Spintronic devices are very important for futuristic information technology. Suitable materials for such devices should have half-metallic properties so that only one spin passes through the device. In particular, organic half metals have the advantage that they may be used for flexible devices and have a long spin-coherence length. We predict that the one-dimensional infinite chromium porphyrin array, which we call Cr-PA(∞), shows half-metallic behavior when the spins on the chromium atoms are in a parallel alignment. Since the chromium atoms are separated by a large distance (>8 ?), the coupling between spins is small and thus their directions can be readily controlled by an external magnetic field. In the ferromagnetic state, the band gap for major spin electrons is 0.30 eV, while there is no band gap for the minor spin electrons, thus reflecting the half-metallic property. This unique property originates from the high spin state of Cr which results in the spin asymmetry of the conduction band in Cr-PA(∞). Electron transport of Cr-PA(1,2,3) is calculated with the nonequilibrium Green function technique in the presence of Au electrodes. It turned out that the spin-filtering ability appears from the dimeric Cr-PA(2). Thus, a new organometallic framework for designing a spin filter is proposed. Though many others have designed novel spintronic devices, none of them are realized due to the lack of a practical fabrication method at present. Two kinds of topical dosage forms of hinokitiol (HKL), namely vesicles and oil‐in‐water (O/W) emulsions, were prepared. Behenyl trimethylammonium chloride (BTMAC) and fatty acids were used as bilayer‐forming materials of the vesicles, and oils were employed as oil phases of the emulsions. The substantivity of HKL in the preparations was evaluated in vitro using hairless mouse skins. After applying the preparations onto the skin and rinsing it, the amount of HKL left on the skin was determined using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). It was higher when HKL was encapsulated in cationic vesicles rather than in nonionic vehicles, emulsions. An ionic interaction between the cationic vehicle and negatively charged skin is likely to account for the high substantivity. Among the emulsion preparations, an emulsion having octyl salicylate as oil phase exhibited the highest substantivity of HKL. This is probably because that the oil is a good solvent for HKL and it is skin‐retentive. In vivo hair growth‐promotion effect of each dosage form was investigated, where the sample application onto the clipped backs of female mice (C57BL6) and the subsequent rinsing of the backs were done once a day for 30 days. We reported on two polymer semiconducting copolymers based on porphyrin compounds, poly[9,9-dioctylfluorene-co-5,15-bis(hexoxybenzyl)-10,20-bis(benzo-4-yl)porphyrin] (PFPor) and poly[9-(heptadecan-9-yl)carbazole-co-5,15-bis(hexoxybenzyl)-10,20-bis(benzo-4-yl)porphyrin] (PCPor), for use as organic photovoltaic materials. The thermal, optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties of the two polymers were investigated. In addition, PC61BM and PC71BM were introduced as acceptor materials to confirm the acceptor effect in bulk heterojunction photovoltaic devices. Moreover, in order to establish acceptor effects, morphologies of polymer/PCBM blend films were analyzed through atomic force microscopy (AFM). PFPor and PCPor exhibited the best device performance with power conversion efficiencies (PCE) of 0.62% and 0.76%, respectively, upon the introduction of PC71BM as the acceptor in the device where 86 wt.% of the PC71BM was contained in the active layer (pol:PC71BM = 1:6, w/w). 相似文献

We describe a novel UV-curable mold that is stiff enough for replicating dense sub-100-nm features even with a high aspect ratio. It also allows for flexibility when the mold is prepared on a flexible support such that large area replication can be accomplished. The composite material of the mold is inert to chemicals and solvents. The surface energy is made low with a small amount of releasing agent such that the mold can be removed easily and cleanly after patterning. In addition, the material allows self-replication of the mold. These unique features of the mold material should make the mold quite useful for various patterning purposes. 相似文献

The preparation of an 1,3-alternate calix[4]arene phosphorus ligand, 25,27-bis(2-(diphenylphosphino)ethoxy)-26,28-bis(1-propyloxy)calix[4]arene (3), is presented. Ligand 3 is obtained in three steps in 64% overall yield. Reaction of 3 with [Rh(cot)2]BF4 produced the encapsulated rhodium complex [Rh[(P,P)-diphen-calix[4]arene]]BF4 (4). As revealed by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study, the rhodium center has a bent coordination environment with a P-Rh-P angle of 135.66(3) degrees. Palladation of 3 employing [Pd(MeCN)4](BF4)2 yielded the chelate palladium complex 7 in which the palladium center has a slightly bent configuration. Treatment of the ligand with Pd(cod)Cl2 and [Pd(eta3-C4H7)(THF)2]BF4 leads to the isolation of the monometallic complex. A new low molecular mass organogelator 1 containing 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole (HPB) group with long alkyl chain was synthesized by the reaction with 5-amino-2-(2′-hydroxy-4′-methylphenyl)benzoxazole and dodecyl isocyanate in THF at room temperature. The reversible gelation ability of 1 was investigated using a heating-cooling method in various organic solvents. The stable organogel was formed from carbon tetrachloride or from cyclohexane at the concentration as low as 0.9%. The self-assembled supramolecular gel structure formed by non-covalent bonding was confirmed with field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) exhibiting fibril- or ribbon-shaped structure depending on the solvent used. Regarding the aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) phenomenon, the optical properties were investigated in its solution and gelled state. The detecting properties of resulting organogel toward nerve gas simulant were monitored by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Both color change from colorless to greenish yellow and disruption of gel structure resulting from alteration in intermolecular forces were observed upon the exposure to nerve gas simulant. 相似文献

The first example of cyclometalated platinum(II)-containing rhodamine probe (1) with two-photon induced luminescent properties was synthesized and investigated for mercury detection. A highly selective color change of 1, from light yellow to pink, is observed only in the presence of Hg2+ due to the formation of 1,3,4-oxadiazole ring in 2. This selectivity of Hg2+ with color changes can be observed easily by the naked-eye. Meanwhile, a remarkable turn-on and selective 20-fold fluorescent enhancement of 1 upon binding with Hg2+ over the other tested metal ions was observed. The water-soluble probe 1 was successfully applied in the visualizing of the site of Hg2+ accumulation as well as estimating of trace amounts of mercury ions in live HeLa cells by two-photon microscopy. 相似文献
