A competitive model in a chemostat with nutrient recycling and antibiotic treatment

A model for competition between antibiotic-sensitive and antibiotic-resistant bacteria with nutrient recycling and antibiotic treatment in a chemostat is considered. The sufficient and necessary conditions for boundedness of the solution and existence of non-negative equilibria are derived. The extinction and uniform persistence of antibiotic-sensitive and antibiotic-resistant bacteria are also carried out. Numerical simulations are then given to illustrate our main results.     

Friedel–Crafts alkylation between chalcone epoxides and heteroarenes induced by triarylaminium salt

Triarylaminium salt was disclosed as a highly efficient nonmetallic initiator for the Friedel–Crafts reaction between chalcone epoxides and heteroarenes to construct a series of complex β-heteroaryl α-ketols in mild conditions and with good yields. Chalcone epoxides were presented as valuable halogen-free pre-electrophile in Friedel–Crafts alkylation through the formation of the stabilized benzylic cation intermediates. A plausible radical cation chain mechanism was also proposed.

In the present paper, we introduce some new subclasses of meromorphic starlike,convex, close-to-convex and quasi-convex functions of β-reciprocal in terms of the linear operator using subordination. We obtain the coefficient estimates, convolution properties, integral preserving properties and inclusion relationships of the classes. The results presented here include several results as their special cases.     

Preparation and Characterization of Polyhydroxyurethane/Attapulgite Nanocomposites Via In-Situ Surface-Initiated Polymerization

The polyhydroxyurethane/attapulgite nanocomposites (PHU/ATP) were prepared by in-situ surface-initiated polymerization of a five-membered cyclic carbonate, 2, 2-bis [p-(1, 3-dioxolan-2-one-4-yl-methoxy) phenyl] propane (B5CC) and hexamethylene diamine, from the surface of the aminopropyl attapulgite nanoparticles (APATP) for the first time. The chemical grafting of the polymer on the surface of ATP was confirmed by FTIR and the morphology of the attapulgite nanoparticles in the nanocomposites was examined by TEM. The thermal stabilities of the polyhydroxyurethane (PHU) and the polyhydroxyurethane/attapulgite nanocomposites (PHU/ATP) were compared with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).The %G of the attapulgite nanoparticles was also calculated from the results of TGA after the free polyhydroxyurethane was washed off.     

Torreyanoxane,a New 3,4‐Secoglutinane Triterpenoid Isolated from the Pulp of Torreya nucifera

Torreyanoxane, a novel 3,4‐secoglutinane triterpenoid, was isolated from the pulp of Torreya nucifera. The structure was determined on the basis of spectroscopic methods.     

Synthesis,Structures, Luminescent and Magnetic Properties of Heterometallic 5p‐4f Compounds with Ethylenediaminetetra­acetate

A series of heterometallic Ln^III–Sb^III edta‐containing compounds with the formulas [Sb₂(edta)₂Ln]NO₃ · nH₂O [edta = ethylenediaminetetraacetate; Ln = Eu, n = 7 ( 1 ); Gd, n = 7.5 ( 2 ) and Tb, n = 8 ( 3 )] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses (EA), powder X‐ray diffraction (PXDP), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). Their fluorescence and magnetic properties were also studied. The thermal analysis demonstrates the compounds formation of the antimony, lanthanide ions, and edta^4– ligands. FT‐IR spectra reveal that the antimony and lanthanide ions are connected through the carboxylate bridges. The studies of luminescence properties show that compounds 1 and 3 exhibit typical luminescence in the visible region. Furthermore, magnetic properties reveal compounds 2 and 3 have weak ferromagnetic behavior.
