The specific contribution of phosphorus in dendrimer chemistry

Besides properties commonly found for all types of dendrimers, phosphorus-containing dendrimers possess some specific properties seldom or never found for other types of dendrimers. Emphasis will be put on these specificities.     

A new supramolecular assembly obtained from the combination of silver(I) cations with a thiophosphorylated cavitand

The new tetra-thiophosphonatocavitand 1 in its iiii configuration extracts quantitatively Ag+ ions from aqueous solutions; the tetranuclear complex [1(2).Ag4Pic4] was selectively formed and characterized in the solid state by X-ray diffraction which revealed the formation of a new dimeric assembly through Ag+ coordination.     

Expression of the prohelicity of bis-cyclomanganated 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline through reactions with diaryldiazomethanes

The reactions of bis-cyclomanganated 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline with diazodiphenylmethane and 9-diazofluorene allowed the formation of a new oligomeric and dinuclear manganospiralene and the ready preparation of a pentacyclic helix comprising two (eta 5-fluorenyl)Mn(CO)3 fragments, whose helicity can be locked upon one-dimensional linear coordination to silver cation.     

Bis(isoquinoline N-oxide) pincers as a new type of metal cation dual channel fluorosensor

[structure: see text] A new type of donor-spacer-acceptor podand system has been synthesized and proved as an efficient dual channel fluorosensor for Li+, Mg2+, and Ca2+. The known ability for the N-oxide function to bind Lewis acids is the key step in the appearance of a new emitting charge-transfer (CT) excited state. The occurrence of this CT state for alkaline earth (Mg2+ and Ca2+) and not for alkaline metals (Li+) provided a new type of dual channel fluorosensors.     

Euclidian distance-weighted smoothing for quantitative MRI: application to intervoxel anisotropy index mapping with DTI

During the computation of intervoxel anisotropy features, the inclusion of both eigenvalues and eigenvectors reduces the effect of noise, but spatial averaging blurs the resulting maps. We propose a new adaptive technique that uses data-dependent weights in the averaging process so that the influence of each neighbor in the local window is proportional to the similarity of characteristics of the neighbor considered to those of the reference central voxel. This likeness criterion is based on the multidimensional Euclidian distance using the entire available multispectral information contained in the diffusion-weighted images. This solution is controlled by a single parameter beta that results from a compromise between edge-preserving and noise-smoothing abilities. This Euclidian distance-weighted technique is a generic solution for filtering noise during parametric reconstruction. It was applied to map anisotropy using an intervoxel lattice index (LI) from experimental images of mouse brain in vivo and achieves noise reduction without distorting small anatomical structures. We also show how to employ in the discrimination scheme the images not used in the estimation of the considered feature.

We study the set of solutions of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in R^d, d <3. We consider the global attracting set (i.e., the forward map of the set of bounded initial data), and restrict it to a cube Q_L of side L. We cover this set by a (minimal) number N_QL(l) of balls of radius l in $L^infin(Q_L). We show that the Kolmogorov l-entropy per unit length, $L^infin(Q_L). Sur la structure des alkylcycloarsoxanes (RAsO)α

Organometallic compounds of general formula (RAsO)_α are associated as trimers (R = C₂H₅, C₃H₇, C₄H₉) or even as a tetramer (R = CH₃). Their physicochemical properties show them to be cyclic, the oxygen atoms being located in the bridging position. A “limited” electron delocalization may occur in these rings.     

Thermodynamic study of alkali sulphates: Calculation of enthalpy,entropy and Gibbs free energy

Joined with measures of specific heat at low temperature , a calorimetric study of alkali sulphates from ordinary temperature to 1500 K has allowed the calculation of enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs free energy of these salts. The value of entropy at melting point is compared with the value assessed by an acoustical method.
