We report the realization of a compact monolithically integrated all-optical switch using selective area bandgap tuning of a multiple quantum well structure by impurity-free vacancy induced disordering technique. A 3-dB waveguide coupler was fabricated in the disordered section of the switch device. All-optical wavelength conversion at 1Gb/s was demonstrated.  相似文献

Ginseng-derived gintonin reportedly contains functional lysophosphatidic acids (LPAs) as LPA receptor ligands. The effect of the gintonin-enriched fraction (GEF) on in vitro and in vivo glucagon-like protein-1 (GLP-1) secretion, which is known to stimulate insulin secretion, via LPA receptor(s) remains unclear. Accordingly, we examined the effects of GEF on GLP-1 secretion using human enteroendocrine NCI-H716 cells. The expression of several of LPA receptor subtypes in NCI-H716 cells using qPCR and Western blotting was examined. LPA receptor subtype expression was in the following order: LPA6 > LPA2 > LPA4 > LPA5 > LPA1 (qPCR), and LPA6 > LPA4 > LPA2 > LPA1 > LPA3 > LPA5 (Western blotting). GEF-stimulated GLP-1 secretion occurred in a dose- and time-dependent manner, which was suppressed by cAMP-Rp, a cAMP antagonist, but not by U73122, a phospholipase C inhibitor. Furthermore, silencing the human LPA6 receptor attenuated GEF-mediated GLP-1 secretion. In mice, low-dose GEF (50 mg/kg, peroral) increased serum GLP-1 levels; this effect was not blocked by Ki16425 co-treatment. Our findings indicate that GEF-induced GLP-1 secretion could be achieved via LPA6 receptor activation through the cAMP pathway. Hence, GEF-induced GLP secretion via LPA6 receptor regulation might be responsible for its beneficial effects on human endocrine physiology.  相似文献

In this work, red mud (RM) was chemically modified by 0.1, 1, and 5 M H(3)PO(4) solution to prepare epoxy/RM nanocomposites. The effect of chemical treatment on a RM surface was studied in terms of pH, acid-base values, N(2)/77 K gas adsorption, equilibrium spreading pressure (pi(e)), and surface free energy. The mechanical interfacial properties of epoxy/RM nanocomposites was measured in the context of critical stress intensity factor (K(IC)) and critical strain energy release rate (G(IC)) measurements. From the experimental results, the acidic surface treatment led to a modification of the RM surface properties, such as the surface acid values, porosity, specific surface area, pi(e), and London dispersive component (gamma(S)(L)) of surface free energy of the treated RM as an increase of the treatment concentration. In the fracture toughness (K(IC) and G(IC)) measurements, the mechanical interfacial properties of epoxy/treated RM nanocomposites were intimately correlated with the improvement of interfacial adhesion between the RM surface and a matrix and the increase of gamma(S)(L) of surface free energy of the RM due to the development of S(BET) or porosity of RM surfaces.  相似文献

Polyurethane/montmorillonite (PU/MMT) nanocomposites were prepared via in situ polymerization from highly crystalline poly(butylene succinate)/poly(ethylene glycol) polyols and 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate, using both 1,4-butanediol and 1, 2, or 3 wt.% of a tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane-MMT hybrid, as chain extenders. The corresponding nanocomposites were designated PU-1MMT, PU-2MMT and PU-3MMT, respectively. The layered silicates were mostly intercalated in the nanocomposites. The distances between the individual silicate layers in the PU-1MMT and PU-2MMT were in the range of 2-10 nm, while those in the PU-3MMT were only about 2 nm. The inefficient exfoliation of the clay in this system was mainly due to the high crystallinity and polarity of the PBS polyol. There were no significant changes in the thermal properties of the pure PU and PU nanocomposites. However, the tensile modulus and elongation of the PU-2MMT at break were significantly greater than those of the pure PU and PU-3MMT.  相似文献

The present study concerns the physical activation and chemical oxidation of pitch-based activated carbon fibers (ACFs) as ways to improve the adsorption properties. The surface oxides of the ACFs studied were determined by Boehm's titration and the pore structures were studied by the BET method with N(2)/77 K adsorption. Also, the adsorption properties of the ACFs were investigated with chromium ion adsorption by different adsorption models. As a result, it was observed that carboxyl groups were largely created after nitric acid treatment on ACFs. The affinity for chromium ions increases with increasing specific surface area, micropore volume, and surface functionalities of ACFs as the activation time increases.  相似文献

The performance of plasma surface modified silica filler in styrene‐butadiene rubber (SBR) matrix has been analyzed. The conditions of plasma modification have been optimized by taking secant modulus as a standard parameter and the occurrence of the modification has been confirmed by surface area determination and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The plasma‐modified surface of silica has been found to be composed of carbon–carbon double bonds and carbon–hydrogen bonds. Silane treatment also has been carried out on silica filler surface for a comparative assessment of its influence in the curing behavior and filler–rubber interaction. The cure reactions of all the rubber compounds have been found to be proceeded according to first‐order kinetics. A reduction in the cure reaction rate constant has been observed with the loading of unmodified and surface modified silica, emphasizing the cure deactivation of the matrix rubber by the silica filler. The filler dispersion, as revealed by scanning electron microscopy, has been found to be greatly improved by the plasma as well as silane treatment. The filler–rubber interaction has been found to be greatly improved by both surface treatments, but the best balance of mechanical properties has been observed with plasma surface modification only. The photophysical properties of Er(III) complexes coordinated with platinum[5,10,15-triphenyl-20-(4-carboxyphenyl)-porphyrin] (PtP) and terpyridine (tpy) ligands in organic solution were investigated. The Er(III) complex emitted sensitized near-IR (NIR) luminescence when the PtP ligands were excited under deoxygenated conditions. The quantum yield (PhiLn) of the sensitized luminescence was 0.015%, as evaluated from luminescence lifetime. The photophysical studies and theoretical calculations suggest that the F?rster resonance mechanism is very suitable for the energy transfer from PtP to the Er(III) ion and occurred through the first triplet excited state of PtP. The 12.3% energy transfer from the triplet state to the 4F9/2 and 4I9/2 states of Er(III) occurred with a rate distribution of 3.36x10(5) and 6.67x10(4) s(-1), respectively. In addition, the observed triplet quantum yield of the PtP ligand in [Ln(PtP)3(tpy)] proved that the energy transfer from the singlet excited state of the PtP ligand to the Er(III) ion did not take place.  相似文献
