A new tripodal ligand that features three selenium donors, namely the tris(2-seleno-1-mesitylimidazolyl)hydroborato ligand, [Tse(Mes)], has been constructed via the reaction of KBH(4) with 1-mesitylimidazole-2-selone; comparison of the IR spectroscopic data of [Tse(Mes)]Re(CO)(3) with those of a variety of related LRe(CO)(3) complexes demonstrates that the [Tse(Mes)] ligand is more strongly electron donating than Cp, Cp*, [Tp], [Tp(Me(2))] and [Tm(Mes)] ligands. 相似文献

In this communication, we provide theoretical evidence that the folded structure of a simple peptide, alanine zwitterionic octapeptide, or A8, unstable in solution, becomes stable in a reverse micelle (RM) of appropriate size. Our molecular dynamics simulations were carried out for realistic models of sodium 2-ethylhexylsulfosuccinate RM in isooctane, simulated for an extended period of time. For the RM of the smaller size, we find that a helical structure is stable for the whole length of the simulation. On the contrary, the peptide very quickly takes an extended structure in larger micelles. 相似文献

Hemophore HasA is a 19 kDa iron(III) hemoprotein that participates in the shuttling of heme to a specific membrane receptor. In HasA, heme iron has an original coordination environment with a His/Tyr pair as axial ligands. Recently developed two-dimensional protonless (13)C-detected experiments provide the sequence-specific assignment of all but three protein residues in the close proximity of the paramagnetic center, thus overcoming limitations due to the short relaxation times induced by the presence of the iron(III) center. Mono-dimensional (13)C and (15)N experiments tailored for the detection of paramagnetic signals allow the identification of resonances of the axial ligands. These experiments are used to characterize the conformational features and the electronic structure of the heme iron(III) environment. The good complementarity among (1)H-, (13)C-, and (15)N-detected experiments is highlighted. A thermal high-spin/low-spin equilibrium is observed and is related to a modulation of the strength of the coordination bond between the iron and the Tyr74 axial ligand. The key role of a neighboring residue, His82, for the stability of the axial coordination and its involvement in the heme delivery to the receptor is discussed. 相似文献

To better understand the complex photophysics of the amino acid tryptophan, which is widely used as a probe of protein structure and dynamics, we have measured electronic spectra of protonated, gas-phase tryptophan solvated with a controlled number of water molecules and cooled to approximately 10 K. We observe that, even at this temperature, the bare molecule exhibits a broad electronic spectrum, implying ultrafast, nonradiative decay of the excited state. Surprisingly, the addition of two water molecules sufficiently lengthens the excited-state lifetime that we obtain a fully vibrationally resolved electronic spectrum. Quantum chemical calculations at the RI-CC2/aug-cc-pVDZ level, together with TDDFT/pw based first-principles MD simulations of the excited-state dynamics, clearly demonstrate how interactions with water destabilize the photodissociative states and increase the excited-state lifetime. 相似文献

Recently, we have proposed a scheme for the calculation of nonadiabatic couplings and nonadiabatic coupling vectors within linear response time-dependent density functional theory using a set of auxiliary many-electron wavefunctions [I. Tavernelli, E. Tapavicza, and U. Rothlisberger, J. Chem. Phys. 130, 124107 (2009)]. As demonstrated in a later work [I. Tavernelli, B. F. E. Curchod, and U. Rothlisberger, J. Chem. Phys. 131, 196101 (2009)], this approach is rigorous in the case of the calculation of nonadiabatic couplings between the ground state and any excited state. In this work, we extend this formalism to the case of coupling between pairs of singly excited states with the same spin multiplicity. After proving the correctness of our formalism using the electronic oscillator approach by Mukamel and co-workers [S. Tretiak and S. Mukamel, Chem. Rev. (Washington, D.C.) 102, 3171 (2002)], we tested the method on a model system, namely, protonated formaldimine, for which we computed S(1)/S(2) nonadiabatic coupling vectors and compared them with results from high level (MR-CISD) electronic structure calculations. 相似文献

The analytical determination of atmospheric pollutants still presents challenges due to the low-level concentrations (frequently in the μg m−3 range) and their variations with sampling site and time. In this work, a capillary membrane diffusion scrubber (CMDS) was scaled down to match with capillary electrophoresis (CE), a quick separation technique that requires nothing more than some nanoliters of sample and, when combined with capacitively coupled contactless conductometric detection (C4D), is particularly favorable for ionic species that do not absorb in the UV-vis region, like the target analytes formaldehyde, formic acid, acetic acid and ammonium. The CMDS was coaxially assembled inside a PTFE tube and fed with acceptor phase (deionized water for species with a high Henry's constant such as formaldehyde and carboxylic acids, or acidic solution for ammonia sampling with equilibrium displacement to the non-volatile ammonium ion) at a low flow rate (8.3 nL s−1), while the sample was aspirated through the annular gap of the concentric tubes at 2.5 mL s−1. A second unit, in all similar to the CMDS, was operated as a capillary membrane diffusion emitter (CMDE), generating a gas flow with know concentrations of ammonia for the evaluation of the CMDS. The fluids of the system were driven with inexpensive aquarium air pumps, and the collected samples were stored in vials cooled by a Peltier element. Complete protocols were developed for the analysis, in air, of NH3, CH3COOH, HCOOH and, with a derivatization setup, CH2O, by associating the CMDS collection with the determination by CE-C4D. The ammonia concentrations obtained by electrophoresis were checked against the reference spectrophotometric method based on Berthelot's reaction. Sensitivity enhancements of this reference method were achieved by using a modified Berthelot reaction, solenoid micro-pumps for liquid propulsion and a long optical path cell based on a liquid core waveguide (LCW). A simple, robust and fast-responding flow adaptor for mercury drop electrodes (MDEs) is described. An L-shaped PTFE tube with an internal diameter of 0.5 mm is fixed with a silicone ring on the glass capillary of a MDE, in such a way as to direct the outcoming flow onto the mercury drop, from a distance of about 0.5 mm. Any commercial or laboratory-made batch cell, provided with an MDE, serves for the purpose. The level of supporting electrolyte in the cell is maintained constant through a siphon or a lateral draining orifice. The adaptor is compatible with all the different brands and operating modes of the MDEs (free dropping, controlled drop time, renewable static drop, hanging drop or sessile drop). Flow injection experiments were conducted with the following amperometric detection modes: sampled-DC, reverse pulse amperometry (RPA), and anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The FIA-RPA peaks presented a R.S.D.<0.8% for 1.0×10−5 mol l−1 lead(II) (N=30, Vsample=100 μl). The response time (0-63% of the signal maximum) to a concentration step is 1.2 s for 500 μl injections of 0.1 mmol l−1 ascorbic acid in acetate buffer at a flow rate of 1 ml min−1, which corresponds to a response volume of 20 μl. As an example of practical application, copper(II) was determined in fertilizers by RPA using the standard addition method, at an analytical frequency of 90 injections per h. 相似文献
