The measurement and analysis of broad nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of quasicrystals require experimental methods and theoretical interpretations different from NMR investigations of regular periodic crystals. Frequency- and field-sweep methods for recording quasicrystalline NMR spectra are described and compared with the measurement of27Al NMR spectra of icosahedral AlPdMn and decagonal AlNiCo quasicrystals. The nuclear spin interactions that determine the NMR line shape are the same for both types of the above Al-based quasicrystals, where the electric quadrupolar interaction with the broad distribution of its electric field gradient parameters predominantly determines the shape of the broad satellite “background” intensity. The essential observations are an almost isotropic27Al NMR spectrum of the icosahedral quasicrystals and a strong angular dependence of the spectrum of decagonal quasicrystals.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the notion of Laplacian spectrum of an infinite countable graph in a different way than in the papers by B. Mohar. We prove some basic properties of this type of spectrum. The approach used is in line with our approach to the limiting spectrum of an infinite graph. The technique of the Laplacian spectrum of finite graphs is essential in this approach.  相似文献

Modulation instability and pattern formation by spatially incoherent light is investigated experimentally in a nonlinear ring cavity using a photorefractive strontium barium niobate crystal as the nonlinear medium. A step-like threshold for the onset of pattern formation is observed experimentally for the case of high optical feedback. When compared to the case without feedback, this threshold is shifted towards smaller nonlinearities and a significant increase of the modulation degree of the obtained patterns is obtained. Our measurements also show that, above threshold, the dominating spatial frequency of the patterns decreases monotonically with both increasing nonlinearity and increasing feedback. In an earlier paper 3 , we studied cycles in graphs that intersect all edge‐cuts of prescribed sizes. Passing to a more general setting, we examine the existence of T‐joins in grafts that intersect all edge‐cuts whose size is in a given set A ?{1,2,3}. In particular, we characterize all the contraction‐minimal grafts admitting no T‐joins that intersect all edge‐cuts of size 1 and 2. A strong increase of the thermal conductivity is observed at the phase transition (T c=18.2 K) in Cu2Te2O5Cl2 single crystal. This behavior is compared with that of the spin-Peierls system NaV2O5, where a similar experimental observation has been made, and the conventional spin-Peierls system CuGeO3, where a modest kink in the thermal conductivity curve has been observed. The strong increase of the thermal conductivity atT c in Cu2Te2O5Cl2 could be partially attributed to the opening of the energy gap in the magnetic excitation spectrum evident from the magnetic susceptibility measurements. However, the main reason for the anomaly of the thermal conductivity could be explained by a strong spin-lattice coupling in this system, which what is in agreement with the preliminary X-band electron spin resonance measurement.  相似文献

The impurity photoconductivity spectra of Ge/Ge1−x Six strained heterostructures with quantum wells are investigated. It is established that the built-in deformation in quantum-size Ge layers substantially changes the spectrum of shallow acceptors, shifting it into the long-wavelength region of the far-IR range. In strong magnetic fields the photoconductivity lines are observed to split and shift as a function of the field. This makes it possible to carry out a classification of the transitions. Bi(Pb)–Sr–Ca–Cu–O layers were prepared by laser ablation in air, that is without using a vacuum chamber. At this method a much higher density of pulse energy of laser beam is required (10–30 J cm–2) in comparison with the standard method (1–3 J cm–2). The mentioned condition has specific effects on the nature of the transport of material from the target. As follows from the electron microprobe analysis of the layers, the starting composition of the transported material is identical with that of the superconducting phase sintered in the target; one exception represents Pb, the content of which in the transported material is lower. The image of the process is complemented by UV/VIS spectroscopy scans of the plasma plume.  相似文献
