Charge qubits and limitations of electrostatic quantum gates

We investigate quantum dot arrays and their application to quantum computation. The arrays analyzed contain a total of a few operating electrons with constant tunneling between the dots. We construct quantum two-level systems near the ground state with a large energy separation to the remainder of the states and with the electrostatic interaction modeled within the capacitance matrix formalism. A set of representative examples is investigated numerically.     

Iodination of anilines and phenols with 18-crown-6 supported ICl2-

A highly crystalline iodinating reagent, {[K·18-C-6]ICl(2)}(n), was synthesized in high yield (93%). The trihalide is supported by an 18-crown-6 macrocycle and forms a coordination polymer in the solid state. This reagent iodinates anilines and phenols efficiently under mild conditions. Controlled mono-iodination with anilines was easily achieved while poly-iodination was observed with phenols.     

Damping of coherent oscillations in a quantum dot photodiode

In this letter, we develop a model to describe the Rabi oscillations observed in a quantum-dot photodiode. Using a multi-level density matrix formulation, which includes multi-exciton and single particle states, we show that the damping observed in recent experiments is the result of a non-resonant excitation from or to the continuum of the wetting layer states.     

Magnetic susceptibility of a two-dimensional electron gas in the quantum strong magnetic field limit

It is shown that the peak values of the magnetic susceptibility of a two-dimensional electron gas in the quantum strong magnetic field limit are integral multiples of $\text{μ}{}^2{}_{\mathrm{B}}\text{2π}$.     

A simple method for extracting both active oily and water soluble extract (WSE) from Nigella sativa (L.) seeds using a single solvent system

The current study provides a way of extraction for both active NSO and WSE from Nigella sativa seeds using 98% methanol. About 1?kg of ground seeds was macerated by 1:2.5 w/v (g/mL) for 72?hours. After rotary evaporation and 7 days of continuous drying and chilling at 50 and 4?°C, NSO and WSE were obtained at the same instant. Solubility tests of 24 solvents and 11 thin layer chromatographic analyses while 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging assay of NSO (73.66) , WSE (33.32) and NSO?+?WSE (78.22) against ascorbic acid (IC50?=?4.28?mg/mL) was performed. WSE was found to be highly soluble in water and 5% NaOH exhibiting the same Rf value of 0.95 for EtOH:DMSO (9:1) against the honey. WSE has revealed more than twofold higher anti-oxidant activity than others. Formulation of WSE with Tualang honey may provide better targeted hydrophilic drug delivery systems.     

The triclinic polymorph of di­bromo[(–)‐sparteine‐κ2N,N′]­zinc(II)

The title compound, [ZnBr₂(C₁₅H₂₆N₂)], when synthesized starting from Zn⁰, is obtained in two polymorphic forms, one belonging to space group P2₁2₁2₁ and one to P1. The present contribution deals with the triclinic phase, which is isostructural with the orthorhombic form but presents a larger metal–metal intermolecular separation; the Zn⃛Zn distance is 7.4715 (6) Å for the triclinic polymorph as opposed to 6.534 Å for the orthorhombic polymorph.     

Helicoidal fields and spin polarized currents in carbon nanotube-DNA hybrids

We report on theoretical studies of electronic transport in the archetypical molecular hybrid formed by DNA wrapped around single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Using a Green's function formalism in a π-orbital tight-binding representation, we investigate the role that spin-orbit interactions play on the CNT in the case of the helicoidal electric field induced by the polar nature of the adsorbed DNA molecule. We find that spin polarization of the current can take place in the absence of magnetic fields, depending strongly on the direction of the wrapping and length of the helicoidal field. These findings open new routes for using CNTs in spintronic devices.     

高聚合度Ⅱ-型聚磷酸铵的合成

用聚合反应-热处理两段工艺合成了高聚合度的聚磷酸铵（APP）阻燃材料,其结构经XRD,粒度及平均聚合度表征。优化反应条件为：磷酸氢二铵1mol,n（磷酸氢二铵）：n（五氧化二磷）：n（脲）：1．0：1．0：0．3．干燥氨气氛下于290℃反应30min,再经250℃-280℃后处理100min-110min。APP的平均聚合度大于150,粒度小于50μm。
