Lattice point theory in polyhedra

The exact order of the remainder term is determined in the formula for the number of lattice points in the region α₁∥u₁ + b₁∥ + α₂∥u₂ + b₂∥ + … + α_r∥u_r + b_r∥ ≤ x in dependence on the arithmetical properties of the coefficients α₁, α₂,…, α_r.     

Quantum statistics of parametric amplification

Quantum statistical properties of the parametric amplification and generation are investigated. The losses are included and the pump field is treated classically. It is shown that the normal counting generating function decomposes into the product of two functions which are the generating functions for the superposition of coherent and chaotic field and that the outputting field exhibits the anticorrelation effect when the phase of incident fields fulfil a certain condition.The authors thank Mrs A.Mikulecká from Laboratory of Computer Science of Palacký University for performing computations.     

Quarks and leptons as composite goldstone fermions

A dynamical scheme for composite quarks and leptons is proposed in which the observed fermions are Goldstone particles of spontaneously broken supersymmetry. Their residual interactions are described by a minimal effective lagrangian which invokes a non-linear realization of sypersymmetry. Possible experimental consequences are studied and it is found that the most conspicuous signature of this scheme would be a dramatic increase in the lepton pair production in hadronic collisions, particularly in $\text{pp}$ scattering, at high energy.     

Die Stabilität der Kobalt(II)- und Kupfer(II)-Komplexe mit α-, β- und γ-Aminobutyrat

Stability constants of cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes with α-, β-, and γ-aminobutyrate as well as the protonation constants of these ligands have been determined by potentiometric titration. ΔG ^? values, computed from the stability constants, increase in the orderAABA. The increase in ΔG ^? AABA→BABA amounts approx. 15 per cent. The same difference was observed for α- and β-alaninato complexes with various transition metal ions.

Some isomeric hydrocarbons with nearly identical mass spectra show significant differences in the spectra of neutral fragments, these spectra being determined by measuring the decompositions of metastable ions.     

The fractal dimension of the sem-picture of slip lines

Computer experiments modelling the plastic slip deformation of an idealized single crystal have shown that under certain conditions the fractal exponentD of the slip line pattern on the crystal surface may differ from the value ofD established on the picture of this surface.

A new method of measuring the reflectivity factor

A new method is given of measuring reflectivity and compared with methods known up to now, which are characterized briefly. The applicability and suitability of the given method is shown on an example of measurement of the reflectivity of germanium in the ultra-violet and visible regions.
