For a simple graph of maximum degree Δ, it is always possible to color the edges with Δ + 1 colors (Vizing); furthermore, if the set of vertices of maximum degree is independent, Δ colors suffice (Fournier). In this article, we give a short constructive proof of an extension of these results to multigraphs. Instead of considering several color interchanges along alternating chains (Vizing, Gupta), using counting arguments (Ehrenfeucht, Faber, Kierstead), or improving nonvalid colorings with Fournier's Lemma, the method of proof consists of using one single easy transformation, called “sequential recoloring”, to augment a partial k-coloring of the edges. 相似文献

In the introduction of the Arithmetica Diophantus says that in order to solve arithmetical problems one has to “follow the way he (Diophantus) will show.” The present paper has a threefold objective. Firstly, the meaning of this sentence is discussed, the conclusion being that Diophantus had elaborated a program for handling various arithmetical problems. Secondly, it is claimed that what is analyzed in the introduction is definitions of several terms, the exhibition of their symbolism, the way one may operate with them, but, most significantly, the main stages of the program itself. Theoretical investigations and the results of computer modeling of the optical, thermophysical, and thermochemical processes during laser interaction with ocular tissues are reviewed in this paper. Physical-mathematical models and results of numerical simulation of the processes are presented. The computer modeling was applied for investigations of laser heating and coagulation of ocular tissues for treatment of retina diseases and intraocular tumors, cyclophotocoagulation of the ciliary body for treatment of glaucoma, and laser thermal keratoplasty of the cornea. The influence of radiation parameters on the selectivity of laser coagulation of laminated ocular tissues is considered. The results obtained are of essential interest for laser applications in ophthalmology and can be used for investigation of heating and coagulation of tissues in different fields of laser medicine. 相似文献

Assume the coincidence of the values of the solution at the boundary points of the Nj for all times and a transmission condition relating its first (one-sided) space derivatives at these points. Under a symmetry condition, we extend the spatial part of the equation and the transmission conditions to a self-adjoint operator (by Friedrichs extension) and reformulate our problem in terms of an abstract wave equation in a suitable Hilbert space. We derive an expansion of the solution in generalized eigenfunctions of this self-adjoint extension and show, that the L∞-norms (in space) of the solution and its first k space derivatives at the time t decay for t → ∞ at least as const. t¼, if the initial conditions satisfy a compatibility condition of order k derived in this paper. The loss of decay rate in comparison with the full line case (const. t?½, cf. [28]) is caused by the tunnel effect. Further we show that an abstract wave equation in a Hilbert space with a Friedrichs extension as spatial part can always be derived from a stationarity principle for an associated action-type functional. This yields a physical legitimation of our model by the principle of stationary action and moreover a criterion for the physical interpretability of all models created by the linear interaction concept [4, 6, 8, 10], in particular for the coupling of media of different dimension (alternative to [13, 16] for similar models). 相似文献

A series of 7-amino- and polyaminosterol analogues of squalamine and trodusquemine were synthesized involving a new stereoselective titanium reductive amination reaction in high chemical yields of up to 95% in numerous cases. These derivatives were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial properties against human pathogens. All the compounds present excellent activities against Gram-positive bacteria exhibiting similar results against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus faecalis with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) varying from 2.5 to 10 μg/mL. Numerous derivatives possess also MICs against Gram-negative Escherichia coli bacteria (MICs varying from 2.5 to 10 μg/mL) suggesting that nature of the amino group attached to the sterol moiety plays an important role on the activities of such products. 相似文献
