A stable enol in small ring systems: clear differentiation between penta- and tri-valency of phosphorus atoms

The first stable enols in 1,2-dihydrophosphetes and were synthesized and structurally characterized with intermolecular hydrogen bonds to phosphoryl groups in 10-membered dimeric structures; in contrast, trivalent analogue exists in keto-form, where such stabilization by hydrogen bonds is not feasible.     

THE HYDROBORATION OF P-PHENYL-CTERT-BUTYL-C-TRIMETHY LSILOXYMETHYLENE PHOSPHINE

Abstract

P-Phenyl-C-tert.-butyl-C-trimethylsiloxymethylene phosphine (1) has been shown to add catecholboran C₆,H₄,O₂,BH or dicyclohexylboran (C₆,H₁₁)₂BH to give 1:1-adducts with P—B bond which undergo spontaneous β-elimination of trimethylsiloxycatecholboran (4) or trimethylsiloxydicyclohexylboran (8) respectively. The mechanism of reactions is discussed.     

Stability of Nonlocal Finite-Difference Problems

The article presents a brief review of the stability theory of finite-difference schemes for time-dependent problems of mathematical physics in which the spatial differential operator is constrained by boundary conditions joined on different pieces of the boundary. It is shown for the particular case of the heat-conduction equation that nonlocal boundary conditions may generate both simple finite-difference operators and finite-difference operators with an incomplete eigenfunction system. [1+2] Addition of disulfides to phosphaalkenes

We are the first to report the [1+2] addition of disulfides to phosphaalkenes in the case of C-(N,N-dimethylaminomethylene)-P-phenylphosphine (I) and dimethyl disulfide (II). On the beam propagation through active media

An analytical iterative procedure has been established to determine the amplitude of a laser beam propagating through an active medium. The treatment is valid for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening, and for arbitrary inhomogeneities of the parameters characterizing the active medium, namely, the refractive index, the small-signal gain and the saturation intensity. After a supplementary approximation, a thin-sheet gain approach is derived from the first iteration. The formalism enables us to provide analytical criteria for evaluating both the accuracy of each iteration and the propagation distances for which the thin-sheet solution can be used. This revised version was published online in November 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Synthesis of S-catecholboryl (N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)-phenyldithiophosphinate

New thermally stable cationic eta3-allyl(1,4-diphospha-(1,3)-butadiene)nickel complexes for ethylene polymerization

Nickel ethylene polymerization catalysts 1a,b bearing a P,P-ligand with two sp2-hybridized phosphorus atoms have been synthesized; their structure and polymerization studies have been reported for the first time.
