Calculations show that the unexpected low phenyl migratory aptitude observed in reactions of mixed alkyl-aryl boranes with benzylic sulfur ylides can be attributed to (1) a conformational issue, (2) the reduction of the usual neighbouring effect of the phenyl in the transition state by the benzylic nature of the migrating terminus, (3) steric hindrance suffered by the larger phenyl group migrating to the hindered migrating terminus and this despite (4) the increase in the barrier to alkyl migration by the presence of a 'non-migrating' phenyl on the boron atom. 相似文献

New ab initio potential energy surfaces for the (2)Pi ground electronic state of the Ar-SH complex are presented, calculated at the RCCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV5Z level. Weakly bound rotation-vibration levels are calculated using coupled-channel methods that properly account for the coupling between the two electronic states. The resulting wave functions are analyzed and a new adiabatic approximation including spin-orbit coupling is proposed. The ground-state wave functions are combined with those obtained for the excited (2)Sigma(+) state [D. M. Hirst, R. J. Doyle, and S. R. Mackenzie, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 6, 5463 (2004)] to produce transition dipole moments. Modeling the transition intensities as a combination of these dipole moments and calculated lifetime values [A. B. McCoy, J. Chem. Phys. 109, 170 (1998)] leads to a good representation of the experimental fluorescence excitation spectrum [M.-C. Yang, A. P. Salzberg, B.-C. Chang, C. C. Carter, and T. A. Miller, J. Chem. Understanding the interaction of N2 with iron is relevant to the iron catalyst used in the Haber process and to possible roles of the FeMoco active site of nitrogenase. The work reported here uses synthetic compounds to evaluate the extent of NN weakening in low-coordinate iron complexes with an FeNNFe core. The steric effects, oxidation level, presence of alkali metals, and coordination number of the iron atoms are varied, to gain insight into the factors that weaken the NN bond. Diiron complexes with a bridging N2 ligand, L(R)FeNNFeL(R) (L(R) = beta-diketiminate; R = Me, tBu), result from reduction of [L(R)FeCl]n under a dinitrogen atmosphere, and an iron(I) precursor of an N2 complex can be observed. X-ray crystallographic and resonance Raman data for L(R)FeNNFeL(R) show a reduction in the N-N bond order, and calculations (density functional and multireference) indicate that the bond weakening arises from cooperative back-bonding into the N2 pi orbitals. Increasing the coordination number of iron from three to four through binding of pyridines gives compounds with comparable N-N weakening, and both are substantially weakened relative to five-coordinate iron-N2 complexes, even those with a lower oxidation state. Treatment of L(R)FeNNFeL(R) with KC8 gives K2L(R)FeNNFeL(R), and calculations indicate that reduction of the iron and alkali metal coordination cooperatively weaken the N-N bond. The complexes L(R)FeNNFeL(R) react as iron(I) fragments, losing N2 to yield iron(I) phosphine, CO, and benzene complexes. They also reduce ketones and aldehydes to give the products of pinacol coupling. The K2L(R)FeNNFeL(R) compounds can be alkylated at iron, with loss of N2. 相似文献

The incorporation of the electronegative cyano group into the structure of the title dithiazolyl radical 1 induces a lamellar packing motif that favors spin-transition behavior. Variable-temperature magnetic studies on 1 reveal a reversible phase transition at 250 K between a diamagnetic low-temperature phase and a paramagnetic high-temperature phase. X-ray crystal structures at 180(2) and 300(2) K reveal that both phases crystallize in the space group P2(1)/c, with the phase transition associated with a doubling of the crystallographic a axis. The concomitant change in magnetic properties is associated with a change from a paramagnetic regular pi stack of radicals and a diamagnetic distorted pi stack in which an energy gap opens up at the Fermi level corresponding to a Peierls-like transition. 相似文献

An alternative magic angle spinning (MAS) exchange NMR experiment based on chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) amplification is described. The CSA amplification experiment correlates a standard MAS spectrum in the omega(2) dimension with a sideband pattern in omega(1) in which the intensities are identical to those expected for a sample spinning at some fraction 1N of the actual rate omega(r). In common with 2D-PASS, the isotropic shift appears only in the omega(2) dimension, and long acquisition times can be avoided without loss of resolution of different chemical sites. The new CSA amplification exchange experiment provides information about the time scale and geometry of molecular motions via their effect on the sideband intensities in a one-dimensional pattern. The one-dimensional patterns from different chemical sites are separated across two frequency dimensions according to the isotropic shifts. 相似文献

The reactions of a range of amide-stabilized sulfur ylides derived from readily available camphor-derived sulfonium salts for the synthesis of glycidic amides have been studied. Primary, secondary, and tertiary amides were tested, and it was found that the highest enantioselectivities were observed with tertiary amides, which provided glycidic amides in good to excellent yields, exclusive trans selectivity, and excellent enantioselectivities. The reaction was general for aromatic aldehydes, but aliphatic aldehydes gave more variable enantioselectivities. The epoxy amides could be converted cleanly into epoxy ketones by treatment with organolithium reagents. We were also able to effect selective ring opening of the epoxy amides with a variety of nucleophiles, followed by hydrolysis of the amide to yield the corresponding carboxylic acid. This methodology was applied to the total synthesis of the target compound SK&F 104353. A combination of crossover experiments and theoretical calculations has revealed that the rate- and selectivity-determining step is ring closure, not betaine formation as was the case for phenyl-stabilized ylides. 相似文献

Deoxyharringtonine (1) is among the most potent of the anti-leukemia alkaloids isolated from the Cephalotaxus genus. A convergent total synthesis of (-)-1 is reported, involving novel synthetic methods and strategies that include (1) the strain-release rearrangement of N-aryl-2-vinylaziridines for [3]benzazepine synthesis, (2) a vinylogous amide acylation-cycloaddition cascade for spiro-pyrrolidine construction, and (3) efficient acylation of the cephalotaxine core by alpha-(beta-lactone)carboxylic acid derivatives to access the biologically active cephalotaxus esters. These innovations should allow rapid access not only to other Cephalotaxus alkaloids but also to non-natural analogues of potential therapeutic utility. 相似文献

The salt-free Wittig reaction of non-, semi-, and stabilized ylides has been investigated on realistic systems using density functional theory (DFT) calculations, including continuum solvation. Our results provide unequivocal support for the generally accepted mechanism and are in very good agreement with experimental selectivities. This study shows that E/Z selectivity of non- and semi-stabilized ylides cannot be fully understood without considering the energy of the elimination TS. The influence of ylide stabilization and the nature of phosphorus substituents on reversibility of oxaphosphetane formation is clarified. Unexpectedly, the puckering ability of addition TSs is shown not to depend on ylide stabilization, but the geometry of the TS is decided by an interplay of 1,2; 1,3; and C-H...O interactions in the case of non- and semi-stabilized ylides, whereas a dipole-dipole interaction governs the addition TS structures for stabilized ylides. The well-known influence of ylide stabilization on selectivity of PPh(3) derivatives is explained as follows: in non- and semi-stabilized ylides reactions, cis and trans addition TSs have, respectively, puckered and planar geometries, and selectivity is governed by an interplay of 1,2 and 1,3 interactions. For stabilized ylides, the high E selectivity is due to a strong dipole-dipole interaction at the addition TS. The influence of the nature of phosphorus substituents on selectivity is also detailed, the different behavior of (MeO)(3)PCHCO(2)Me ylides being explained by their lower dipole. This novel picture of the factors determining TS structures and selectivity provides a sound basis for the design of new ylides. 相似文献
