The reaction of 2‐[bis(2‐methoxy‐phenyl)phosphanyl]‐4‐methyl‐benzenesulfonic acid (a) and 2‐[bis(2′,6′‐dimethoxybiphenyl‐2‐yl)phosphanyl]benzenesulfonic acid (b) with dimethyl(N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediamine)‐palladium(II) (PdMe2(TMEDA)) leads to the formation of TMEDA bridged palladium based polymerization catalysts ( 1a and 1b ). Upon reaction with pyridine, two mononuclear catalysts are formed ( 2a and 2b ). These catalysts are able to homopolymerize ethylene and also copolymerize ethylene with acrylates or with norbornenes. With ligand b , high molecular weight polymers are formed in high yields, but higher comonomer incorporations are obtained with ligand a .
Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are a rare and highly heterogeneous group of solid tumors, originating from various types of connective tissue. Complete removal of STS by surgery is challenging due to the anatomical location of the tumor, which results in tumor recurrence. Additionally, current polychemotherapeutic regimens are highly toxic with no rational survival benefit. Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is a novel technology that has demonstrated immense cancer therapeutic potential. Canady Cold Helios Plasma (CHCP) is a device that sprays CAP along the surgical margins to eradicate residual cancer cells after tumor resection. This preliminary study was conducted in vitro prior to in vivo testing in a humanitarian compassionate use case study and an FDA-approved phase 1 clinical trial (IDE G190165). In this study, the authors evaluate the efficacy of CHCP across multiple STS cell lines. CHCP treatment reduced the viability of four different STS cell lines (i.e., fibrosarcoma, synovial sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and liposarcoma) in a dose-dependent manner by inhibiting proliferation, disrupting cell cycle, and inducing apoptosis-like cell death. 相似文献

A quadratically convergent algorithm based on a Newton-type iteration is defined to approximate roots of operator equations in Banach spaces. Fréchet derivative operator invertibility is not required; approximate right inverses are used in a neighborhood of the root. This result, which requires an initially small residual, is sufficiently robust to yield existence; it may be viewed as a generalized version of the Kantorovich theorem. A second algorithm, based on continuation via single, Euler-predictor-Newton-corrector iterates, is also presented. It has the merit of controlling the residual until the homotopy terminates, at which point the first algorithm applies. This method is capable of yielding existence of a solution curve as well. An application is given for operators described by compact perturbations of the identity. 相似文献
