Oligoribonucleotides containing an aminoalkyl group at the N(4) atom of cytosine as precursors of new reagents for site-specific modifications of biopolymers

A solid-phase H-phosphonate procedure was developed for the synthesis of oligoribonucleotides containing aliphatic amino linkers with different lengths at the N(4) atom of cytosine. The hybridization properties of modified oligoribonucleotides were studied. Thermal stability of the RNA—RNA* and DNA—RNA* duplexes depends on the position of modified cytosine in the chain and the type of the duplex.     

Self-dual Yang-Mills fields ind=4 and integrable systems in 1≤d≤3

The Ward correspondence between self-dual Yang-Mills fields and holomorphic vector bundles is used to develop a method for reducing the Lax pair for the self-duality equations of the Yang-Mills model ind=4 with respect to the action of continuous symmetry groups. It is well known that reductions of the self-duality equations lead to systems of nonlinear differential equations in dimension 1d3. For the integration of the reduced equations, it is necessary to find a Lax pair whose compatibility conditions is these equations. The method makes it possible to obtain systematically a Lax representation for the reduced self-duality equations. This is illustrated by a large number of examples.N. N. Flame AAS determination of dopants and trace metal impurities in single crystals of potassium titanylphosphate

A flame AAS method is used for the determination of dopants and impurities in potassium titanylphosphate (KTP) single crystals. Sample digestion using sulphuric acid and hydrofluoric acid is proposed as being the most appropriate procedure. The effect of major and minor components in the sample solution on the analytical signal is studied. The content of the dopants Cr, Mn and Ni (at a level of about 1 mg g(-1)) as well as the content of the impurities Fe, Na, Mg, W and Al (from 4 mug g(-1), depending on the trace metal) in the KTP single crystals is determined. The precision of the method is characterized by a relative standard deviation of 3-10%. The accuracy is checked by comparison with ICP-AES data for the trace element content in the KTP single crystals.     

Quantum-Chemical Calculations of the Reaction of Haloalkynes with Grignard Compounds

Two pathways of the reactions of methylmagnesium bromide with 1-chloro- and 1-bromo-3-methoxymethyl-1-propynes were simulated by the MNDO quantum-chemical method. The calculations predict initial coordination of magnesium to the C atom of the triple bond, which determines predominant nucleophilic substitution of the halogen atom according to the addition-elimination pattern.     

Reaction of di- and trisubstituted ethynylsilanemagnesium halides with dimethylethynylfluorosilane

Conclusions The reaction of magnesium bromide derivatives of di- and triethynylsilanes with dimethylethynylfluorosilane gave 1,2-disubstituted silylacetylenes containing ethynyl and vinyl groups at the silicon atoms.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 11, pp. 2614–2616, November, 1984.     

Flow injection on-line sorption preconcentration of platinum in a knotted reactor coupled with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry

A flow injection on-line sorption preconcentration method for the electrothermal AAS determination of platinum has been developed. The pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate complexes of either Pt⁴⁺ or Pt²⁺, formed in 0.7 mol L^–1 HNO₃, are on-line adsorbed on the inner walls of a PTFE knotted reactor and subsequently eluted with methanol. An enhancement factor of 112 and a detection limit (3 σ) of 10 ng L^–1 along with a sampling frequency of 21 h^–1 are achieved with a 90 s preconcentration time at a sample flow rate of 8.8 mL min^–1. The relative standard deviation is 2.5% for 0.4 μg L^–1 Pt. The method has been applied to the determination of platinum in blood samples.     

Flame AAS determination of thallium in soils

The anion-exchange enrichment of TlCl(-)(4) coupled to flame AAS is applied to the determination of the total, pseudo-total (not bound in the silicate matrix) and mobile (plant available) content of thallium in soils. Ascorbic acid is used as a new efficient eluent of thallium. The limit of detection of the method is 0.04,mug/g, the relative standard deviation at the 1 mug/g level is about 3%. The method is rapid and simple.     

A study of the contrast on growth striations in silicon by X-ray double crystal topography in the Laue case

The image of growth striations in Si formed by the double crystal X-ray topography in the Laue case (DCTL) is investigated. The results of the dynamical diffraction theory for crystals with small microdefects have been compared with the contrast behaviour determined experimentally. It has been found that the theory explains qualitatively the contrast on the striations and it has been demonstrated that the DCTL method is suitable for detection of the presence of small microdefects in growth striations. Since the paper completes a series of papers on X-ray topography of growth striations, some general conclusions are formulated concerning the applicability of the X-ray topographical methods to the investigation of the structure of the growth striations
