The SO(2)-binding properties of a series of η(6),η(1)-NCN-pincer ruthenium platinum complexes (NCN = 2,6-bis[(dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl anion) have been studied by both UV-visible spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. When an electron-withdrawing [Ru(C(5)R(5))](+) fragment (R = H or Me) is η(6)-coordinated to the phenyl ring of the NCN-pincer platinum fragment (cf. [2](+) and [3](+), see Scheme 1), the characteristic orange coloration (pointing to η(1)- SO(2) binding to Pt) of a solution of the parent NCN-pincer platinum complex 1 in dichloromethane upon SO(2)-bubbling is not observed. However, when the ruthenium center is η(6)-coordinated to a phenyl substituent linked in para-position to the carbon-to-platinum bond, i.e. complex [4](+), the SO(2)-binding property of the NCN-platinum center seems to be retained, as bubbling SO(2) into a solution of the latter complex produces the characteristic orange color. We performed theoretical calculations at the MP2 level of approximation and TD-DFT studies, which enabled us to interpret the absence of color change in the case of [2](+) as an absence of coordination of SO(2) to platinum. We analyze this absence or weaker SO(2)-coordination in dichloromethane to be a consequence of the relative electron-poorness of the platinum center in the respective η(6)-ruthenium coordinated NCN-pincer platinum complexes, that leads to a lower binding energy and an elongated calculated Pt-S bond distance. We also discuss the effects of electrostatic interactions in these cationic systems, which also seems to play a destabilizing role for complex [2(SO(2))](+).  相似文献

We report a comprehensive investigation of the electronically excited states of helium clusters and droplets of sizes ranging from a few to several 10(7) atoms using time-resolved fluorescence excitation spectroscopy and quantum chemical ab initio calculations. We employ various approaches for our analysis considering the lifetime-dependence of the fluorescence intensity, spectral shifts, intensity scaling with cluster size, isotopic dependence, and density-dependence of the calculated electron wave function radii. A unique feature of helium clusters and droplets is their radially varying particle density. Our results show that short-lived fluorescence is sensitive to regions of increased density and probes excitations located in the bulk volume, whereas long-lived fluorescence is sensitive to regions of reduced density such as for small clusters or for the surface of large droplets. Spectra of (3)He droplets serve as a reference for low density, but are free from contributions of small clusters. This allows us to distinguish regions of reduced density as these can be due to both surface states or small clusters. Our analysis reveals a picture where spectral features are related to regions of different density due to isotopic composition, cluster size, and surface or bulk volume location of the excitations. The 2s and 2p related excitations appear as blue-shifted wings for small clusters or for excited atoms within the surface layer, whereas in the bulk-volume of large droplets, they appear as distinct bands with large intensities, dominating the entire spectrum. Excitations at energies higher than 23 eV are unambiguously assigned to regions of low and medium density location within the deeper parts of the surface layer but show no relation to the bulk volume. Our findings support the idea that in liquid helium high-lying states and, in particular, Rydberg states are quenched in favor of the 2s and 2p excitations.  相似文献

The direct metalation of tetraphenylporphyrin with bare metal atoms (Co and Zn) was studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, and temperature-programmed reaction measurements on ordered monolayer films of the molecules adsorbed on a Ag(111) surface. The mechanism of this novel type of surface reaction was investigated using density functional theory (DFT) calculations for the related gas-phase reactions of the unsubstituted porphyrin with the metals Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn. The reaction starts with the formation of an initial complex, in which the metal atom is coordinated by the intact unreduced porphyrin. This complex resembles the sitting-atop complex proposed for porphyrin metalation with metal ions in solution. In two subsequent steps, the pyrrolic hydrogen atoms are transferred to the metal atom, forming H2, which is eventually released. The activation barriers of the H-transfer steps vary for the different metal atoms. DFT calculations suggest that metalations with Fe, Co, and Ni show two-state reactivity, while those with Cu and Zn proceed on a single potential energy surface. For metalation with Zn, we calculated a barrier of the first hydrogen transfer step of 32.6 kcal mol(-1), in good agreement with the overall experimental activation energy of 31 kcal mol(-1).  相似文献

A method for the region‐selective deposition of nanoparticles (NPs) by the Huisgen 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition is presented. The approach enables defined stacking of various oxide NPs in any order with control over layer thickness. Thereby the reaction is performed between a substrate, functionalized with a self‐assembled monolayer of an azide‐bearing phosphonic acid (PA) and aluminum oxide (AlOx) NPs functionalized with an alkyne bearing PA. The layer of alkyne functionalized AlOx NPs is then used as substrate for the deposition of azide‐functionalized indium tin oxide (ITO) NPs to provide a binary stack. This progression is then conducted with alkyne‐functionalized CeO2 NPs, yielding a ternary stack of NPs with three different NP cores. The stacks are characterized by AFM and SEM, defining the region‐selectivity of the deposition technique. Finally, these assemblies have been tested in devices as a dielectric to form a capacitor resulting in a dramatic increase in the measured capacitance.  相似文献

1-Phenyl-3-methylpyrazol-2-in-5-thione, crystallised from methanol, was shown to exist in the tautomeric NH-form, stabilised by intermolecular NHS hydrogen bonds. In solutions, however, the molecule is found predominantly as the SH-tautomer, accompanied (in low-polar solvents) by a small amount of the CH-tautomer.

1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazol-2-in-5-thione occurs in the crystal as well as in solution in the SH-tautomeric form, stabilised by an intramolecular SHO bridge. In dimethylsulfoxide solution indications were found for an additional SH-tautomer in a conformation lacking the intramolecular H-bridge.

The structure of 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazol-2-in-5-one was redetermined by X-ray single crystal diffraction at 120°K in order to obtain more accurate geometry and hydrogen bonding parameters.  相似文献
