Summary Many network routing problems, particularly where the transportation of hazardous materials is involved, are multiobjective in nature; that is, it is desired to optimise not only physical path length but other features as well. Several such problems are defined here and a general framework for multiobjective routing problems is proposed. The notion of “efficient solution” is defined and it is demonstrated, by means of an example, that a problem may have very many solutions which are efficient. Next, potentially useful solution methods for multiobjective routing problems are discussed with emphasis being placed on the use of shortest/k-shortest path techniques. Background  

Multiple sclerosis (MS) varies considerably in its incidence and progression in females and males. In spite of clinical evidence, relatively few studies have explored molecular mechanisms possibly involved in gender-related differences. The present study describes possible cellular- and molecular-involved markers which are differentially regulated in male and female rats and result in gender-dependent EAE evolution and progression. Attention was focused on markers of myelination (MBP and PDGFαR) and neuronal distress and/or damage (GABA synthesis enzymes, GAD65 and GAD67, NGF, BDNF and related receptors), in two CNS areas, i.e. spinal cord and cerebellum, which are respectively severely and mildly affected by inflammation and demyelination. Tissues were sampled during acute, relapse/remission and chronic phases and results were analysed by two-way ANOVA.  相似文献

This paper explores chaotic behaviour and control of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), which consist of thousands of small read/write probe tips that access gigabytes of data stored in a non-volatile magnetic surface. The model of the system is formed by two masses connected by a nonlinear spring and a viscous damping. The paper shows that, by means of an adequate feedback law, the masses can behave as two coupled Duffing’s oscillators, which may reach chaotic behaviour when harmonic forces are applied. The chaotic motion is destroyed by applying the following control strategies: (i) static output feedback control law with constant forces and (ii) geometric nonlinear control. The aim is to drive the masses to a set point even with harmonic base excitation, by using chaotic dynamics and nonlinear control. The paper shows that it is possible to obtain a positioning time around a few ms with sub-nanometre accuracy, velocities, accelerations and forces, as it appears in the design of present MEMS devices. Numerical simulations are used to verify the mathematical discussions.  相似文献

Trace level vanadium determination is reported using a dual beam thermal lens spectrometer. The thermal lens was generated using an argon ion beam laser (pump beam) which was focused into a sample cuvette. The thermal lens signal (TLs) was monitored with a He-Ne laser beam and a photodiode detector. Multichannel averager software was developed for processing the transient TLs. The optimal set up, ensuring maximum sensitivity and linear calibration graphs was obtained using experimental design techniques. Under optimized conditions, the detection limits for aqueous and ethanol-water (2+3 v/v) and (4+1 v/v) vanadium complex solutions were, respectively, 0.0071 mg/l, 0.0065 and 0.0039 mg/l.  相似文献

An automatic flow method for the determination of total aliphatic amines has been developed. Using an integrated micro extraction unit at the detection point that allows continuous on-line monitoring of small organic plug from which amines are extracted. It is based on the formation of ion-pairs between aliphatic amines and sodium 1,2-naphthoquinone-5-sulphonate that are subsequently extracted into chloroform. The gradual enrichment of the organic phase with the ion-pair is continuously monitored at 460 nm. Absorbance readings at a fixed time and the slopes of absorbance-time recordings are the measured parameters used for determination purposes. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of total aliphatic amines in both synthetic and real (food) samples.  相似文献

Ni‐CeO2 is a highly efficient, stable and non‐expensive catalyst for methane dry reforming at relative low temperatures (700 K). The active phase of the catalyst consists of small nanoparticles of nickel dispersed on partially reduced ceria. Experiments of ambient pressure XPS indicate that methane dissociates on Ni/CeO2 at temperatures as low as 300 K, generating CHx and COx species on the surface of the catalyst. Strong metal–support interactions activate Ni for the dissociation of methane. The results of density‐functional calculations show a drop in the effective barrier for methane activation from 0.9 eV on Ni(111) to only 0.15 eV on Ni/CeO2?x(111). At 700 K, under methane dry reforming conditions, no signals for adsorbed CHx or C species are detected in the C 1s XPS region. The reforming of methane proceeds in a clean and efficient way.  相似文献

The purpose of this work is to analyse certain kinetic features related to thermoinduced and photoinduced isothermal curing in the 25/75 mass% bis-GMA/TEGDMA system. The kinetic parameters associated with photo and thermal curing were determined and compared using an isoconversional procedure and the kinetic model was obtained by means of a reduced master plot. In photocuring, the kinetic results obtained by means of this phenomenological methodology were compared with those obtained on the basis of mechanistic considerations. In this case, we estimated the propagation and termination constants associated with photocuring at different conversions. When the phenomenological procedure is performed, the rate constant decreases slightly during the curing process and the autoacceleration effect of the process is demonstrated in the kinetic model, which is autocatalytic. However, in the mechanistic model, this same effect is noted through an increase in the rate constants, while it is assumed that the kinetic model is in the order of n with n=1.  相似文献
