Molecular self-assembly is central to many processes in both biology and supramolecular chemistry. The G-quartet, a hydrogen-bonded macrocycle formed by cation-templated assembly of guanosine, was first identified in 1962 as the basis for the aggregation of 5'-guanosine monophosphate. We now know that many nucleosides, oligonucleotides, and synthetic derivatives form a rich array of functional G-quartets. The G-quartet surfaces in areas ranging from structural biology and medicinal chemistry to supramolecular chemistry and nanotechnology. This Review integrates and summarizes knowledge gained from these different areas, with emphasis on G-quartet structure, function, and molecular recognition.  相似文献

Interest in the synthesis of procyanidin (catechin or epicatechin) oligomers that contain the 4→8 interflavan linkage remains high, principally due to research into their health effects. A novel coupling utilising a C8-boronic acid as a directing group was developed in the synthesis of natural procyanidin B3 (i.e., 3,4-trans-(+)-catechin-4α→8-(+)-catechin dimer). The key interflavan bond was forged using a novel Lewis acid-promoted coupling of C4-ether 6 with C8-boronic acid 16 to provide the α-linked dimer with high diastereoselectivity. Through the use of a boron protecting group, the new coupling procedure was extended to the synthesis of a protected procyanidin trimer analogous to natural procyanidin C2.  相似文献

Novel nonfluorinated Cu(diketiminate)L complexes with L = neutral olefinic ligand have been prepared as stable, volatile Cu(I) precursors for the deposition of copper films by an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process. Among them, the complexes of 4-a and 5-a are the most volatile and stable at low temperature (55 degrees C). A clean, conformal copper film was deposited at 120 degrees C in an ALD process. These Cu(I) complexes are the first examples of nonfluorinated copper(I) diketiminates that can be readily applied to an industrial microelectronic fabrication process.  相似文献

This Letter describes the synthetic challenges in synthesising key 1,4-cis-substituted cyclohexylamide intermediate 1 for our research programme. Five different routes address the major issues of selectivity to afford the cis product in isomerically pure form and in high yield. Major purification issues were also encountered upon scaling some of the routes. The merits of the diverse routes are assessed and the reasoning given for which one was ultimately used for large-scale synthesis of 1.  相似文献

Lipophilic guanosine derivatives that form G-quadruplexes are promising building blocks for ionophores and ion channels. Herein, cation exchange between solvated cations (K+ and NH4+) and bound cations in the G-quadruplex [G1]16.4Na+.4DNP- was studied by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and solution 1H, 15N NMR spectroscopy. The ESI-MS and 1H NMR data provided evidence for the formation of mixed-cationic Na+, K+ G-quadruplexes. The use of 15NH4+ cations in NMR titrations, along with 15N-filtered 1H NMR and selective NOE experiments, identified two mixed-cationic intermediates in the cation exchange pathway from [G1]16.4Na+.4DNP- to [G1]16.4NH4+.4DNP-. The central Na+, bound between the two symmetry-related G8-Na+ octamers, exchanges with either K+ or NH4+ before the two outer Na+ ions situated within the C4 symmetric G8 octamers. A structural rationale, based on differences in the cations' octahedral coordination geometries, is proposed to explain the differences in site exchange for these lipophilic G-quadruplexes. Large cations such as Cs+ can be exchanged into the central cation binding site that holds the two symmetry-related C4 symmetric G8 octamer units together. The potential relevance of these findings to both supramolecular chemistry and DNA G-quadruplex structure are discussed.  相似文献
