The electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and its dispersion properties in a four-level inverted-Y atomic system are investigated. The absorption spectrum of a weak probe field shows two EIT windows (dark resonances) whose location, width, and depth can be controlled by manipulating the parameters of the coupling fields; the corresponding dispersion properties are also measured by using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The experimental measurements agree well with the theoretical calculations. This kind of system can find important applications in two-channel quantum communication and information storage.  相似文献

We propose a directional coupler design based on coupled cavity waveguide in photonic crystals. The plane wave expansion is used to give the dispersion of the coupled cavity waveguides and two parallel such waveguides. The couple length is got from the dispersion curves. Based on the research of the dispersion, we present a directional coupler and the transmission property is given. This structure is potentially important for highly efficient directional coupler in integrate optical circuit.  相似文献

Systems consisting of identical bosons with a large scattering length satisfy universal relations determined by 2-body physics that are similar to those for fermions with two spin states. They require the momentum distribution to have a large-momentum 1/k(4) tail and the radio-frequency transition rate to have a high-frequency 1/ω(3/2) tail, both of which are proportional to the 2-body contact. Identical bosons also satisfy additional universal relations that are determined by 3-body physics and involve the 3-body contact, which measures the probability of 3 particles being very close together. The coefficients of the 3-body contact in the 1/k(5) tail of the momentum distribution and in the 1/ω(2) tail of the radio-frequency transition rate are log-periodic functions of k and ω that depend on the Efimov parameter.  相似文献

Active measurements of the plasma stability in tokamak plasmas reveal the importance of kinetic resonances for resistive wall mode stability. The rotation dependence of the magnetic plasma response to externally applied quasistatic n=1 magnetic fields clearly shows the signatures of an interaction between the resistive wall mode and the precession and bounce motions of trapped thermal ions, as predicted by a perturbative model of plasma stability including kinetic effects. The identification of the stabilization mechanism is an essential step towards quantitative predictions for the prospects of "passive" resistive wall mode stabilization, i.e., without the use of an "active" feedback system, in fusion-alpha heated plasmas.  相似文献

A Sagnac interferometer with a long-period fiber grating (LPG) inscribed in the polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature. Due to the different responses of the LPG and the Sagnac interferometer to strain and temperature, simultaneous measurement can be achieved by monitoring the wavelength shifts and the intensity changes of a resonance dip of the sensor setup. The experimental results show that the achieved sensitivities to strain and temperature are 6.4 × 10− 3 dB/με and 0.65 nm/°C, respectively.  相似文献

Lensless in-line digital particle holography (DPH) can be thought of as a special case of photography, and its depth of focus (DoF) characteristics combine those of both photography and holography. The effect of important parameters such as the pixel size and the number of pixels in a charge-coupled device (CCD), the object's distance, the wavelength of the laser, and the particle diameter on the DoF of a reconstruction image in lensless in-line DPH was investigated using simulation holograms. The DoF is directly proportional to the object distance and the particle size. As the wavelength of the laser increases, the DoF decreases. The DoF is inversely proportional to the pixel size and to the number of pixels in a CCD. Instead of expressing nonspecific proportional relationships for DoF, the DoF prediction equations for typical CCD cameras were obtained using DoF data from many simulation holograms and efficient data-fitting software. Finally, the DoF prediction equations were verified using real holograms from a calibration target for several cases. Good agreement between measured and predicted values was confirmed.  相似文献

The heterogeneous nucleation and growth of CdSe domains on the Fe3O4 seed nanocrystals are hard to be controlled because of significant lattice mismatch between Fe3O4 and CdSe nanocrystals. Current study exploits the choice of surface ligand and crystal morphology for Fe3O4 seed to investigate ways to overcome the energy barrier imposed by the lattice mismatch for the promotion and control of subsequent growth of CdSe nanocrystals on seeded crystals. Results indicate that the growth of CdSe domains on seed nanocrystals not only depends on the affinity of ligands toward seed nanocrystals, but also is affected by the seed ligands in a similar way to synthesizing individual second-domain nanocrystals. Furthermore, preferential growth of CdSe domains on the corner of cubic seeds are observed, and cubic Fe3O4 nanocrystals are favored for the heterogeneous nucleation of CdSe as opposed to spherical ones. A three-stage growth model (heterostructures formation, the adsorption of Se and the heterogeneous nucleation and growth) is proposed, where choice of ligands, geometry features, such as surface curvature and defects are found to have significant impact to overcome energy barrier from lattice mismatch.  相似文献

Motivated by the recent pioneering advances on nanoscale plasmonics and also nanophotonics technology based on the surface plasmons (SPs), in this work, we give a master equation model in the Lindblad form and investigate the quantum optical properties of single quantum dot (QD) emitter coupled to the SPs of a metallic nanowire. Our main results demonstrate the QD luminescence results of photon emission show three distinctive regimes depending on the distance between QD and metallic nanowire, which elucidates a crossover passing from being metallic dissipative for much smaller emitter-nanowire distances to surface plasmon (SP) emission for larger separations at the vicinity of plasmonic metallic nanowire. Besides, our results also indicate that, for both the resonant case and the detuning case, through measuring QD emitter luminescence spectra and second-order correlation functions, the information about the QD emitter coupling to the SPs of the dissipative metallic nanowire can be extracted. This theoretical study will serve as an introduction to understanding the nanoplasmonic imaging spectroscopy and pave a new way to realize the quantum information devices.  相似文献
