a nucleotidylyltransferase discriminating between diastereomeric mixtures of sugar-1-phosphates to produce stereopure, biologically relevant furanosyl nucleotides.  相似文献

The electronic structure and reactivity trends of a set of tris‐(n‐methyl‐8‐quinolinolato) metal (III) (n = 0, 3, 4, 5; metal = Al+3, Ga+3) used as electron‐transport layer in organic light‐emitting diodes were studied and compared. All geometries were optimized at B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) level of theory. The geometries of the ground state (S0) of unsubstituted molecules AlQ3 and GaQ3 were found to be slightly affected by the methyl group, which is in agreement with previous works. Methyl‐derivatives conserve largely the electronic structures of AlQ3 and GaQ3. The energies of the frontier orbitals highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital are raised by the electron‐releasing effect of methyl group. Molecular orbital contribution analysis reveals that the orbital population is essentially the same for both MQ3 and their derivatives. Analyses of the ionization potential and electron affinity showed that MQ3 tend to be better hole‐blockers than methylated analogues and 5Me‐MQ3 have higher hole‐injection capability than the other methyl‐substituted derivatives. The global reactivity analysis showed that the electrophilicity index can be an indicator of electron‐injection capability in these complexes. Local reactivity analysis showed that atomic sites that are prone to nucleophilic/electrophilic attack are atoms C‐4 in L3/C‐5 in L1. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2010  相似文献

Bacteriophages, or phages, are bacterial viruses that can infect a broad or narrow range of host organisms. Knowing the host range of a phage allows it to be exploited in targeting various pathogens. Applying phages for the identification of microorganisms related to food and waterborne pathogens and pathogens of clinical significance to humans and animals has a long history, and there has to some extent been a recent revival in these applications as phages have become more extensively integrated into novel detection, identification, and monitoring technologies. Biotechnological and genetic engineering strategies applied to phages are responsible for some of these new methods, but even natural unmodified phages are widely applicable when paired with appropriate innovative detector platforms. This review highlights the use of phages as pathogen detector interfaces to provide the reader with an up-to-date inventory of phage-based biodetection strategies.  相似文献

The rates of elimination of several ethyl esters of 2‐oxo‐carboxylic acid were determined in a seasoned static reaction vessel over the temperature range 350–430°C and pressure range 33–240 Torr. The reactions, in the presence of a free‐radical inhibitor, are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. The overall and partial rate coefficients are expressed by the Arrhenius equation. The chiral compounds (R)‐ and (S)‐1‐benzoyl‐2,3,5,6‐tetrahydro‐3‐methyl‐2‐(1‐methylethyl)pyrimidin‐4(1H)‐one ((R)‐ and (S)‐ 1 ), derived from (R)‐ and (S)‐asparagine, respectively, were used as convenient starting materials for the preparation of the enantiomerically pure α‐alkylated (alkyl=Me, Et, Bn) α,β‐diamino acids (R)‐ and (S)‐ 11 – 13 . The chiral lithium enolates of (R)‐ and (S)‐ 1 were first alkylated, and the resulting diasteroisomeric products 5 – 7 were aminated with ‘di(tert‐butyl) azodicarboxylate’ (DBAD), giving rise to the diastereoisomerically pure (≥98%) compounds 8 – 10 . The target compounds (R)‐ and (S)‐ 11 – 13 could then be obtained in good yields and high purities by a hydrolysis/hydrogenolysis/hydrolysis sequence.  相似文献
