Nanosecond (lambda exc = 266, 355 and 532 nm) and picosecond (lambda exc = 355 nm) laser flash photolysis of hematoporphyrin (Hp) was performed in neutral (pH 7.4) and alkaline (pH 12) aqueous solution, as well as in the presence of 0.1% Triton X-100. The dependence of the yield of photoproduced hydrated electrons (e-aq) on laser pulse energy was studied over a wide range of energies (0.2 to greater than 1000 mJ cm-2). The results show that e-aq are predominantly formed in a two-photon process at lambda exc = 266 and 355 nm. One-photon quantum yields are higher at lambda exc = 266 nm than at lambda exc = 355 nm. Both one-photon and two-photon pathways are less efficient at higher Hp concentration, reflecting the influence of Hp self-aggregation. Two-photon e-aq formation is more efficient when 30 ps pulses are used for excitation, as compared to 10 ns pulses. No e-aq could be detected at lambda exc = 532 nm. Nanosecond pulse-induced transient spectra obtained at pH 7.4 are also discussed.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was applied to detect nonvisible internal bruise and spraing symptoms and to get insight on the chemical and anatomical causes of such defects. Cultivar Saturna with internal bruise and cultivar Estima with spraing symptoms were investigated by comparison of different MR images as proton density-, T(1)- and T(2)-weighted images and T(2) maps. In all these types of MR images, it was possible to identify internal bruise and spraing spots in the potatoes, where these phenomena were present. When combining the information in the MR images, the interior of the internal bruise was characterised as being very dry (low signal in the proton-weighted image) with a small amount of highly mobile water in the shell around the bruise (high signal in T(2)-weighted image and high relaxation time in T(2) map). The spraing spots were more diffuse; however, the dry interior and highly mobile water around the spraing dots were somewhat similar to the appearance of internal bruise but resembled more the appearance of human tumour tissue than bruise disorders in, for example, fruits. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that MRI can detect nonvisible internal bruise and spraing symptoms in potatoes, which has not been published before. MRI may, therefore, be an appropriate method for detecting and for studying developmental changes of such disorders and related disorders during postharvest storage in future experiments.  相似文献

The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) obtained from NMR measurements is modelled for diffusion in a compartment restricted by an impermeable boundary. For a given pulse sequence, the ADC can be determined from the connected velocity autocorrelation function (the second-order velocity cumulant), which we show can be expressed as a double surface integral over the boundary, involving the probability for molecules to diffuse from one boundary point to another. There is no restriction on the geometry of the boundary. This result allows a fast calculation of the ADC for an arbitrary time course of the diffusion-sensitizing gradient. Explicit examples are given for diffusion within three basic geometries for different pulse sequences. The ADCs measured with the Stejskal-Tanner pulse sequence and a more realistic pulse sequence with slice selection gradient and eddy current compensation are found to yield almost identical results. The application of the results are discussed in relation to determination of the microscopic structure of brain white matter.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide was deposited from aqueous suspension onto cellulosic surfaces.Titania was sourced from Degussa (P25TM,70:30 anatase:rutile).Dry uptake of particles was shown to be rapid and dominant with one-third of the deposition occurring in less than 30 s and over one-half in the first minute.Isotherms were recorded to compare the rate of titanium deposition on dry and pre-wetted cotton.In the dry case uptake reached a maximum in 30 min whereas in the pre-wetted case the uptake was seen to continue beyond 180 min.A broad trend of higher deposition occurring at lower pH was seen,corresponding to the region where surface charges were opposite and thus attractive.Dry pickup was less significant at high pH.The response to varying ionic strength was complex and was attributed to the combined effect of charge screening,particle aggregation and consequent particle entrapment or occlusion.Titania deposition into the interstices of woven cotton sheets resulted in the formation of inorganic,nanoparticulate skeletons which could be isolated by controlled combustion of the cellulose and thus cotton was suggested to have potential for the templated synthesis of high surface area semiconductor materials.  相似文献
