The effect of radiofrequency modulation of 57Fe hyperfine interaction by rotating magnetic field

The effect of ⁵⁷Fe hyperfine interaction radiofrequency (rf) modulation by external rotating magnetic field was studied in thin Permalloy foil by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy. The rf effect was investigated as a function of intensity for several rf field frequencies. The experiments show that the external rotating rf field causes considerable changes in the hyperfine pattern. The obtained spectra are in disagreement with those obtained by Perlow [Phys. Rev. 172 (1968) 319]. They also are inconsistent with magnetostriction hypothesis. Proceeding from the Mössbauer spectrum analysis one may conclude that the magnetization of investigated foil changes its direction in a complex manner. However, the undertaken experiments show that the essential number of Mössbauer nuclei experience the rotating magnetic field influence.     

Stationary Distribution Function Estimation for Ergodic Diffusion Process

The problem of nonparametric stationary distribution function estimation by the observations of an ergodic diffusion process is considered. The local asymptotic minimax lower bound on the risk of all the estimators is found and it is proved that the empirical distribution function is asymptotically efficient in the sense of this bound.     

Optimization of the synthesis of non-symmetrical alkyl dimethyl sulfonium halides

This work is aimed at the optimization of the yield and purity of non-symmetrical trialkyl sulfonium halide salts. The effects of parameters such as solvent, temperature and concentration were studied. The products were carefully analyzed and the crystal structure of [{n-CH₃(CH₂)₁₅}(CH₃)₂S]Br determined. The overall aim of the present study is future syntheses of low-dimensional magnetic materials.     

Multiplicity of zeros and discrete orthogonal polynomials

We consider a problem of bounding the maximal possible multiplicity of a zero of some expansions Σ a_iF_i(x), at a certain point c, depending on the chosen family {imi}. The most important example is a polynomial with c = 1. It is shown that this question naturally leads to discrete orthogonal polynomials. Using this connection we derive some new bounds, in particular on the multiplicity of the zero at one of a polynomial with a prescribed norm. 30C15, 33C47     

Mathematical modeling of the Magnus effect in the geometrical optics approximation

The Magnus effect in multimode fibers with triangular and parabolic refractive index profiles (RIPs) is simulated in the geometrical optics approximation. The calculations confirm the linear relation between the angle of rotation Δ? and the fiber length z. The results of calculations for a spiral path with constant radius are compared with the analytical solution obtained. For a fiber with a parabolic RIP, the value of Δ? obtained in this work is one-half the result obtained in the wave approach.     

Radio-frequency controllable quantum interference in Mössbauer spectroscopy

The role of quantum interference (QI) in spectra of the resonant Mössbauer scattering is investigated. As a mechanism ensuring the QI conditions, the radio-frequency (RF) mixing of the spin sublevels of the excited nuclear state is considered. It is shown that QI leads to a significant intensity redistribution of the elastic and Raman scattering.     

Maxwell’s equations in the Majorana representation in a locally isotropic chiral medium

Maxwell’s equations in the Majorana representation are generalized to the case of a chiral medium. A relation between the dynamic variables and the parameters of a chiral medium is found. An expression for the current density 4-vector is obtained for the medium under consideration.     

Photostimulated phenomena in relaxors

The action of illumination on the conducting and dielectric properties of lead magnoniobate was investigated. The photostimulated currents were examined and the spectral dependence of photoconductivity in the region of diffuse phase transition was obtained. It was found that the illumination affects the dielectric properties and that its action is memorized at temperatures below room temperature. The role of defect states in the formation of relaxor properties is discussed on the basis of the obtained data.     

Ammonium sulfatophosphate producing from the phosphorites of Central Kyzylkum

The necessity of using sulfur-containig fertilizers in agricultural production is evidenced. By neutralizaation with gaseous amonia of a mixture of extractive phosphoric and sulfuric acids the ammonium sulfatophosphates are produced, containing nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur in various ratio. The regimes for producing them are described and material flows in the industrial manufacturing are given.
