A new family of compounds is presented as potential carbon monoxide releasing molecules (CORMs). These compounds, based on tetrachlorocarbonyliridate(III) derivatives, were synthesized and fully characterized by X-ray diffraction, electrospray mass spectrometry, IR, NMR, and density functional theory calculations. The rate of CO release was studied via the myoglobin assay. The results showed that the rate depends on the nature of the sixth ligand, trans to CO, and that a significant modulation on the release rate can be produced by changing the ligand. The reported compounds are soluble in aqueous media, and the rates of CO release are comparable with those for known CORMs, releasing CO at a rate of 0.03-0.58 μM min(-1) in a 10 μM solution of myoglobin and 10 μM of the complexes.  相似文献

In recent decades, the number of patients requiring biocompatible and resistant implants that differ from conventional alternatives dramatically increased. Among the most promising are the nanocomposites of biopolymers and nanomaterials, which pretend to combine the biocompatibility of biopolymers with the resistance of nanomaterials. However, few studies have focused on the in vivo study of the biocompatibility of these materials. The electrospinning process is a technique that produces continuous fibers through the action of an electric field imposed on a polymer solution. However, to date, there are no reports of chitosan (CS) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) electrospinning with carbon nano-onions (CNO) for in vivo implantations, which could generate a resistant and biocompatible material. In this work, we describe the synthesis by the electrospinning method of four different nanofibrous membranes of chitosan (CS)/(PVA)/oxidized carbon nano-onions (ox-CNO) and the subdermal implantations after 90 days in Wistar rats. The results of the morphology studies demonstrated that the electrospun nanofibers were continuous with narrow diameters (between 102.1 nm ± 12.9 nm and 147.8 nm ± 29.4 nm). The CS amount added was critical for the diameters used and the successful electrospinning procedure, while the ox-CNO amount did not affect the process. The crystallinity index was increased with the ox-CNO introduction (from 0.85% to 12.5%), demonstrating the reinforcing effect of the nanomaterial. Thermal degradation analysis also exhibited reinforcement effects according to the DSC and TGA analysis, with the higher ox-CNO content. The biocompatibility of the nanofibers was comparable with the porcine collagen, as evidenced by the subdermal implantations in biological models. In summary, all the nanofibers were reabsorbed without a severe immune response, indicating the usefulness of the electrospun nanocomposites in biomedical applications.  相似文献

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by abnormally high plasma glucose levels, leading to major complications, such as insulin resistance, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension, also with alterations in the immune and neuronal systems. Brazilian plants have been studied as important sources for new molecules with medicinal properties. The genus Passiflora known as “Maracujá” has been used as a traditional folk medicine for a long time, so an investigation was performed regarding an endemic kind of passion fruit (Passiflora nitida Kunth) from Amazonas, Brazil. Here, we aimed to determine its potential biological activity against metabolic syndrome, oxidative stress, pain, and inflammation. The hydroethanol leaf extract revealed an in vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of 50 % inhibitory concentration (IC50)?=?6.78?±?0.31 μg/mL and an α-amylase inhibition of IC50?=?93.36?±?4.37. In vivo, experiments of different saccharide tolerance resulted in significant glycemia control and, with alloxan-diabetic mice, resulted in a decrease of total cholesterol, a hypoglycemic effect, and an antioxidant activity by thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances measurement. Also, it decreased the carrageenan-induced edema volume and the rate of writhing as a nociceptive response. These results indicate positive effects of P. nitida extract and its potential to inhibit metabolic syndrome.  相似文献

Differential equations with infinitely many derivatives, sometimes also referred to as “nonlocal” differential equations, appear frequently in branches of modern physics such as string theory, gravitation and cosmology. We properly interpret and solve linear equations in this class with a special focus on a solution method based on the Borel transform. This method is a far-reaching generalization of previous studies of nonlocal equations via Laplace and Fourier transforms, see for instance (Barnaby and Kamran, J High Energy Phys 02:40, 2008; Górka et al., Class Quantum Gravity 29:065017, 2012; Górka et al., Ann Henri Poincaré 14:947–966, 2013). We reconsider “generalized” initial value problems within the present approach and we disprove various conjectures found in modern physics literature. We illustrate various analytic phenomena that can occur with concrete examples, and we also treat efficient implementations of the theory.  相似文献

In the paper mentioned in the title, it is proved the boundedness of the Riesz potential operator of variable order α(x) from variable exponent Morrey space to variable exponent Campanato space, under certain assumptions on the variable exponents p(x) and λ(x) of the Morrey space. Assumptions on the exponents were different depending on whether α ( x ) p ( x ) ? n + λ ( x ) p ( x ) takes or not the critical values 0 or 1. In this note, we improve those results by unifying all the cases and covering the whole range 0 ? α ( x ) p ( x ) ? n + λ ( x ) p ( x ) ? 1. We also provide a correction to some minor technicality in the proof of Theorem 2 in the aforementioned paper.  相似文献

Spatial Vector Solitons in Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Fibers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We study spatial vector solitons in a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) made of a material with the focusing Kerr nonlinearity. We show that such two-component localized nonlinear waves consist of two mutually trapped components confined by the PCF linear and the self-induced nonlinear refractive indices, and they bifurcate from the corresponding scalar solitons. We demonstrate that, in a sharp contrast with an entirely homogeneous nonlinear Kerr medium where both scalar and vector spatial solitons are unstable and may collapse, the periodic structure of PCF can stabilize the otherwise unstable two-dimensional spatial optical solitons. We apply the matrix criterion for stability of these two-parameter solitons, and verify it by direct numerical simulations.  相似文献

We investigate the problem (P λ) ?Δu = λb(x)|u| q?2 u + a(x)|u| p?2 u in Ω, ?u/?n = 0 on ?Ω, where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in R N (N ≥ 2), 1 < q < 2 < p, λ ∈ R, and a, b\({C^\alpha }\left( {\overline \Omega } \right)\) with 0 < α < 1. Under certain indefinite type conditions on a and b, we prove the existence of two nontrivial nonnegative solutions for small |λ|. We then characterize the asymptotic profiles of these solutions as λ → 0, which in some cases implies the positivity and ordering of these solutions. In addition, this asymptotic analysis suggests the existence of a loop type component in the non-negative solutions set. We prove the existence of such a component in certain cases, via a bifurcation and a topological analysis of a regularized version of (P λ).  相似文献
