The recent demonstration of a discharge-driven oxygen-iodine laser has generated renewed interest in the kinetics of iodine interacting with electronically excited O2 and atomic O. Kinetic measurements that are of relevance to the laser have been carried out using 193 nm pulsed laser photolysis of N2O/I2/CO2 mixtures. Singlet oxygen was generated in this system by the reaction O(1D)+N2O-->O2(a1Deltag, X3Sigma-g)+N2. The fraction of electronically excited O2 produced by this channel was shown to be >0.9. The secondary photochemistry of the N2O/I2/CO2 system was characterized by monitoring the time histories of I(2P1/2), I2, IO, and O2(a). Kinetic modeling of these data was used to determine the rate constant for the deactivation of I(2P1/2) by O(3P) (k=(1.2+/-0.1)x10(-11) cm3 s(-1)). Quenching of I(2P1/2) by O(3P) is suppressed in the discharge-driven laser by using NO2 to scavenge the O atoms. The reaction O(3P)+NO2-->O2+NO is sufficiently exothermic for the production of O2(a), and it has been speculated that this channel may be significant in the laser excitation kinetics. Photolysis of NO2 was used to probe this reaction. O2(a) was not detected, and an upper bound of <0.1 for its production in the reaction of O(3P) or O(1D) with NO2 was established.  相似文献

Gas sensors are crucial in environmental monitoring, industrial safety, and medical diagnostics. Due to the rising demand for precise and reliable gas detection, there is a rising demand for cutting-edge gas sensors that possess exceptional sensitivity, selectivity, and stability. Due to their tunable electrical properties, high-density surface-active sites, and significant surface-to-volume ratio, nanomaterials have been extensively investigated in this regard. The traditional gas sensors utilize homogeneous material for sensing where the adsorbed surface oxygen species play a vital role in their sensing activity. However, their performance for selective gas sensing is still unsatisfactory because the employed high temperature leads to the poor stability. The heterostructures nanomaterials can easily tune sensing performance and their different energy band structures, work functions, charge carrier concentration and polarity, and interfacial band alignments can be precisely designed for high-performance selective gas sensing at low temperature. In this review article, we discuss in detail the fundamentals of semiconductor gas sensing along with their mechanisms. Further, we highlight the existed challenges in semiconductor gas sensing. In addition, we review the recent advancements in semiconductor gas sensor design for applications from different perspective. Finally, the conclusion and future perspectives for improvement of the gas sensing performance are discussed.  相似文献

Two series of polycyclic phosphonates were synthesized by reacting p-substituted phenol–formaldehyde resins with excess phosphonic dichlorides under dilute conditions in a polar aprotic solvent. MALDI–TOF was used to detect the absolute masses of different species formed under these conditions. The presence of phosphorus-containing species was also confirmed by 31P-NMR. The polycyclics were subjected to ring-opening polymerization simultaneously with a transesterification reaction with commercial polycarbonates in order to cross-link the polymers and to impart flame retardancy to the final thermosetting materials. Thermal properties of the polycarbonates containing phosphonate moieties were determined by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry techniques. Percent char yields of the final thermosetting materials were considerably higher than that of the linear polycarbonates. The solubility parameters, and solution thermodynamics of temozolomide (TMZ) in 10 frequently used solvents were examined at five different temperatures. The maximum mole fraction solubility of TMZ was ascertained in dimethyl sulfoxide (1.35 × 10−2), followed by that in polyethylene glycol-400 (3.32 × 10−3) > Transcutol® (2.89 × 10−3) > ethylene glycol (1.64 × 10−3) > propylene glycol (1.47 × 10−3) > H2O (7.70 × 10−4) > ethyl acetate (5.44 × 10−4) > ethanol (1.80 × 10−4) > isopropyl alcohol (1.32 × 10−4) > 1-butanol (1.07 × 10−4) at 323.2 K. An analogous pattern was also observed for the other investigated temperatures. The quantitated TMZ solubility values were regressed using Apelblat and Van’t Hoff models and showed overall deviances of 0.96% and 1.33%, respectively. Apparent thermodynamic analysis indicated endothermic, spontaneous, and entropy-driven dissolution of TMZ in all solvents. TMZ solubility data may help to formulate dosage forms, recrystallize, purify, and extract/separate TMZ.  相似文献

