The free particle as described by stochastic electrodynamics

Stochastic electrodynamics applied to an extended electron reproduces the basic properties of the quantum-mechanical free particle.     

Applications of radio and radiation chemistry to chemical evolution studies

The gamma radiolysis of malonic acid, succinic acid and their corresponding nitriles was carried out over a wide interval of radiation doses. The radiolytic products detected were H₂, CO₂, CO, NH₃ and carboxylic acids. The results obtained supported the hypothesis that in the prebiotic milieu, ionizing radiation might have contributed to the synthesis of compounds of relevance in biological systems.     

Nucleon currents between highly excited nuclei: (II). Influence of the relative motion

A finite-temperature Thomas-Fermi method has been used to study the nucleon flux between two hot semi-infinite slabs of nuclear matter in arbitrary relative motion. As an application, we estimate the imaginary part of the optical potential associated with nucléon transfer at the strong absorption radius. Analytical fits to the exact results are given for head-on and tangential collisions at zero temperature.     

Contact electromagnetic terms and nuclear shadowing of high-energy photons

The relevance of contact electromagnetic terms in the absorption of photons by nucleons and nuclei is pointed out. A model for computing those terms is presented. Results for the nuclear shadowing of photons are given.     

The injective hull op an operator ideal on locally convex spaces

In his book (3), Pietsch presents the problem of a direct construction of the injective hull of an operator ideal on loca. lly convex spaces. We construct the infective hull of an arbitrary operator ideal on locally convex spaces using the functor, where and B cover the family of all equicontinuous subsets of E'(L is the category of all locally convex spaces). If the operator ideal is bounded, we ob tain its infective hull using seminorm ideals.     

Polycyclic hydroxyquinones-xix : Regiospecific synthesis of anthracyclinones via the diels-alder reaction with dichloronaphthazarins

A convenient route to the daunomycinone precursor 18via a succession of Diels-Alder reactions from 2,7-dichloronaphthazarin (9) is described. In a similar manner, starting from 2,6-dichloronaphthazarin (19) compound 20, a regioisomer of 18,is synthesized. This methodology constitutes a regiospecific approach to (±)-daunomycinone and related anthracyclinones.     

Gaussian Hückel model

One set of non-linear equations of the modified Hückel model is obtained.     

Reductive homogeneous pseudo-Riemannian manifolds

A classification of homogeneous pseudo-Riemannian structures and a characterization of each primitive class are obtained. Several examples are also given.
