NMR spectroscopy has been used to investigate the conformational effects of single and two consecutive 3'-S-phosphorothiolate modifications within a deoxythymidine trinucleotide. The presence of a single 3'-phosphorothioate modification shifts the conformation of the sugar ring it is attached to, from a mainly south to north pucker; this effect is also transmitted to the 3'-neighbour deoxyribose. This transmission is thought to be caused by favourable stacking of the heterocyclic bases. Similar observations have been made previously by this group. When two adjacent modifications are present, the conformations of the attached deoxyribose rings are again shifted almost completely to the north, however, there is no transmission to the 3' deoxyribose ring. Base proton chemical shift analysis and molecular modelling have been used to aid elucidation of the origin of this feature. The observation for the dimodified sequence is consistent with our previously reported results for a related system in which spaced modifications are more thermodynamically stable than consecutive ones.  相似文献

The diamagnetic susceptibility of a hydrogenic donor in GaAs/ AlxGa1-xAs semiconductor nanostructured systems like Quantum Well Wire and Quantum Dot has been computed for various cross-sectional geometries of these systems for various width of the confining potential in the effective mass approximation using variational method. The non parabolicity of the conduction band has also been included. This calculation may throw some light on the effect of geometries on the semiconductor–metal transition in these systems.  相似文献

Ultrasonic signals received by pulse echo technique from plane parallel Zircaloy 2 samples of fixed thickness and of three different microstructures, were subjected to signal analysis, as conventional parameters like velocity and attenuation could not reliably discriminate them. The signals, obtained from these samples, were first sampled and digitized. Modified Karhunen Loeve Transform was used to reduce their dimensionality. A multilayered feed forward Artificial Neural Network was trained using a few signals in their reduced domain from the three different microstructures. The rest of the signals from the three samples with different microstructures were classified satisfactorily using this network.  相似文献

A feasibility study of using high injection voltage and spiral inflector in the present heavy ion central region of VEC is described. Conditions necessary for waist-to-waist transfer of the ion beam in the hole lens of main magnet have been obtained. The results of orbit studies of a variety of heavy ions indicate that a spiral inflector can be used in the central region.  相似文献

The residual stress instituted in Ni-Mn-Ga thin films during deposition is a key parameter influencing their shape memory applications by affecting its structural and magnetic properties. A series of Ni-Mn-Ga thin films were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering on Si(1 0 0) and glass substrates at four different sputtering powers of 25, 45, 75 and 100 W for systematic investigation of the residual stress and its effect on structure and magnetic properties. The residual stresses in thin films were characterized by a laser scanning technique. The as-deposited films were annealed at 600 °C for 1 h in vacuum for structural and magnetic ordering. The compressive stresses observed in as-deposited films transformed into tensile stresses upon annealing. The annealed films were found to be crystalline and possess mixed phases of both austenite and martensite, exhibiting good soft magnetic properties. It was found that the increase of sputtering power induced coarsening in thin films. Typical saturation magnetization and coercivity values were found to be 330 emu/cm3 and 215 Oe, respectively. The films deposited at 75 and 100 W display both structural and magnetic transitions above room temperature.  相似文献

Lead metal ions are of great concern and the monitoring of their concentration in the environment has become extremely important. In the present study, a new inorganic-organic hybrid assay of Ag nanorods (AgNR)-Rhodamine 6G (R6G) was developed for the sensitive and selective determination of Pb(2+) ions in aqueous solutions. To the best of our knowledge there is almost no literature on the use of silver nanorod sensors for determination of lead ions in aqueous solutions. The sensor is developed by the coating of R6G on the surface of AgNRs. The sensing is based on the photoluminescence of R6G. The sensor was rapid as the measurements were carried out within 3 min of addition of the test solution to the AgNR-R6G hybrid. Moreover, the system showed excellent stability at tested concentration levels of Pb(2+) ions. The naked eye detection of the colour was possible with 1 mg L(-1) of Pb(2+) ions. The present method has a detection limit of 50 μg L(-1) of Pb(2+) (for a signal/noise (S/N) ratio > 3). The selectivity toward Pb(2+) ions against other metal ions was improved using chelating agents. The proposed method was validated by analysis using different techniques.  相似文献

A hydrophobic pentadecapeptide, AGAAAA-GAVVGGLGG (1), part of the prion sequence PrP (106-127), on fresh aqueous dissolution takes a mixture of random and sheet conformations which forms a stable monolayer with a high beta-sheet content when compressed at the air-water interface. NIR-FT Raman and FT-IR spectra of columbianadin, extracted from seeds and roots of Heracleum candolleaum, were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational frequencies of the compound have been computed using semi-empirical AM1 method and compared with experimental values. The C=O stretching frequencies of the carbonyl groups have been lowered due to conjugation. The CH stretching and bending vibrations of CH3 groups of the ester part indicate the presence of hyperconjugation effect. Characteristic ring vibrations have also been identified.  相似文献

The main objective of this work was to develop a system consisting of polymeric microspheres loaded with steroid drugs. The drugs were encapsulated using biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) and poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) by double emulsion solvent evaporation method. The lipophilic drugs, levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol were made soluble by adding ethanol/water mixture. The effects of parameters like polymer concentration and stabilizer concentration were studied on the size, size distribution, surface properties and loading efficiencies of microspheres. The formulated microspheres were smooth, spherical and uniform in shape and size. Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry studies seemed to confirm the absence of chemical interaction between the drugs and the polymers, while the drugs were dispersed in the polymer. The increase in polymer concentrations increased the size as well as the loading efficiency of microspheres. Data obtained in this study demonstrated that the PLG/PCL microspheres may be a suitable polymeric carrier for long acting injectable drug delivery.  相似文献
