Polyphenols and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids from fish oils, i.e., eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids, are well-recognized nutraceuticals, and their single antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have been demonstrated in several studies found in the literature. It has been reported that the combination of these nutraceuticals can lead to three-fold increases in glutathione peroxidase activity, two-fold increases in plasma antioxidant capacity, decreases of 50–100% in lipid peroxidation, protein carbonylation, and urinary 8-isoprotanes, as well as 50–200% attenuation of common inflammation biomarkers, among other effects, as compared to their individual capacities. Therefore, the adequate combination of those bioactive food compounds and their single properties should offer a powerful tool for the design of successfully nutritional interventions for the prevention and palliation of a plethora of human metabolic diseases, frequently diet-induced, whose etiology and progression are characterized by redox homeostasis disturbances and a low-grade of chronic inflammation. However, the certain mechanisms behind their biological activities, in vivo interaction (both between them and other food compounds), and their optimal doses and consumption are not well-known yet. Therefore, we review here the recent evidence accumulated during the last decade about the cooperative action between polyphenols and fish oils against diet-related metabolic alterations, focusing on the mechanisms and pathways described and the effects reported. The final objective is to provide useful information for strategies for personalized nutrition based on these nutraceuticals.  相似文献

The technique of bead injection has been adapted for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) to substantially improve precision, long term stability and sensitivity of SERS detection in analytical chemistry. For this purpose a fully automated flow system comprising a dedicated flow-cell has been developed and tested. With the developed flow-cell, which contains two inlet and two outlet channels, it is possible to retain, perfuse and discharge minute amounts of polymer beads while monitoring all steps by Raman spectroscopy. First, beads carrying cation exchanger moieties were retained in the flow-cell and subsequently perfused with a silver nitrate and a hydroxylamine solution using one inlet of the flow cell. By this sequence homogeneous SERS active silver layers were formed on the beads. The uniformity of the achieved silver layer was studied by secondary electron microscopy. For measurement, the analyte was then introduced from the second inlet channel such that the interaction between the activated SERS beads and analyte occurred in close proximity and within the focus of the laser excitation beam. Due to the complete computer control of all experimental steps, including bead entrapment, SERS layer generation, sample introduction and final bead removal, highly reproducible conditions for SERS were achieved. The method was developed using 9-aminoacridine as a test molecule. Quantitative studies were carried out for 9-aminoacridine and acridine showing linear calibrations from 1-100 nmol l(-1) and 50-1,000 nmol l(-1), respectively, using a sample volume of 200 microl each. Typical relative standard deviations were 4.7% for 9-aminoacrine and 5.8% for acridine.  相似文献

As depicted in the scheme, the alkylidenamido complex 1, a N-rhenaimine, reacts with ketenes to afford the beta-lactams 2-4, which possess a {Re(CO)3(bpy)} fragment as substituent at nitrogen. Clean demetalations using HOTf or MeOTf yield the free beta-lactams or N-methyl-beta-lactams along with [Re(OTf)(CO)3(bpy)]. DFT calculations help to rationalize why the reaction is faster than those of non transition metal N-substituted imines.  相似文献

A comparison of the performance of the methodologies used in two distinct laboratories (Lab A and Lab B) for multi-element analysis in different wines was carried out. ICP-MS apparatus (quadrupole mass analyzers) of different brands as well as different wine pre-treatments were used. At Lab A, a pre-treatment by UV-irradiation was performed. At Lab B, a micro-concentric nebulizer was used for direct analysis of the wine. Twenty-six elements (Li, V, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Rb, Sr, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, and Pb) were measured in common at the two labs in three different wine samples (red and white Bordeaux table wines and Port wine) and the results were compared. The two methodologies provided similar LODs and similar precisions, with RSDs of 0.5-5%, for most of the elements. The recovery percentages were 85-120% at Lab A for the three wines, and 78-119% at Lab B for the Bordeaux wines, validating the accuracy of the methods used. Comparable results were obtained at both labs for ten elements (Li, V, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Ba, and Pb) in the three selected wines; the differences were lower than 10% in most cases. For REEs, the differences observed were slightly higher, but still in the acceptable range due to the sub-ppb levels involved. The results obtained for As and Ga were not comparable, due to methodological influence. A comparison through linear least-squares adjustment indicated that the results obtained by the two labs were linearly correlated (correlation coefficient =0.997) but statistically different as the slope was slightly, but significantly different from one, for a confidence level of 95% (the intercept was statistically identical to zero in any case). In the future, strictly more identical results can be achieved by using a reference wine sample.  相似文献

