CNDO calculations of the MCD spectra of 7- and 9-methyladenine have been carried out in two approximations. A minor modification of the CNDO/S method of Jaffé and coworkers shows an improvement over Jaffé's parameterization with respect to band separations and the signs of the MCDB terms, but is not applicable ton→ π* transitions.  相似文献

A series of polyiminobenzothiazoles was synthesized by the polymerization of either 2,6-dichloro- or 2,6-diphenoxybenzobisthiazole with a number of aromatic diamines. A polymer was also obtained from the self-condensation of either 2-chloro- or 2-phenoxy-6-aminobenzothiazole. The polymers were characterized by their elemental analysis and infrared spectra. Thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, and softening under load were used to evaluate their thermal properties. The polymers were found to be light tan to brown powders which showed only slight softening below their decomposition temperatures. Onset of breakdown under thermogravimetric analysis in a nitrogen atmosphere generally occurred at 375–400°C. The polymers were sparingly soluble in organic solvents and had inherent viscosities in the range of 0.11–0.55.  相似文献

An efficient strategy is described for the synthesis of enantiopure calystegine alkaloids. The key step employs a zinc-mediated fragmentation of benzyl-protected methyl 6-iodo-glycosides followed by in situ formation of the benzyl imine and Barbier-type allylation with zinc, magnesium, or indium metal. Stereochemistry in the pivotal allylation is controlled by the choice of the metal. The functionalized 1,8-nonadienes, thus formed, are converted into cycloheptenes by ring-closing olefin metathesis. Regioselective hydroboration and oxidation give the corresponding cycloheptanones, which are deprotected to afford the desired calystegines. Hereby, calystegine B(2), B(3), and B(4) are prepared from D-glucose, D-galactose, and D-mannose, respectively. This route constitutes the shortest synthesis of calystegine B(2) and gives rise to the first total syntheses of calystegine B(3) and B(4).  相似文献

Asymmetric hydrogenation of ketone 1 using trans-RuCl(2)[(R)-xylbinap][(R)-daipen] (3) as a catalyst afforded secondary alcohol 2 quantitatively and in 99.4% ee. Further exploration of the effect of the thiazole ring substitution revealed that the catalyst was highly effective for the enantioselective hydrogenation of 5-benzoyl thiazoles, which afforded corresponding alcohols in 92-99% ee. The same protocol was applicable to a variety of aromatic-heteroaromatic ketones to generate secondary alcohols in excellent enantioselectivities. [reaction: see text]  相似文献

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation results in increased levels of intradermal cis-urocanic acid (cUCA) and alters cutaneous immunity by interfering with processing and presentation of antigen by Langerhans cells. Reports on effects of systemic immunotoxicity with 30 day cUCA exposure in laboratory rodents include thymic atrophy, thymic hypocellularity and decreased T-cell-mediated immunity; however, immune effects of single exposure or 5 day cUCA administration, which may better mimic human exposures, are poorly defined. The present study initially evaluated immune effects of single, 5 day, and 4 week cUCA exposure in C57BL/6N mice. Single administration of intradermal cUCA resulted in decreased splenocyte phagocytosis that persisted for 30 days after cUCA exposure. Five day consecutive cUCA exposure decreased numbers of phenotypically mature CD4(+)CD8(-) and CD4(-)CD8(+) (single positive) thymocytes, increased CD4(+)CD8(+) (double positive) immature thymocytes and increased splenocyte proliferation. Prolonged cUCA exposure (4 weeks) caused profound thymic hypocellularity and splenic hypercellularity and increased splenic macrophage chemiluminescence. Because of this apparent sensitivity of C57BL/6N mice to cUCA, thymic hypocellularity was compared between C57BL/6N and C3H/HeN mice dosed with cUCA, and was found to be more pronounced in the C57BL/6N strain. These results are an extension of previous conclusions on immune modulation caused by cUCA in the spleen and thymus. Further, the observed variation in sensitivity between the mouse strains is consistent with known genetic susceptibility of these strains to the immunomodulatory effects of exposure to sunlight.  相似文献

We report the sidewall functionalization of soluble HiPco single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) by addition of dichlorocarbene. The dichlorocarbene-functionalized SWNTs [(s-SWNT)CCl(2)] retain their solubility in organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran and dichlorobenzene. The degree of dichlorocarbene functionalization was varied between 12% and 23% by using different amounts of the dichlorocarbene precursor. Because the addition of dichlorocarbene saturates the carbon atoms on the sidewall of the SWNTs and effectively replaces the delocalized partial double bonds with a cyclopropane functionality, the optical spectra of the SWNTs change dramatically. We estimate that the saturation of 25% of the pi-network electronic structure of the SWNTs is sufficient to remove all vestiges of the interband transitions in the infrared spectrum. The transitions at the Fermi level in the metallic SWNTs that appear in the far-infrared (FIR) region of the spectrum show a dramatic decrease of intensity on dichlorocarbene functionalization. The FIR region of the spectrum allows a clear differentiation between the covalent and the ionic chemistry of SWNTs. In contrast with covalent functionalization, we show that reaction of the SWNTs with bromine vapor leads to a strong increase in absorptions at the Fermi level that is observable in the FIR due to hole doping of the semiconducting SWNTs. Thermal treatment of the (s-SWNT)CCl(2) above 300 degrees C resulted in the breakage of C-Cl bonds, but did not restore the original electronic structure of the SWNTs.  相似文献

Molecular-scale electronics has now been enriched by the discovery that molecules, studied singly by scanning tunneling spectroscopy, or a large array of those molecules, studied in parallel as a Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer between metal electrodes, exhibit rectification, i.e., an asymmetric current as a function of applied voltage.This asymmetry can come, first, from work function differences between two dissimilar metals or the metal-molecule interfaces (Schottky barriers), second from an asymmetric placement of the chromophore between the two metal electrodes, and third, from an asymmetry of the molecular orbitals of the molecule.This third, electronic origin of rectification, first proposed by Aviram and Ratner in 1974, and confirmed in the work reported here, gives us hope that, not too many years from now, molecules can form the basis of ultra-small yet ultra-fast electronic devices and integrated circuits.  相似文献
