Measurement of the cross sections for reaction π−p → Xo n in the momentum range up to 50 GeVc

The cross sections for the reaction π^?p → X^on, X^o → 2_λ are measured at 32.5 and $\text{48}\text{GeV}\text{c}$ momenta. The cross spectrometer of γ-quanta is used to select events of reaction, whose cross section is only about 0.05 μbarn. The cross section energy dependence has the power form ($\text{≈ p}{}^{\mathrm{?1.11\pm 0.12}}$. conclusion on U(6) symmetry of quark model is made when comparing the differential cross sections at zero angle for the reactions π^?p → X^o and π^?p → η^o. The angle of octet-singlet mixing for pseudo-scalar mesons β = ?(20.6 ± 2.2)° is defined.     

Isomeric and two-quasiparticle states in the neutron-excess odd-odd nucleus <Superscript>134</Superscript>Sb

Detailed theoretical calculations of the properties of the neutron-excess odd-odd nucleus ¹³⁴Sb are performed by using different theoretical approaches. A comprehensive comparison with the recent experimental data is performed; this comparison suggests the presence of isomeric states among the low-lying levels of this nucleus. These states are the twins of the corresponding levels of the odd-odd nucleus ²¹⁰Bi that is situated near the stability line. The obtained results manifest the similarity of nuclear structure in the region of the “remote” doubly magic nucleus ¹³²Sn and in the region of the classical stable doubly magic nucleus ²⁰⁸Pb. Search for superheavy hydrogen isotopes <Superscript>6</Superscript>H and <Superscript>7</Superscript>H in stopped π-absorption reactions

Experimental search for superheavy hydrogen isotopes ⁶H and ⁷H was performed in the stopped pion absorption on ⁹Be and ¹¹B nuclei. The structures in the missing-mass spectra were observed in the reaction channels ⁹Be(π^-, pd )X and ¹¹B(π^-, p⁴He)X . Four states of ⁶H were proposed. Evidences for ⁷H formation were obtained in the reaction channels ⁹Be(π^-, pp)X and ¹¹B(π^-, p³He)X .     

Uniqueness and Stability of Determining the Residual Stress by One Measurement

In this paper we prove a Hölder and Lipschitz stability estimates of determining the residual stress by a single pair of observations from a part of the lateral boundary or from the whole boundary. These estimates imply first uniqueness results for determination of residual stress from few boundary measurements.
