As the Heston model is not consistent with VIX data in real market well enough, alternative stochastic volatility models including the double-mean-reverting model of Gatheral (in: Bachelier Congress, 2008) have been developed to overcome its limitation. The double-mean-reverting model is a three factor model successfully reflecting the empirical dynamics of the variance but there is no closed form solution for VIX derivatives and SPX options and thus calibration using conventional techniques may be slow. In this paper, we propose a fast mean-reverting version of the double-mean-reverting model. We obtain a closed form approximation for VIX derivatives and show how it is effective by comparing it with the Heston model and the double-mean-reverting model. 相似文献

Aging is associated with cellular senescence followed by bone loss leading to bone fragility in humans. However, the regulators associated with cellular senescence in aged bones need to be identified. Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)−2α regulates bone remodeling via the differentiation of osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Here, we report that HIF-2α expression was highly upregulated in aged bones. HIF-2α depletion in male mice reversed age-induced bone loss, as evidenced by an increase in the number of osteoblasts and a decrease in the number of osteoclasts. In an in vitro model of doxorubicin-mediated senescence, the expression of Hif-2α and p21, a senescence marker gene, was enhanced, and osteoblastic differentiation of primary mouse calvarial preosteoblast cells was inhibited. Inhibition of senescence-induced upregulation of HIF-2α expression during matrix maturation, but not during the proliferation stage of osteoblast differentiation, reversed the age-related decrease in Runx2 and Ocn expression. However, HIF-2α knockdown did not affect p21 expression or senescence progression, indicating that HIF-2α expression upregulation in senescent osteoblasts may be a result of aging rather than a cause of cellular senescence. Osteoclasts are known to induce a senescent phenotype during in vitro osteoclastogenesis. Consistent with increased HIF-2α expression, the expression of p16 and p21 was upregulated during osteoclastogenesis of bone marrow macrophages. ChIP following overexpression or knockdown of HIF-2α using adenovirus revealed that p16 and p21 are direct targets of HIF-2α in osteoclasts. Osteoblast-specific (Hif-2αfl/fl;Col1a1-Cre) or osteoclast-specific (Hif-2αfl/fl;Ctsk-Cre) conditional knockout of HIF-2α in male mice reversed age-related bone loss. Selective salt transport of KCl over LiCl has been studied for a crosslinked poly(L -glutamic acid) membrane immersed in 80 vol.-% ethanol. The permeabilities (Ps) and solubilities were measured for various mixing ratios of the salts. The highest permselectivity (Ps (KCl)/Ps (LiCl) = 4,3) has been obtained at a LiCl mole fraction of 0,2. Conducting polyaniline‐polymannuronate (PANI‐PM) composites were synthesized via in situ deposition techniques. By dissolving different weight percentages of polymannuronate (PM) (5, 10, 15, and 25%), the oxidative polymerization of aniline was achieved through the use of ammonium persulfate as oxidant. Structural morphology, FT‐IR, and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies support a strong interaction between PANI and PM. The temperature‐dependent DC conductivity of PANI‐PM composites was studied within the range of 300 ≤ T ≤ 500 °K, presenting evidence for the transport properties of PANI‐PM composites. Conductivity was analyzed through Mott's equation, which leveraged the variable range hopping model in three dimensions. Parameters such as density of states at the Fermi energy, hopping energy, and hopping distance were calculated. Based on the above factors, the synthesis of PANI‐PM composites envisages the future development of biomimetic materials for the creation of a new bionanocomposite as a multicomponent and multifunctional material. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Conditional statistics concerning evaporation and combustion of a spray are investigated in homogeneous, isotropic, and decaying two-dimensional (2D) turbulence. Randomly distributed, polydisperse droplets of n-heptane go through single-step combustion chemistry. Attention is focused on parametric effects of initial Sauter mean radius (SMR), turbulence level and droplet velocity in both reacting and nonreacting cases. A simple linear model for the conditional evaporation rate is proposed and validated against DNS data. A conventional β-probability density function (pdf) is shown to be valid with no peak occurring on the fuel side. The amplitude mapping closure (AMC) model works well for the conditional scalar dissipation rate with evaporating and reacting sprays. Parametric study shows that initial SMR and droplet velocity are major factors affecting conditional flame structures, whereas the effect of reaction is not significant except during autoignition. 相似文献

Using reactors of different sizes and geometries the dynamics of the frontal polymerization of 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETAC), with ammonium persulfate as the initiator were studied. For this system, the frontal polymerization exhibits complex behavior that depends on the ratio of the monomers. For a particular range of monomers concentration, the polymerization front becomes nonplanar, and spin modes appear. By varying the reactor diameter, we experimentally confirmed the expected shift of the system to a greater number of "hot spots" for larger diameters. For square test tubes a "zig-zag" mode was observed for the first time in frontal polymerization. We confirmed the viscosity-dependence of the spin mode instabilities. We also observed novel modes in cylinder-inside-cylinder reactors. Lastly, using a conical reactor with a continuously varying diameter, we observed what may be evidence for bistability depending on the direction of propagation.
