The purpose of this paper is to use semiclassical analysis to unify and generalize L p estimates on high energy eigenfunctions and spectral clusters. In our approach these estimates do not depend on ellipticity and order, and apply to operators which are selfadjoint only at the principal level. Studies on the mode of action of two boroncontaining anti-neoplastic agents, ethylamine-carboxyborane and triphenylphosphine-carboxyborane, are reported. The major site of inhibition was in the pyrimidine de nove synthetic pathway at orotidine monophosphate decarboxylase activity. Additional sites which may facilitate the inhibition of cell growth were IMP dehydrogenase, thymidine kinase, TMP kinase and TDP kinase, m-RNA, r-RNA and t-RNA polymerase activities as well as topoisomerase II activity. The reduction in enzyme activities led to sufficient reduction of d(NTP) levels to suppress DNA synthesis and cell growth. DNA strand scission was evident in the presence of drug. Multiple modes of action are common with amine-carboxyboranes. Acute toxicity studies in mice showed that both agents were safe in their therapeutic range based on organ weights, histological tissue sections, clinical chemistry values and hematopoietic parameters.  相似文献

A Mössbauer spectrometer is included in the preliminary payload of a rover to be placed on the surface of Mars in the Soviet mission to the planct in 1996/1,2/. In counection with the American planctary program it has also been suggested to construct a Mössbauer spectrometer to be landed on Mars /3, 4/. The objective is to study the iron compounds of the Martian soil and rocks by backscattering Mössbauer spectroscopy. The paper describes the significance of the element iron in the study of the evolution of the planetary system and what we might expect to learn from Mössbauer spectroscopy of the surface materials of Mars. The study of Mars is expected to expand substantially in the coming decades, probably culminating with a manned flight to the planet. The international Mössbauer community may contribute significantly to the preparation of these events.  相似文献

A systematic investigation of the hyperpolarisabilities of substituted p‐poly‐phenylenes is presented using different quantum mechanical approaches, including density functional theory and Møller–Plesset (MP2) methods. A medium‐sized basis set Hartree–Fock (HF) hyperpolarisability calculation based on either a density functional theory (DFT) or MP2 geometry gives reliable results at moderate computational costs when comparing with experimental data. A longer phenylene chain leads to a maximum in the per‐unit increase of the investigated property between 3 and 4 repeat units. Changing the underlying geometry from the minimum helix to a planar orientation leads to a significant increase in β, again dependent on the chain length. Terminal para‐substituents and their influence are studied and categorised. For push–pull groups, the substituent effects are mainly additive, allowing the design of functionalised phenylenes as molecular building blocks for nanofibres with tailored nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. The single-pion production reactions ppdπ+, ppnpπ+ and ppppπ0 were measured at a beam momentum of 0.95GeV/c ( T p ≈ 400MeV) using the short version of the COSY-TOF spectrometer. The implementation of a central calorimeter provided particle identification, energy determination and neutron detection in addition to time-of-flight and angle measurements. Thus, all pion production channels were recorded with 1-4 overconstraints. The total and differential cross-sections obtained are compared to previous data and theoretical calculations. Main emphasis is put on the discussion of the ppπ0 channel, where we obtain angular distributions different from previous experimental results, however, partly in good agreement with recent phenomenological and theoretical predictions. In particular, we observe very large anisotropies for the π0 angular distributions in the kinematical region of small relative proton momenta revealing there a dominance of proton spinflip transitions associated with π0 s and d partial waves and emphasizing the important role of π0 d-waves.  相似文献

Al/Au multilayers (average composition Al2Au, individual layer thicknesses 1 nm Al and 0.71 nm Au) are prepared at 90 K by ion beam sputtering. The electrical resistance of the growing films is monitored in situ. From the results obtained in this way it can be concluded that interface reactions occur transforming the ultrathin layers into an amorphous phase, which is stable up to 255 K.For larger individual layer thicknesses (2.1 nm Au and 3 nm Al), the interface reaction into the amorphous state is incomplete. Based on a simple parallel-resistor model, one finds that the interface reaction into the amorphous phase is restricted to a thickness of less than 3.5 nm. The temperature dependence of the resistance of such thicker multilayers indicates the onset of interdiffusion of the yet unreacted material at T=200 K resulting in the crystalline Al2Au-phase.  相似文献