Functional foods or drinks prepared using lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have recently gained considerable attention because they can offer additional nutritional and health benefits. The present study aimed to develop functional drinks by the fermentation of buttermilk and soymilk preparations using the Pediococcus acidilactici BD16 (alaD+) strain expressing the L-alanine dehydrogenase enzyme. LAB fermentation was carried out for 24 h and its impact on the physicochemical and quality attributes of the fermented drinks was evaluated. Levels of total antioxidants, phenolics, flavonoids, and especially L-alanine enhanced significantly after LAB fermentation. Further, GC-MS-based metabolomic fingerprinting was performed to identify the presence of bioactive metabolites such as 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, 1-dodecene, 2-aminononadecane, 3-octadecene, 4-octen-3-one, acetic acid, azanonane, benzaldehyde, benzoic acid, chloroacetic acid, colchicine, heptadecanenitrile, hexadecanal, quercetin, and triacontane, which could be accountable for the improvement of organoleptic attributes and health benefits of the drinks. Meanwhile, the levels of certain undesirable metabolites such as 1-pentadecene, 2-bromopropionic acid, 8-heptadecene, formic acid, and propionic acid, which impart bitterness, rancidity, and unpleasant odor to the fermented drinks, were reduced considerably after LAB fermentation. This study is probably the first of its kind that highlights the application of P. acidilactici BD16 (alaD+) as a starter culture candidate for the production of functional buttermilk and soymilk.  相似文献

Quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) models used for prediction of property of untested chemicals can be utilized for prioritization plan of synthesis and experimental testing of new compounds. Validation of QSPR models plays a crucial role for judgment of the reliability of predictions of such models. In the QSPR literature, serious attention is now given to external validation for checking reliability of QSPR models, and predictive quality is in the most cases judged based on the quality of predictions of property of a single test set as reflected in one or more external validation metrics. Here, we have shown that a single QSPR model may show a variable degree of prediction quality as reflected in some variants of external validation metrics like Q2(F1), Q2(F2), Q2(F3), CCC, and r2(m) (all of which are differently modified forms of predicted variance, which theoretically may attain a maximum value of 1), depending on the test set composition and test set size. Thus, this report questions the appropriateness of the common practice of the "classic" approach of external validation based on a single test set and thereby derives a conclusion about predictive quality of a model on the basis of a particular validation metric. The present work further demonstrates that among the considered external validation metrics, r2(m) shows statistically significantly different numerical values from others among which CCC is the most optimistic or less stringent. Furthermore, at a given level of threshold value of acceptance for external validation metrics, r2(m) provides the most stringent criterion (especially with Δr2(m) at highest tolerated value of 0.2) of external validation, which may be adopted in the case of regulatory decision support processes.  相似文献

A polymeric silver(I) complex, bis(N-methylthiourea)silver(I) nitrate, {[Ag(Metu)2]NO3} n is prepared and its crystal structure is determined. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. In the structure, distorted AgS4 tetrahedra are linked through the sulfur atoms of the Metu ligand to form isolated infinite chains of the type [Ag(SR)2] n n+. The cationic chains are separated from each other by nitrate ions that do not coordinate to the metal ion. The chains are bridged via N-H...O hydrogen bonds involving the nitrate ions. The complex exhibits an Ag—Ag separation of ∼3.21 ? indicating the existence of significant argentophilic interactions. An upfield shift in the >C=S resonance of Metu in 13C NMR and downfield shift in the N-H resonance in 1H NMR are consistent with sulfur coordination to silver(I).  相似文献
