Research on the defect structure and g factors for the tetragonal (CrO4)3− impurity center in ZrSiO4: Cr5+ crystal

ABSTRACT

The EPR g factors g// and g⊥ for the tetragonal (CrO₄)^3? impurity center in ZrSiO4: Cr⁵⁺ crystal are studied from the high-order perturbation formulas based on the two-mechanism (the crystal field and charge-transfer mechanisms) model. The studies indicate that differing from the tetragonally-elongated host (SiO4)^4- tetrahedron, the dominant defect structure of the substitutional (CrO₄)^3? tetrahedron is tetragonally- compressed with the ground state |d_z² due to the Jahn-Teller distortion. Furthermore, the agreement of g factors between calculation and experiment requires a small admixture of the first excited state |d_x²_?y² to the ground state |d_z² due to the vibrational motion of ligands, which leads a compressed (CrO₄)^3? tetrahedron to become a twinkling elongated one, These results are discussed.     

Comparison of elemental contents of Korean space foods using instrumental neutron activation analysis

The analysis of mineral contents in space foods is needed to obtain an information on a comprehensive elemental composition as well as the investigation on the effects of human nutrition and health based on the dietary intake of mineral elements. Recently, six items of new Korean space foods (KSFs) such as kimchi, bibimbap, bulgogi, a ramen, a mulberry beverage and a fruit punch which was developed by the KAERI, and the contents of more than 15 elements in the samples were examined by using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Five biological certified reference materials, NIST SRM were used for analytical quality control. The results were compared with those of common Korean foods reported, and these results will be applied toward the identification of irradiated foods.     

气相色谱-质谱法分析树苔浸膏的成分

采用分子蒸馏法对树苔浸膏进行分级分离,用气相色谱-质谱法对各级馏分进行定性和定量分析。结果表明:三级馏分共鉴定出55种成分,主要成分是苔黑酚单甲醚、分歧扁枝衣素单甲醚、扁枝衣酸乙酯、柔扁枝衣酸甲酯、β-苔黑酚羧酸甲酯、赤星衣酸乙酯、苔黑酚羧酸乙酯、柔扁枝衣酸乙酯、棕榈酸乙酯、油酸乙酯、亚麻酸乙酯和亚油酸乙酯。     

Poly(4,8‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy)benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene vinylene): Synthesis,optical and photovoltaic properties

A new benzodithiophene (BDT)‐based polymer, poly(4,8‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy)benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene vinylene) (PBDTV), was synthesized by Pd‐catalyzed Stille‐coupling method. The polymer is soluble in common organic solvents and possesses high thermal stability. PBDTV film shows a broad absorption band covering from 350 nm to 618 nm, strong photoluminescence peaked at 545 nm and high hole mobility of 4.84 × 10^?3 cm²/Vs. Photovoltaic properties of PBDTV were studied by fabricating the polymer solar cells based on PBDTV as donor and PC₇₀BM as acceptor. With the weight ratio of PBDTV: PC₇₀BM of 1:4 and the active layer thickness of 65 nm, the power conversion efficiency of the device reached 2.63% with V_oc = 0.71 V, I_sc = 6.46 mA/cm², and FF = 0.57 under the illumination of AM1.5, 100 mW/cm². © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Synthesis of novel chiral oxazoline-Schiff base ligands for the catalytic asymmetric chlorination of β-keto esters

A series of novel monooxazoline-Schiff base ligands 1 has been successfully synthesized. The Cu(I)–1a complex showed excellent catalytic activities with up to 83% ee for the asymmetric α-chlorination of β-keto esters.     

Influence of Selective Edge Removal and Refractory Period in a Self-Organized Critical Neuron Model

A simple model for a set of integrate-and-fire neurons based on the weighted network is introduced. By considering the neurobiological phenomenon in brain development and the difference of the synaptic strength, we construct weighted networks develop with link additions and followed by selective edge removal. The network exhibits the small-world and scale-free properties with high network efficiency. The model displays an avalanche activity on a power-law distribution. We investigate the effect of selective edge removal and the neuron refractory period on the self-organized criticality of the system.     

Permanence of periodic predator–prey system with two predators and stage structure for prey

A stage-structured three-species predator–prey system with Beddington–DeAngelis and Holling IV functional response is proposed and analyzed. Based on the comparison theorem, some sufficient and necessary conditions are derived for permanence of the system. Finally, two examples are presented to illustrate the application of our main results.     

Palladium‐Initiated Radical Cascade Stereoselective Iodofluoroalkylation/Cycloisomerization of Ene‐vinylidenecyclopropanes

A novel and convenient palladium‐initiated radical cascade stereoselective iodofluoroalkylation/cycloisomerization of ene‐vinylidenecyclopropanes with fluoroalkyl iodides has been developed. The reaction proceeds under mild reaction conditions with high atom economy and stereoselectivity, thereby allowing an efficient access to a variety of difluoromethylated or perfluoroalkylated pyrrolidines tethered with an alkyl iodide. Two plausible radical pathways for the transformation have been proposed on the basis of the results of control experiments and previous reports, which in one case it was thought that palladium(0) was an initiator rather than a catalyst.
