Anisotropic stellar structures in the f(T) theory of gravity with quintessence via embedding approach

This work suggests a new model for anisotropic compact stars with quintessence in f(T)gravity by us-ing the off-diagonal tetrad and the power-law as f(T)=βTⁿ,where T is the scalar torsion andβand n are real con-stants.The acquired field equations incorporating the anisotropic matter source along with the quintessence field,in f(T)gravity,are investigated by making use of the specific character of the scalar torsion T for the observed stars PSRJ1614-2230,4U1608-52.CenX-3,EXO1785-248,and SMCX-1.It is suggested that all the stellar struc-tures under examination are advantageously independent of any central singularity and are stable.Comprehensive graphical analysis shows that various physical features which are crucially important for the emergence of the stellar structures are conferred.

Experimental evaluation of the Wyoming-modified two-rail shear test method for composite materials

In-plane unidirectional shear properties of carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy materials were measured using unidirectional and cross-ply specimens utilizing the Wyomingmodified two-rail shear test fixture. Simple test specimens of trapezoidal and rectangular geometries, and specimens with tabs were tested. Various specimen sspect ratios were also considered. Untabbed unidirectional specimens exhibited premature shear failures but cross-ply specimens produced reasonably reliable results with acceptable failure modes. Both bonded tab and integral tab 0° specimens were found to give comparable results. Unidirectional and cross-ply PEEK specimens, and angle-ply and quasi-isotropic AS4/3501-6 specimens, were also tested.     

Common fixed point results for two new classes of hybrid pairs in symmetric spaces

Some common fixed point theorems due to Abbas and Khan [M. Abbas, A.R. Khan, Common fixed points of generalized contractive hybrid pairs in symmetric spaces, Fixed Point Theor. Appl. 2009 (2009) 11, Article ID 869407, doi:10.1155/2009/869407], and Abbas and Rhoades [M. Abbas, B.E. Rhoades, Common fixed point theorems for hybrid pairs of occasionally weakly compatible mappings defined on symmetric spaces, Pan. Amer. Math. J. 18 (1) (2008) 55-62] are proved for two new classes of hybrid pair of mappings which contain occasionally weakly compatible hybrid pairs as a proper subclass. Consequently, some results proved by Hussain et al. [N. Hussain, M.A. Khamsi, A. Latif, Common fixed points for JH-operators and occasionally weakly biased pairs under relaxed conditions, Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011) 2133-2140], Bhatt et al. [A. Bhatt, et al., Common fixed point theorems for occasionally weakly compatible mappings under relaxed conditions, Nonlinear Anal. 73 (2010) 176-182] and many others are extended to hybrid pair of mappings. Examples are also presented to support the concepts defined in the paper.

In this paper, we prove the (Lp,Lq)-boundedness of (fractional) Hausdorff operators with power weight on Euclidean spaces.As special cases, we can obtain some well known results about Hardy operators.     

Conformal Collineations of the Ricci and Energy–Momentum Tensors in Static Plane Symmetric Space–Times

We provide a complete classification of static plane symmetric space–times according to conformal Ricci collineations (CRCs) and conformal matter collineations (CMCs) in both the degenerate and nondegenerate cases. In the case of a nondegenerate Ricci tensor, we find a general form of the vector field generating CRCs in terms of unknown functions of t and x subject to some integrability conditions. We then solve the integrability conditions in different cases depending upon the nature of the Ricci tensor and conclude that the static plane symmetric space–times have a 7-, 10- or 15-dimensional Lie algebra of CRCs. Moreover, we find that these space–times admit an infinite number of CRCs if the Ricci tensor is degenerate. We use a similar procedure to study CMCs in the case of a degenerate or nondegenerate matter tensor. We obtain the exact form of some static plane symmetric space–time metrics that admit nontrivial CRCs and CMCs. Finally, we present some physical applications of our obtained results by considering a perfect fluid as a source of the energy–momentum tensor.
