Lie algebras with few centralizers

We will characterize all finite dimensional Lie algebras with at most |F|²+|F|+2 centralizers, where F is the underlying field of Lie algebras under consideration.     

Investigation of metal absorption and antibacterial activity on cotton fabric modified by low temperature plasma

In this work, the silver particle absorption and antibacterial activity of cotton fabric when modified by low temperature plasma were investigated. The modification consisted of plasma pre-functionalization followed by one-step wet treatment with silver nitrate solution. Oxygen and nitrogen were used as the working gases in the system, and the results were compared. The results showed that nitrogen plasma-treated samples can absorb more silver particles than oxygen-treated samples, and thus the antibacterial activity of the samples in this case, which was analyzed by the counting bacteria test, was increased considerably.     

Experimental and quantum chemical study on the IR, UV and electrode potential of 6-(2,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2-phenyl-1H-inden-2-yl)-2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde

Electrode potential of 6-(2,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2-phenyl-1H-inden-2-yl)-2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (DPDB) in methanol have been calculated theoretically. For the achievement of this task, the density functional theory (B3LYP/6-31G(d)) was employed with the inclusion of the entropic and thermochemical corrections to yield the free energies of the redox reactions. The electrode potential was also obtained experimentally by means of an electrochemical technique (cyclic voltammetry). The geometric parameters, the vibrational frequency values and the UV spectrum of DPDB and 2-(2,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2-phenyl-1H-inden-2-yl)-5,6-dioxocyclohexa-1,3-dienecarbaldehyde (DPDD is the oxidized form of DPDB), were computed using the same methods. The calculated IR spectrum of DPDB, used for the assignment of the IR frequencies, was observed in the experimental FT-IR spectrum. The correlation between the theoretical and experimental DPDB vibrational frequencies was 0.996. This agreement mutually verified the accuracy of the experimental method and the validity of the applied mathematical model.     

Efficient Synthesis of Bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane Systems via Tandem 1,3-Dinucleophilic Addition of 4-Hydroxy-2-quinolinones to Quinolinium Salts

The synthesis of bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane systems is reported. The synthesis is based on the tandem 1,3-dinucleophilic addition of 4-hydroxy-2-quinolinone to quinolinium salts.     

Nano-sized manganese oxide: a proposed catalyst for water oxidation in the reaction of some manganese complexes and cerium(iv) ammonium nitrate

According to UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction spectrometry, dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, nano-sized manganese oxides are proposed as active catalysts for water oxidation in the reaction of some manganese complexes and cerium(iv) ammonium nitrate.     

An Efficient Four‐component Synthesis of Spiro[indoline‐pyrazolo[4′,3′:5,6]pyrido[2,3‐d]pyrimidine]triones

A four‐component reaction in the presence of Alum [KAl(SO₄)₂·12H₂O] as an inexpensive and reusable catalyst using the ionic liquid as an effective green reaction media is reported.     

Homotopy analysis solution of free convection flow on a horizontal impermeable surface embedded in a saturated porous medium

In this paper, the analytic solution of the buoyancy-driven flow over a horizontal impermeable flat plate embedded in a saturated porous medium is derived using the newly developed analytic method, namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The HAM results show great agreement comparing with numerical results. HAM contains an auxiliary parameter ? that provides a simple way of controlling and adjusting the convergence region. The resultant analytic solution is valid for all acceptable values of the temperature exponent parameter λ.     

On the relation between interior critical points and parameters for a class of nonlinear problems with Neumann–Robin boundary conditions

We consider boundary value problem

where   0, λ > 0 are parameters and f  C²[0, ∞) such that f(0) < 0. In this paper we study for the cases p  (0, β) and p  (β, θ) (p is the value of the solution at x = 0 and β, θ are such that f(β) = 0, , the relation between λ and the number of interior critical points of the positive solutions of the above system.