A selective method based on high performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection (HPLC-ECD) was developed to enable simultaneous detection of 8-oxo-7,8-dihydroguanine (8-oxoGua) and 8-oxo-7,8-dihydro-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-oxodGuo), products of DNA oxidative damage, in the presence of uric acid (UA), a strong interferent in their electrochemical detection. The method developed consists of HPLC isocratic elution with amperometric detection on a glassy carbon electrode, enabling a detection limit for 8-oxoGua and 8-oxodGuo lower than 1 nM in standard mixtures. Detection of low concentrations up to 25 nM of 8-oxoGua and 8-oxodGuo in the presence of UA in a 104-fold higher concentration was achieved after one-step solid phase extraction (SPE). The method was tested with urine samples and it was possible to detect and quantify the presence of 8-oxoGua, and to confirm that UA was eliminated after uricase degradation and SPE. The LOD found in urine samples was about 80 nM, a value higher than in standard mixtures, due to the increase of background current in the urine matrix. The results presented here contribute to the development of a methodological approach to simultaneous determination of 8-oxoGua and 8-oxodGuo in urine samples.  相似文献

A Zn,Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) with Zn/Al = 1.45 and containing nitrate anions was prepared by coprecipitation and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Zn K-edge extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS), thermogravimetric analysis, FTIR and FT Raman spectroscopy, and (27)Al MAS NMR spectroscopy. Three Zn...O and four Zn...M (M = Zn, Al) shells could be fitted to the low-temperature (40 K) EXAFS spectrum, in accordance with a model for an ordered cationic sheet. The nitrate anions were easily exchanged by 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylate anions, resulting in an increase in the basal spacing from 9 to 18 A. The basal spacing of the pillared derivative indicates that the anions are arranged with their longest dimension nearly perpendicular to the host layers. This material exhibits a high encapsulating ability, as evidenced by its interaction with a dichloromethane solution of the dioxomolybdenum(VI) complex MoO(2)Cl(2)(THF)(2). A material with a metal loading of 11.2 wt % was obtained. Molybdenum K-edge EXAFS analysis could not substantiate the formation of a supported complex of the type MoO(2)Cl(2)(N-N) but instead indicated the formation of unidentate-bridged entities of the type [O(2)Mo-O-MoO(2)] with a metal-metal separation of 3.29 A. The molybdenum-containing LDH was active as a catalyst for the liquid-phase epoxidation of cis-cyclooctene, 1-octene, and trans-2-octene using tert-butyl hydroperoxide as the oxygen source, yielding the corresponding epoxides as the only products. For reactions carried out with no additional solvent (other than n-decane) or in the presence of 1,2-dichloroethane, the solid catalyst could be recycled with no major loss of activity. Other tests confirmed that the systems functioned as true heterogeneous catalysts.  相似文献

Hybrid organic-inorganic nanocomposites containing uniform distributions of metal nanoparticles have been prepared by mixing a preformed nanoparticle colloid with the precursors of a ureasil, prior to the sol-gel transition. These nanocomposites possess not only high optical quality and optical features dictated by the size and shape of the nanoparticle dopants but also a high degree of flexibility, which can largely enhance the range of applications in practical devices. The deposition of a uniform silica shell on the nanoparticle surface prior to the sol-gel transition was found to be required to maintain the colloidal stability during the process and, thus, to retain the optical properties in the final nanocomposite material. This method can be readily extended to other materials, such as semiconductor and magnetic nanoparticles.  相似文献

Described are the syntheses of 15 macrocyclic peptides designed to trap Holliday junctions (HJs) in bacteria during site-specific and homologous recombination. This leads to inhibiting bacterial growth. These second generation macrocycles were based on the C-2 symmetrical HJ. They were synthesized using a strategy that permits elucidation of the amino acid role in binding HJs. The syntheses of these macrocycles are an important step in the development of a new class of antibiotics.  相似文献
