Although heme protein-based, amperometric nitric oxide (NO) biosensors have been well documented in previous studies, most have been conducted in anaerobic conditions. Herein we report a novel hemoglobin-based NO biosensor that is not only very sensitive but also usable in air. The heme protein was entrapped in a sodium montmorillonite film, which was immobilized at a pyrolytic graphite electrode surface. Film-entrapped hemoglobin can directly exchange electrons with the electrode, and this process has proven to favor the catalytic reduction of oxygen. In addition, NO induced a cathodic potential shift of the catalytic reduction peak of oxygen. This potential shift was proportional to the logarithm of NO concentration ranging from 4.0 × 10−11 to 5.0 × 10−6 mol/L. The detection limit has been estimated to be 20 pM, approximately four orders lower than previously reported amperometric detectors. 相似文献

High‐Ni layered oxides are promising next‐generation cathodes for lithium‐ion batteries owing to their high capacity and lower cost. However, as the Ni content increases over 70 %, they have a high dynamic affinity towards moisture and CO2 in ambient air, primarily reacting to form LiOH, Li2CO3, and LiHCO3 on the surface, which is commonly termed “residual lithium”. Air exposure occurs after synthesis as it is common practice to handle and store them under ambient conditions. The air exposure leads to significant performance losses, and hampers the electrode fabrication, impeding their practical viability. Herein, we show that substituting a small amount of Al for Ni in the crystal lattice notably improves the chemical stability against air by limiting the formation of LiOH, Li2CO3, LiHCO3, and NiO in the near‐surface region. The Al‐doped high‐Ni oxides display a high capacity retention with excellent rate capability and cycling stability after being exposed to air for 30 days. 相似文献

Abstract— Resonance-enhanced coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectra (CARS) are reported for monomers and for trimers with and without linker proteins of allophycocyanin isolated from Mastigocladus laminosus. The CARS spectrum of the monomer is independent of the presence of linker proteins and is very similar to that of phycocyanin monomers indicating that the equivalent chromophores exhibit like structures in both biliproteins. Large differences are, however, observed between the spectra of phycocyanin trimers and those of allophycocyanin trimers with or without linker proteins (Lc 8,9 ). The observed differences between monomer and trimer spectra are consistent with a change of the α-chromophore-protein arrangement upon aggregation without linker. If linker proteins are present in the trimer, then additional geometry changes of the β-chromophores are induced; these could relate to a transition from the 15Z- anti to 15Z- syn conformation. 相似文献

Several recent international comparison studies used a relatively novel experimental design to evaluate the measurement capabilities
of participating organizations. These studies compared the values assigned by each participant to one or more qualitatively
similar materials with measurements made on all of the materials by one laboratory under repeatability conditions. A statistical
model was then established relating the values to the repeatability measurements; the extent of agreement between the assigned
value(s) and the consensus model reflected the participants’ measurement capabilities. Since each participant used their own
supplies, equipment, and methods to produce and value-assign their material(s), the agreement between the assigned value(s)
and the model was a fairer reflection of their intrinsic capabilities than provided by studies that directly compared time-
and material-constrained measurements on unknown samples prepared elsewhere. A new statistical procedure is presented for
the analysis of such data. The procedure incorporates several novel concepts, most importantly a leave-one-out strategy for
the estimation of the consensus value of the measurand, model fitting via Bayesian posterior probabilities, and posterior
coverage probability calculation for the assigned 95% uncertainty intervals. The benefits of the new procedure are illustrated

The main objective of the reference materials for biofuel specifications (BIOREMA) project is the development of two test materials (one bio-ethanol material and one biodiesel material) with well-established reference values. Of a series of three papers, this part describes the material preparation, homogeneity study, stability study, and characterisation of the bio-ethanol material. The test material thus obtained was used in an interlaboratory comparison (ILC) to assess current practices and comparability amongst laboratories providing bio-ethanol testing services. Only 13 participants provided data, resulting in a small dataset for evaluation. Further, it appeared that for a number of laboratories, there was not sufficient material for the determination of all requested parameters. In most cases, as far as the data permit, it can be concluded that the consensus values (based on participant’s results) are in good agreement with the reference or the BIOREMA values (obtained by NMIs participating in the project). For three parameters, namely ethanol content, water content, and density, there is good agreement between the reference and consensus values. For these parameters, the reproducibility standard deviation is close to, or even smaller than, the expanded uncertainty associated with the reference value. A number of parameters show very poor reproducibility, for example, pHe, electrolytic conductivity, and acidity. The same applies to sodium and copper content, which are very low and therefore challenging parameters to measure accurately. The results of the ILC underpin the need for certified reference materials and demonstrate the requirement for more robust quality control to improve the precision and trueness of the results from testing laboratories. 相似文献

A simple and efficient procedure for the synthesis of a new class of organoselenium liquid crystal compounds was developed. The coupling of aryl bromides with elemental selenium was catalysed using copper oxide nanopowder in the presence of potassium hydroxide employing dimethyl sulfoxide as the solvent. This is the first report of the synthesis and characterisation of liquid crystal-based diselenides. Their mesophases were characterised by polarising optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Compounds 1, 2 and 4b exhibited the smectic A phase. In addition, these compounds showed weak blue fluorescence in solution (λmax. em. 350–405 nm) and a Stokes shift of around 90 nm. 相似文献
