We report an electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study at 33.9 GHz and room temperature of oriented single crystal samples of bis(l-asparaginato)Zn(II) doped with Cu(II). The variation of the spectra with magnetic field orientation was measured in three crystal planes (a*b, bc and a*c, with a*=b×c). These spectra display two groups of four peaks arising from the hyperfine interaction with the ICu=3/2 nuclear spins of copper. They were assigned to Cu(II) ions in two lattice sites related by a 180° rotation around the b-crystal axis. The g and hyperfine coupling (A) tensors of the Cu(II) ions were evaluated from the single crystal data. Some indeterminacy in the assignment of the signals was avoided measuring the EPR spectrum of a powder sample. Their principal values are g1=2.060(1), g2=2.068(2), g3=2.283(2), and A1≈0.1×10−4, A2=13×10−4 and A3=165×10−4 cm−1. The eigenvectors corresponding to g3 and A3 are coincident within the experimental error; the other eigenvectors are rotated 5.6° in the perpendicular plane. Considering the crystal structure of bis(l-asparaginato)Zn(II), our EPR results indicate that the Cu(II) impurities replace Zn(II) ions in the host crystal. We propose a molecular model based on the EPR data and the structural information, and analyse the results comparing the measured values with those obtained in similar systems.  相似文献

We describe an optical bench in which we lock the relative frequencies or phases of a set of three lasers in order to use them in a cold atom interferometry experiment. As a new feature, the same two lasers serve alternately to cool atoms and to realize the atomic interferometer. This requires a fast change of the optical frequencies over a few GHz. The number of required independent laser sources is then only three, which enables the construction of the whole laser system on a single transportable optical bench. The reduced transition probabilities B(E2;0(+) --> 2(+)(1)) of the neutron-rich (74)Zn and (70)Ni nuclei have been measured by Coulomb excitation in a (208)Pb target at intermediate energy. These nuclei have been produced at Grand Accélérateur National d'Ions Lourds via interactions of a 60A MeV (76)Ge beam with a Be target. The B(E2) value for (70)Ni(42) is unexpectedly large, which indicates that neutrons added above N=40 strongly polarize the Z=28 proton core. In the Zn isotopic chain, the steep rise of B(E2) values beyond N=40 continues up to (74)Zn(44). The enhanced proton core polarization in (70)Ni is attributed to the monopole interaction between the neutron in the g(9/2) and protons in the f(7/2) and f(5/2) spin-orbit partner orbitals. This interaction could result in a weakening of magicity in (78)Ni(50).  相似文献

The elaboration of LaZr2Cr4Ni5-based intermetallic compound was performed by mechanical alloying from LaNi5 and ZrCr2 precursors and characterized as active materials of negative electrodes in nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. The effect of the milling duration on the phase composition was investigated. The structural properties of the formed phases were determined by X-ray diffraction and quantified from the Rietveld refinement data. The increase of the milling time up to 40 h leads to the highest abundance of the LaZr2Cr4Ni5 phase, estimated at a weight content of 60.6 %, and a complete elimination of the LaNi5 intermetallic precursor. The chronopotentiometry, cyclic voltammetry, and chronoamperometry techniques were applied to characterize the electrochemical behavior of prepared LaZr2Cr4Ni5-based compounds. The maximum discharge capacity was 152 mAh g−1, and a high electrochemical stability was obtained in the alkaline solution. The value of the hydrogen diffusion coefficient is equal to 2.1 × 10−8 cm2 s−1, reflecting an appropriate electrochemical hydrogenation kinetic in the LaZr2Cr4Ni5-based compounds.

