In this paper, we present computational results for the (1S,3R,4R)-3-(pyrrolidinyl)-methyl-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane mediated rearrangement of cyclohexene oxide. The results nicely explain the differences in enantioselectivities between catalytic and stoichiometric mode between different ligands, and provides a rational for the identification of non-stereospecific background reactions as the major cause of decreased enantioselectivity in catalytic reactions for sterically hindered diamines.  相似文献

This paper reviews the progress made by the European food and drink industry (CIAA) on acrylamide with regard to analytical methods, mechanisms of formation, and mitigation research in the major food categories. It is an update on the first CIAA review paper, "A Review of Acrylamide: An Industry Perspective on Research, Analysis, Formation and Control." Initial difficulties with the establishment of reliable analytical methods, in most cases, have now been overcome, but challenges remain in terms of the need to develop simple and rapid test methods and certified reference materials. Many trials have been conducted under laboratory and experimental conditions in a variety of foods, and a number of possible measures have been identified to relatively lower the amounts of acrylamide in food. Promising applications were studied in reconstituted potato models by addition of amino acids or use of asparaginase. In bakery wares, predictive models have been established to determine the role of ammonium carbonate and invert sugar in acrylamide formation. Studies in several commercial foods showed that acrylamide is not stable over time in roasted and ground coffee. Some progress in relatively lowering acrylamide in certain food categories has been achieved, but at this stage can only be considered marginal. Any options that are chosen to reduce acrylamide in commercial products must be technologically feasible and must not adversely affect the quality and safety of the final product.  相似文献

The stability of a common interface used in organic photovoltaic cells, between the transparent electrode of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and a buffer layer of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is strongly influenced by the presence of humidity during processing, leading to significant migration of indium and tin species into the PEDOT:PSS layer. The interface was studied using neutral impact collision ion scattering spectroscopy (NICISS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), to determine migration of indium and tin into the polymer layer. It was found that the migration starts almost instantly after spin coating of the aqueous PEDOT:PSS solution and it reaches a saturation level within twenty four hours. The indium and tin were found always uniformly distributed over the sampling depth of almost one-third of the thickness of the PEDOT:PSS layer. Exposure to humidity following annealing resulted in the highest concentration (1.8 × 10(-3) mol cm(-3)) of indium or tin species, corresponding to about one indium or tin moiety per 4.7 monomer units in the PEDOT:PSS. The maximum bulk concentration of indium is about two orders of magnitude higher after exposure to humid conditions compared to vacuum dried conditions. XPS measurements confirm the presence of both indium and tin in the PEDOT:PSS and the formation of salts with the metal ions as cations.  相似文献

Culturing stem cells as free-floating aggregates in suspension facilitates large-scale production of cells in closed systems, for clinical use. To comply with GMP standards, the use of substances such as proteolytic enzymes should be avoided. Instead of enzymatic dissociation, the growing cell aggregates may be mechanically cut at passage, but available methods are not compatible with large-scale cell production and hence translation into the clinic becomes a severe bottle-neck. We have developed the Biogrid device, which consists of an array of micrometerscale knife edges, micro-fabricated in silicon, and a manifold in which the microgrid is placed across the central fluid channel. By connecting one side of the Biogrid to a syringe or a pump and the other side to the cell culture, the culture medium with suspended cell aggregates can be aspirated, forcing the aggregates through the microgrid, and ejected back to the cell culture container. Large aggregates are thereby dissociated into smaller fragments while small aggregates pass through the microgrid unaffected. As proof-of-concept, we demonstrate that the Biogrid device can be successfully used for repeated passage of human neural stem/progenitor cells cultured as so-called neurospheres, as well as for passage of suspension cultures of human embryonic stem cells. We also show that human neural stem/progenitor cells tolerate transient pressure changes far exceeding those that will occur in a fluidic system incorporating the Biogrid microgrids. Thus, by using the Biogrid device it is possible to mechanically passage large quantities of cells in suspension cultures in closed fluidic systems, without the use of proteolytic enzymes.  相似文献

Amines are widely used and originate from both anthropogenic and natural sources. Recently, there is, in addition, a raised concern about emissions of small amines formed as degradation products of the more complex amines used in CO(2) capture and storage systems. Amines are bases and can readily contribute to aerosol mass and number concentration via acid-base reactions but are also subject to gas phase oxidation forming secondary organic aerosols. To provide more insight into the atmospheric fate of the amines, this paper addresses the volatility properties of aminium nitrates suggested to be produced in the atmosphere from acid-base reactions of amines with nitric acid. The enthalpy of vaporization has been determined for the aminium nitrates of mono-, di-, trimethylamine, ethylamine, and monoethanolamine. The enthalpy of vaporization was determined from volatility measurements of laboratory generated aerosol nanoparticles using a volatility tandem differential mobility analyzer set up. The determined enthalpy of vaporization for aminium nitrates range from 54 up to 74 kJ mol(-1), and the calculated vapor pressures at 298 K are around 10(-4) Pa. These values indicate that aminium nitrates can take part in gas-to-particle partitioning at ambient conditions and have the potential to nucleate under high NO(x) conditions, e.g., in combustion plumes.  相似文献

