Hydrothermal synthesis of ZnO microspheres and hexagonal microrods with sheetlike and platelike nanostructures 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Unusual ZnO microspheres constructed of interconnected sheetlike nanostructures were prepared by the hydrothermal synthesis approach. These microspheres possess high surface areas (28.9 m(2)/g) and are amorphous. Trisodium citrate plays a key role in directing the formation of these microstructures. By increasing the reaction time, these microspheres gradually dissolved to form short hexagonal microrods with stacked nanoplate or nanosheet structure. The microrods were also formed under the influence of trisodium citrate. They are crystalline and show a strong (002) X-ray diffraction peak of wurtzite ZnO structure. Both microsphere and microrod samples show near-band-edge emission at approximately 385 nm, but only the microrod sample exhibits yellow luminescence at approximately 560 nm. Due to their high surface areas, these ZnO microstructures were examined for their ability to photodecompose phenol. The as-prepared samples did not display photocatalytic activity due to possible surface adsorption of solution species. However, microspheres with heat treatment to 300 degrees C can substantially enhance the photodecomposition of phenol under direct sunlight irradiation and still maintain their high surface area nanosheet structure. 相似文献

Careful gas chromatographic studies provide thermodynamic data for insights into solution processes in nonvolatile solvents. Using 24 solutes and five stationary phases, several entropy-enthalpy compensation effects in the thermodynamics of solution were identified. Despite solute structure differences, when excess enthalpy and entropy of solutions were examined, entropy-enthalpy compensation effects were found in solvents dominated by single types of interaction: squalane and, to some extent, methoxy poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO). The main reason for the absence of linearity in other solvents is pure solute state interactions in the reference state and the multicharacter nature of solvents. In this study, consideration of solute state interactions was removed through examination of the thermodynamics of transfer between solvent pairs. It was found that solute transfers from squalane to poly[methyl(trifluoropropyl)siloxane] (QF-1) and to poly(methylphenyl) (DC-550) also gave linear relationships. The former system contains a second correlation for ester type solutes. The transfer data for squalane to poly(methylsiloxane) (DC-200) had smaller ranges and were more scattered. The effects of derivatizing groups on the transfer enthalpy and entropy were treated as a summation of hydrocarbon cores with the derivative groups. The group properties of transfer then also show entropy-enthalpy compensation effects. Phytochemical investigation and chromatographic separation of extracts from the actinobacteria strain Saccharomonospora piscinae that was isolated from dried fishpond sediment of Kouhu township, in the south of Taiwan, led to the isolation of three new compounds, saccharpiscinols A–C (1–3, respectively), and three new natural products, namely (2S)-5,7,3′,4′-tetrahydroxy-6,8-dimethylflavanone (4), methyl-4-hydroxy-2-methoxy-6-methylbenzoate (5), and (±)-7-acetyl-4,8-dihydroxy-6-methyl-1-tetralone (6). Compounds 4–6 were reported before as synthesized products, herein, they are reported from nature for the first time. The structures of the new compounds were unambiguously elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data analysis (1D- and 2D-NMR, MS, and UV) and comparison with literature data. The effect of some isolates on the inhibition of NO production in lipopolysaccharide-activated RAW 264.7 murine macrophages was evaluated.