The electrochemical conversion of CO2 into value‐added products using room temperature ionic liquids as solvent/electrolyte has been proposed as an alternative to minimize the environmental effects of CO2 emissions. A key issue in the design of electrochemical systems for the reduction of CO2 is the in situ identification of intermediate surface species as well as reaction products. Copper electrodes, besides being used as cathodes in the electrochemical reduction of CO2, present surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) when properly activated. In this sense, the electrochemical reduction of CO2 over a copper electrode in the room temperature ionic liquids 1‐n‐butyl‐3‐methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BMI.BF4) was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and by in situ SERS. The cyclic voltammetries have shown that the presence of CO2 on the BMI.BF4 anticipates the reduction of BMI+ to the corresponding carbene. Fourier‐transform‐SERS spectra excited at 1064 nm and SERS spectra excited at 632.8 nm have shown vibrational signals from adsorbed CO. These SERS results indicated that CO adsorbs on the copper surface at two different surface sites. The observation of a 2275 cm−1 vibration in the SERS spectra also confirmed the presence of chemically adsorbed CO2. Other products of CO2 reduction in BMI.BF4, besides CO, were identified, including BMI carbene and the BMI‐CO2 adduct. The SERS results also suggest that the presence of a thin film of Cu2O on the copper surface anticipates the reduction of CO2 to CO, an important component of syngas. We study the statistical properties of hourly wind speed time series detected at four weather stations in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, in the period 2008-2009. We find that the average and maximum hourly wind speeds deviate from a mutual linear relationship, and that they may be well explained individually by a Weibull distribution, however, with different shape parameter values. On the other hand, the long-term correlations of both of these observables obey the same power-law behavior, with two distinct scaling regimes. Our results agree with previous studies on wind speed series correlations in other regions of the world, which is suggestive of universal behavior.  相似文献

An electron beam from a laser-plasma accelerator is converted into a gamma-ray source using bremsstrahlung radiation in a dense material. The gamma-ray beam has a pointlike source size because it is generated by a high quality electron beam with a small source size and a low divergence. Using this gamma-ray source, the radiography of complex and dense objects with submillimeter resolution is performed. It is the first evidence of a gamma-ray source size of a few hundreds micrometers produced with laser-driven accelerators. This size is consistent with results from Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

We examine Galilei-invariant linear wave equations in a non-commutative phase space. Specifically, we establish and solve the Galilean covariant Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equation for spin-0 fields in a harmonic oscillator potential. We obtain these wave equations with a Galilean covariant approach, based on a (4+1)-dimensional manifold with light-cone coordinates followed by a reduction to a (3+1)-dimensional spacetime. We find the exact wave functions and their energy levels, and we examine the effects of non-commutativity.  相似文献

The Double Chooz experiment presents an indication of reactor electron antineutrino disappearance consistent with neutrino oscillations. An observed-to-predicted ratio of events of 0.944±0.016(stat)±0.040(syst) was obtained in 101 days of running at the Chooz nuclear power plant in France, with two 4.25 GW(th) reactors. The results were obtained from a single 10 m(3) fiducial volume detector located 1050 m from the two reactor cores. The reactor antineutrino flux prediction used the Bugey4 flux measurement after correction for differences in core composition. The deficit can be interpreted as an indication of a nonzero value of the still unmeasured neutrino mixing parameter sin(2)2θ(13). Analyzing both the rate of the prompt positrons and their energy spectrum, we find sin(2)2θ(13)=0.086±0.041(stat)±0.030(syst), or, at 90% C.L., 0.017相似文献

The luminescence properties of Ce3+ in BaAl2O4 are reported. The results of simultaneous measurements of XEOL and XAS in the X-ray energy range that includes the Ba LII,III-edges and Ce LIII edge are shown. The XEOL yield increases as the energy of the photons increases. The radioluminescence spectra, taken from 200 to 1100 nm, showed broad emission bands corresponding to 5d12F5/2, 2F7/2 transitions of Ce3+ when incorporated into two nonequivalent Ba sites. The lifetime of the light emission was also measured using the single bunch operation mode at the Brazilian National Synchrotron Laboratory (LNLS), and BaAl2O4:Ce3+ showed single exponential decay time component of about 44.3 ns.  相似文献
