A method for structured linear total least norm on blind deconvolution problem

The regularized structured total least norm (RSTLN) method finds an approximate solutionx and error matrixE to the overdetermined linear system (H+E)x≈b, preserving structure ofH. A new separation scheme by parts of variables for the regularized structured total least norm on blind deconvolution problem is suggested. A method combining the regularized structured total least norm method with a separation by parts of variables can be obtain a better approximated solution and a smaller residual. Computational results for the practical problem with Block Toeplitz with Toeplitz Block structure show the new method ensures more efficiency on image restoration.     

Synthesis and characterization of a novel polymer based on anthracene moiety for organic thin film transistor

We have designed and synthesized a new polymer, which could be used in the organic thin film transistor (OTFT). Poly[2,6‐bis(3′‐dodecythiophene‐2′‐yl)anthracene] (PDTAn), which is composed with anthracene moiety and dodecyl alkyl thiophene, was synthesized by oxidative polymerization using iron (III) chloride. The mole ratio of FeCl₃ and monomer (4.2:1), keeping low temperature during the initiation reaction, amount of solvent, and dropping order were very important for oxidative polymerization without crosslinking. The molecular weight of the polymer (M_w) was measured to be 40,000 with 2.85 of polydispersity index by GPC. The physical and optical properties of the polymer were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and optical absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. A field‐effect mobility of 1.1 × 10^?4 cm² V^?1 S^?1, a current on/off ratio of 10⁵, and the V_th at ?15.2 V had been obtained for OTFTs using this polymer semiconductor by solution coating. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Synthesis and separation of mellitic acid and graphite oxide colloid through electrochemical oxidation of graphite in deionized water

Electrochemical oxidation of graphite anode in deionized water at galvanostatic mode is investigated. It is found that mellitic acid and graphite oxide colloid (>20 nm) are coexisted as main products, as identified by XRD and TEM, FTIR and XPS. They can be separated successfully through several procedures. A few amounts of graphene and graphene rolls are also appeared as co-products.     

On a posterior evaluation of a simple greedy method for set packing

We consider an approach for ex post evaluation of approximate solutions obtained by a well known simple greedy method for set packing. A performance bound is derived that is a function of the highest average reward per item over subsets as well as the number of allocated subsets and ground items. This a posterior bound can enable much revelation of optimality when the solution is near optimal. One of the advantages of the ex post analysis is that it does not require computing the optimal solution to the LP relaxation. The ex post bound will not be guaranteed to reveal substantial levels of optimality for all problem instances but can be a useful tool that is complementary to other traditional methods for ex post evaluation for the set packing problem.     

Design of a Resonant-Cavity-Enhanced p-i-n GaN/AlxGa1-xN Photodetector

A resonant-cavity-enhanced p-i-n photodetector has been designed and analyzed to operate at a wavelength of 360 nm based on the Al_xGa_1-xN material system. The novel approach has been adopted of using epitaxial AlN/Al_xGa_1-xN quarter-wave stacks as the distributed Bragg reflector that serves as the front mirror. An Al_xGa_1-xN absorptive filter layer is incorporated to suppress all but one resonant mode to ensure single, narrow-band operation.
