Induction asymetrique—II: Determination des configurations relatives de δ-amino β-hydroxyesters diastereoisomeres,obtenus par la reaction de reformatsky

Addition of Reformatsky reagents (R₁-CHZnBr-CO₂R) to three β-aminoketones, yields mixtures of threo and erythro diastereomeric aminohydroxyesters. The relative configurations of the first members of each series (R₁CH₃), were determined by chemical correlation. Those of higher homologues (R₁C₂H₅, iC₃H₇,tC₄H₉) are assigned by a study of their NMR spectra.     

Sequential closure in product spaces

Let X denote the product of m-many second countable Hausdorff spaces. Main theorems: (1) If S?X is invariant under compositions, m is weakly accessible (resp., nonmeasurable), and F?S is sequentially closed and a sequential G_σ-set which is invariant under projections for finite sets (resp., F?S is sequentially open and sequentially closed), then F is closed. (2) If S?X is invariant under projections and m is nonmeasurable, then every sequentially continuous {0, 1} valued function on S is continuous. (3) A sequentially continuous {0, 1}-valued function on an m-adic space of nonmeasurable weight is continuous. Now let X denote the product of arbitrarily many W-spaces and S?X be invariant under compositions. (4) Then in S, the closure of any Q-open subset coincides with its sequential closure.     

CI calculations concerning the styrene cis-trans photoisomerization

Using minimal basis sets, the ionic and diradical excited states of the twisted styrene molecule have been calculated through extended CI, after appropriate SCF procedures. The lowest excited state is a diradical, and the photoisomerization should not involve the ionic state.     

A Tverberg-type generalization of the Helly number of a convexity space

In 1966 H. Tverberg gave a far reaching generalization of the well-known classical theorem of J. Radon. In this paper a similar generalization of the classical Helly theorem is given and it is shown that among these two generalized theorems a relationship holds similar to a theorem proved by F.W. Levi in 1951. Also the generalized Helly theorem in the convex product and convex sum space are investigated.     

Complete Racemization in the Base Hydrolysis of Optically Active mer-[Chloro(diethylene triamine) (1,3-diaminopropan-2-ol-N,N′) cobalt (III)]tetrachlorozincate

The base hydrolysis of the optically active title compound proceeds with full racemization whilst the meridional arrangement of the diethylenetriamine ligand is fully retained. The optically active hydroxo complex prepared independently with retention of configuration racemizes ? 10⁴ times slower. This unique result is discussed in terms of the classical π-stabilization hypothesis for the base hydrolysis mechanism.     

PAMAM dendrimers for efficient siRNA delivery and potent gene silencing

Genuine, nondegraded PAMAM dendrimers self-assemble with siRNA into nanoscale particles that are efficient for siRNA delivery and induce potent endogenous gene silencing.