We report on experiments probing the reactivity of neutral Au(n) clusters, n = 9-68, with carbon monoxide. The gold clusters are produced in a pulsed laser vaporization cluster source, operated at room temperature (RT) or at liquid-nitrogen temperature (LNT), pass through a low-pressure reaction cell containing CO gas, and are subsequently laser ionized. The reaction probabilities are determined by recording mass abundance spectra with time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The main observations are a strong temperature dependence and a remarkable size dependence. Upon cooling of the cluster source to LNT, the reactivity increases substantially. At LNT, the reaction probabilities for Au(n) with the first CO molecule are about a factor 10 higher than at RT. Moreover, adsorption of two, three, and even four CO molecules is observed, in contrast to RT clusters which at most adsorb one CO molecule. This temperature dependence is related to the lifetime of the cluster-molecule complexes, being much longer for cold clusters. The observed striking size dependence is similar at both temperatures and is discussed in terms of the electronic structure effects.  相似文献

A collection of chiral quinuclidine ligands, derived from the Cinchona alkaloids quinine and quinidine, has been evaluated in the catalytic asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones. It was fond that [IrCl(COD)]2 complexes of the diamines QCI-Amine and QCD-Amine gave the most active catalysts, capable of reducing a range of aromatic ketones with excellent conversions and good enantioselectivities (up to 95% ee). These are the best selectivities reported for ligands based on the quinuclidine core in an asymmetric transformation, and advocate that these ligands, commercially available in both pseudo-enantiomeric forms, will find practical use in this and other catalytic processes.  相似文献

The new poly-imidazole N(8) ligand (S)-2-piperazinemethanamine-1,4-bis[2-((N-(1-acetoxy-3-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl))-2-(S)-propyl)-(N-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl)))ethyl]-N-(phenylmethyl)-N-(acetoxy), also named (S)-Pz-(C2-(HisIm))(2) (L), containing three chiral (S) centers, was obtained by a multi-step synthesis and used to prepare dinuclear [Cu(2)(L)](4+) and trinuclear [Cu(3)(L)](6+) copper(II) complexes. Low-temperature EPR experiments performed on [Cu(2)(L)](4+) demonstrated that the two S = ? centers behaved as independent paramagnetic units, while the EPR spectra used to study the trinuclear copper complex, [Cu(3)(L)](6+), were consistent with a weakly coupled three-spin ? system. Theoretical models for the two complexes were obtained by DFT/RI-BP86/TZVP geometry optimization, where the structural and electronic characteristics nicely supported the EPR experimental findings. In addition, the theoretical analysis unveiled that the conformational flexibility encoded in both [Cu(2)(L)](4+) and [Cu(3)(L)](6+) arises not only from the presence of several σ-bonds and the bulky residues attached to the (S)-Pz-(C2-(HisIm))(2) ligand scaffold, but also from the poor coordination ability of the tertiary amino groups located in the ligand side-chains containing the imidazole units towards the copper(II) ions. Both the dinuclear and trinuclear complexes are efficient catalysts in the stereoselective oxidation of several catechols and flavonoid compounds, yielding the corresponding quinones. The structural features of the substrate-catalyst adduct intermediates were assessed by searching the conformational space of the molecule through MMFF94/Monte Carlo (MMFF94/MC) methods. The conformational flexibility of the bound ligand in the complexes proves to be beneficial for substrate binding and recognition. For the dinuclear complex, chiral recognition of the optically active substrates derives from weak electrostatic interactions between bound substrates and folded regions of the ligand scaffold. For the trinuclear complex, in the case of L/D-Dopa, the chiral recognition has a remarkable stereoselectivity index of 75%, the highest so far reported for this type of reaction. Here the dominant contribution to stereoselectivity arises from the direct interaction between a donor group (the Dopa carboxylate) far from the substrate reaction site (the catechol ring) with the additional (third) copper center not involved in the oxidative catalysis. On the other hand, in the case of bulky substrates, such as L/D-catechin, the observed poor substrate recognition is associated with much weaker interactions between the chiral regions of the complex and the chiral part of the substrate.  相似文献

An approach to thyroid hormone analogues was proposed involving sequential substitution of cationic cyclopentadienyl(1,4-dichlorobenzene)iron(II) complexes with phenoxide/thiophenoxide and hydroxide/amine, followed by decomplexation. Although the selectivity for monosubstitution with phenolates and thiophenolates was poorer than previously observed, it was often possible to control the reaction with sterically less demanding phenolates of intermediate nucleophilicity. The subsequent introduction of a polar substituent into the monosubstituted product was successful with amine nucleophiles. A modified approach, based on the reverse order of substitution was also attempted. Whereas clean monosubstitution with hydroxide/hydroxide equivalents was unsuccessful, cyclopentadienyl(N-alkyl-1-chloro-4-aminobenzene)iron(II) complexes could be prepared in fair yields and further substituted with nucleophiles such as thiophenolates.  相似文献
