The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters for the reaction of 1‐methylphosphirane with dimethylphosphide (PMe), proceeding via attack at the ring phosphorus atom to give Me2P–PMe plus ethylene, were calculated at the G3(MP2)‐RAD(+) level. The rate constant for this mechanism (k = 1.1 × 1013 L mol−1 s−1 at 25°C) is seven orders of magnitude greater than that for the previously studied mechanism involving attack at carbon. Experimental investigations with 1‐phenylphosphirane gave consistent results: Treatment with LiPMePh yielded no detectable polymer, and quenching with MeI gave the known diphosphine (R*, R*)‐(±)/(R*, S*)‐MePhP‐‐PMePh. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Dengue fever is a vector-borne viral disease that has become a worrisome health issue in tropical and subtropical countries. The seasonal trend of dengue incidence encourages outbreaks with a high risk of infection at particular periods annually that potentially resulted in a significant economic burden. The epidemiological mathematical model, the SIR-SI model, is modified by considering the time-dependent and periodic-forced infection rate parameter through sinusoidal functions to obtain well data fitting. We show the existence and the stability of the disease-free and endemic equilibria for the system and their relation to the basic reproduction number of the disease. Next, we adapt the insurance concept to develop an insurance mathematical model that accommodates the proposed dengue transmission model in calculating nominal premiums. An increase in the basic reproduction number as an important indicator of the level of disease transmission risk resulted in an increase in the nominal premium. We also introduce a reserve function that guarantees sufficient premium payments collected by insurer to cover up future expenditure due to dengue outbreaks. Through this reserve function, we obtain an adjusted premium as a minimum value of premium which ensures that the reserve function is always positive. Mathematical models combined with insurance features have the potential to become important tools for relevant authorities to gain insight into disease transmission dynamics as well as assess the economic burden induced by the occurrence of disease outbreaks.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate a frictional contact problem between a thermo-piezoelectric body and an obstacle (such as a foundation). The thermo-piezoelectric constitutive law is assumed to be nonlinear. Modified Signorini''s contact conditions are used to describe the contact, and these are adjusted to account for temperature-dependent unilateral conditions, which are associated with a nonlocal Coulomb friction law. The problem is formulated as a coupled system of displacement field, electric potential, and temperature, which is solved using a variational approach. The existence of a weak solution is established through the utilization of elliptic quasi-variational inequalities, strongly monotone operators, and the fixed point method. Finally, an iterative method is suggested to solve the coupled system, and a convergence analysis is established under appropriate conditions.  相似文献

We introduce new potential type operators Jab = (E+(-D)b/2)-a/bJ^{\alpha}_{\beta} = (E+(-\Delta)^{\beta/2})^{-\alpha/\beta}, (α > 0, β > 0), and bi-parametric scale of function spaces Hab, p(\mathbbRn)H^{\alpha}_{\beta , p}({\mathbb{R}}^n) associated with Jαβ. These potentials generalize the classical Bessel potentials (for β = 2), and Flett potentials (for β = 1). A characterization of the spaces Hab, p(\mathbbRn)H^{\alpha}_{\beta, p}({\mathbb{R}}^n) is given with the aid of a special wavelet–like transform associated with a β-semigroup, which generalizes the well-known Gauss-Weierstrass semigroup (for β = 2) and the Poisson one (for β = 1).  相似文献

Saffron petals, which are the main by-products of Crocus sativus L. (Iridaceae family), are produced in large quantities and are known for their many beneficial properties. In this regard, this study aims to investigate the phenolic composition and antibacterial properties of hydroethanolic extracts from Crocus sativus L. petals collected from Serghina (province of Boulmane) in Morocco. The phenolic profiles were characterized using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a photodiode array and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-PDA-ESI/MS). The antibacterial potential was evaluated against four bacterial strains potentially causing food-borne disease (Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, and Listeria monocytogenes) using disc diffusion and broth micro-dilution assays. Results showed that a total of 27 phenolic compounds was detected in the Crocus sativus L. petal extracts, which were assigned to flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, and myricetin derivatives). The most abundant compound was represented by kaempferol-sophoroside isomer (20.82 mg/g ± 0.152), followed by kaempferol-sophoroside-hexoside (2.63 mg/g ± 0.001). The hydroethanolic extracts of Crocus sativus L. petals demonstrated bactericidal effects against Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocetogenes and bacteriostatic effects against Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium. Therefore, the by-product Crocus sativus L. petal extracts might be considered as valuable sources of natural antibacterial agents with potential applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.  相似文献

As an antifilariasis drug, oral administration of diethylcarbamazine (DEC) could not effectively deliver the drug to the lymphatic system. Hydrophobic formulation with a particle size of <100 nm could improve the delivery of drug. Accordingly, we developed water in oil nanoemulsion encapsulating DEC. The nanoemulsion was less than 100 nm with negative charge, showing its suitability for lymphatic targeting. The nanoemulsion could sustain the release of DEC and improve the retention in intestinal tissue in comparison with DEC solution. Importantly, this approach did not cause any hemolysis in in vitro study and any irritation in in vivo study.  相似文献
