The pervaporation performance of mordenite membranes prepared by seeded hydrothermal synthesis was improved by a new post-synthetic treatment in which the membranes were hydrothermally treated at 180 °C under moderately alkaline conditions. The effect of the post-synthetic treatment was evidenced by pervaporation measurements, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and chemical analysis of the solution after treatment. The post-synthetic treatment was found to be highly effective to improve the performance of mordenite membranes in the pervaporation of water/ethanol mixtures. The dissolution of Si-rich amorphous and zeolitic materials, possibly combined with further crystallization processes during post-synthetic treatment are invoked to explain the results obtained.  相似文献

Polubarinova-Kochina's analytical differential equation methodis used to determine the pseudo-steady-state solution to problemsinvolving the freezing (solidification) of wedges of liquidwhich are initially at their fusion temperature. In particular,we consider four distinct problems for wedges which are: freezingwith the same constant boundary temperature, freezing with thesame constant boundary heat fluxes, freezing with distinct constantboundary temperatures and freezing with distinct constant fluxesat the boundaries. For the last two problems, a Heun's differentialequation with an unknown singularity is derived, which in bothcases admits a particularly elegant simple solution for thespecial case when the wedge angle is . Composites of polybenzimidazole (PBI) with proton-exchanged AMH-3 and swollen AMH-3 were prepared, characterized by electron microscopy and X-ray scattering and tested for hydrogen/carbon dioxide ideal selectivity. Proton-exchanged AMH-3 was prepared under mild conditions by the ion exchange of Sr and Na cations in the original AMH-3 using aqueous solution of dl-histidine. Swollen AMH-3 was prepared by sequential intercalation of dodecylamine following the ion exchange in the presence of dl-histidine. Both silicate materials were introduced into a continuous phase of PBI as a selective phase. Mixed matrix nanocomposite membranes, prepared under certain casting conditions, with only 3 wt% of swollen AMH-3 present substantial increase of hydrogen/carbon dioxide ideal selectivity at 35 °C, i.e., more than by a factor of 2 compared to pure PBI membranes (40 vs. 15). Similar ideal selectivity was observed using higher loadings (e.g., 14%) of proton-exchanged AMH-3 particles suggesting that transport of hydrogen is faster than carbon dioxide in AMH-3-derived silicates. However, the ideal selectivity of mixed matrix membranes approaches that of pure polymer as the operating temperature increases to 100 °C and 200 °C. The composite membranes with AMH-3-derived materials were compared with MCM-22/PBI membranes. Composite membranes incorporating MCM-22 plate-like crystals show no selectivity enhancements possibly due to the presence of larger pores in MCM-22.  相似文献

Dual-detector differential non-destructive Fourier transform detection in a quadrupole ion trap is shown to improve signal intensity and reduce noise compared with spectra recorded using a single detector. A larger area detector in each end-cap electrode is machined to fit its hyperbolic shape and so minimize field imperfections on the z-axis. Argon, acetophenone and bromobenzene spectra were recorded to allow a comparison between single- and dual-detector (differential) modes of detection and to demonstrate the improvement achieved with differential detection.
