A series of photochromic phosphotungstic acid (PWA)/SiO2 composites were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Depending on the feeding schedule of PWA during synthesis, the size of the formed PWA/SiO2 particles varied considerably from as small as 1.2 nm to ca. 10 nm. With decreasing silica particle size, the total contact area/interaction between SiO2 and PWA increases, as revealed by FT-IR and solid-state 29Si-NMR analyses. Particularly, when the size of PWA/SiO2 is ~1 nm, crystallization of PWA is inhibited, and PWA presents as amorphous molecular entities distributing uniformly in the SiO2 host, which is in evidence in the XRD spectroscopy and HR-TEM imaging. In contrast, substantial crystallization of PWA takes place when PWA/SiO2 particles are as large as 10 nm, in which case less amount of surface free Si-OH is available for PWA to make bonds with. Photochromism occurs activated by ultraviolet light irradiation. The rate of coloration/bleaching is found to depend strongly on the particle size of PWA/SiO2; specifically, the rate increases twice when the particle size is reduced from 10 nm to 1.2 nm.  相似文献

An acoustic impedance pump is comprised of a compressible section coupled at both ends to sections of different acoustic impedances. Liquid can be pumped from one end to another if the compressible section is actuated at certain locations. This paper presents an analytical model on the acoustic pumping effect in microchannels. A one-dimensional wave equation is developed for acoustic pressures in the compressible section, taking into account the actuations as acoustic source terms. The solution for the acoustic pressure is a set of standing waves established inside the compressible section, corresponding to the actuations. The pumping effect is attributed to the second-order terms of the acoustic pressures. Two control parameters are identified. One is the resonance frequency associated with the sound wave speed and length of the compressible section, and the other is the damping factor. The analytical results are compared with the experimental data, and a qualitative agreement is observed in terms of frequency characteristics of the pumping pressure.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider four common types of ruin probabilities for a discrete‐time multivariate risk model, where the insurer is assumed to be exposed to a vector of net losses resulting from a number of business lines over each period. By assuming a large initial capital for the risk model and regularly varying distributions for the net losses, we establish some interesting asymptotic estimates for ruin probabilities in terms of the upper tail dependence function of the net loss vector. Our results insightfully characterize how the dependence structure among the individual net losses affect the ruin probabilities in an asymptotic sense, and more importantly, from our main results, explicit asymptotic estimates for those ruin probabilities can be obtained via specifying a copula for the net loss vectors. It is widely accepted that the frictional pressure drop is impossible to be negative for pipe flow. However, the negative frictional pressure drops were observed for some cases of two-phase slug and churn flows in pipes, challenging the general sense of thermodynamic irreversibility. In order to solve this puzzling problem, theoretical investigations were performed for the entropy generation in slug and churn flows. It is found that the frictional pressure drop along with a buoyancy-like term contributes to the entropy generation due to mechanical energy loss for steady, incompressible slug and churn flows in vertical and inclined pipes. Experiments were conducted in a vertical pipe with diameter as 0.04 m for slug and churn flows. Most of the experimental data obtained for frictional pressure drop are negative at high gas–liquid ratios from 100 to 10,000. Entropy generation rates were calculated from experimental data. The results show that the buoyancy-like term is positive and responsible for a major part of entropy generation rate while the frictional pressure drop is responsible for a little part of entropy generation rate, because of which the overall entropy generation due to mechanical energy loss is still positive even if the frictional pressure drop is negative in vertical slug and churn flows. It is clear that the negative frictional pressure drops observed in slug and churn flows are not against the thermodynamics irreversibility.  相似文献

Polarized spectroscopic properties related to 1.07 μm laser operation of a 1.8 at.% Nd3+:LaBO2MoO4 crystal grown by the Czochralski method were investigated at room temperature. Using a 2.2-mm-thick, Z-cut Nd3+:LaBO2MoO4 crystal as gain medium, orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength laser at 1,068 and 1,074 nm was first realized in a plano-concave resonator end-pumped by a quasi-continuous-wave 795 nm diode laser. A total output peak power of 1.2 W with slope efficiency of 26 % around 1.07 μm was obtained. The influences of resonator length and pump power on output laser wavelength were also investigated.  相似文献

High-quality ZnO thin films were grown on a-plane sapphire substrates by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy reveal that the ZnO films have high structural quality and an atomically sharp ZnO/Al2O3 interface. The full width at half maximum values of the 0002 and $30\bar{3}2$ ZnO ω-rocking curves are 467.8 and 813.5 arc sec for a 600 nm thick ZnO film. A screw dislocation density of 4.35×108 cm?2 and an edge dislocation density of 3.38×109 cm?2 are estimated by X-ray diffraction. The surface of the ZnO epilayers contains hexagonal pits, which can be observed in the Zn-polar ZnO. The films have a resistivity of 0.119 Ω?cm, an electron concentration of 6.85×1017 cm?3, and a mobility of 76.5 cm2?V?1?s?1 at room temperature. Low temperature photoluminescence measurements show good optical properties comparable to ZnO single crystals.  相似文献

A multicone graph is defined to be the join of a clique and a regular graph. Based on Zhou and Cho’s result [B. Zhou, H.H. Cho, Remarks on spectral radius and Laplacian eigenvalues of a graph, Czech. Math. J. 55 (130) (2005), 781–790], the spectral characterization of multicone graphs is investigated. Particularly, we determine a necessary and sufficient condition for two multicone graphs to be cospectral graphs and investigate the structures of graphs cospectral to a multicone graph. Additionally, lower and upper bounds for the largest eigenvalue of a multicone graph are given.  相似文献

Using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations based on Gay-Berne potential model, we have simulated the cooling process of liquid n-butanol. A new set of GB parameters are obtained by fitting the results of density functional theory calculations. The simulations are carried out in the range of 290-50 K with temperature decrements of 10 K. The cooling char-acteristics are determined on the basis of the variations of the density, the potential energy and orientational order parameter with temperature, whose slopes all show discontinuity. Both the radial distribution function curves and the second-rank orientational correlationfunction curves exhibit splitting in the second peak. Using the discontinuous change of these thermodynamic and structure properties, we obtain the glass transition at an estimate of temperature Tg=120±10 K, which is in good agreement with experimental results 110±1 K.  相似文献

An asymmetric synthesis for the preparation of nonracemic amines bearing heterocyclic and heteroaromatic rings is described. A variety of important enantiopure thionyl and arylalkyl primary amines were afforded by the borane-mediated enantioselective reduction of O-benzyl ketoximes using 10% of catalyst 10 derived from ( S)-diphenylvalinol and ethylene glycol with excellent enantioselectivity, in up to 99% ee. The optimal condition for the first asymmetric reduction of 3- and 4-pyridyl-derived O-benzyl ketoxime ethers was achieved using 30% of catalytic loading in dioxane at 10 degrees C. ( S)- N-ethylnornicotine ( 3) was also successfully synthesized from the TIPS-protected ( S)-2-amino-2-pyridylethanol in 97% ee.  相似文献

Chemical homogeneous poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) surface with dot-like protrusion pattern was used to investigate the individual effect of surface microtopography on protein adsorption and subsequent biological responses. Fibrinogen (Fg) and fibronectin (Fn) were chosen as model proteins due to their effect on platelet and cell adhesion, respectively. Fg labeled with 125I and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) was used to study its adsorption on flat and patterned surfaces. Patterned surface has a 46% increase in the adsorption of Fg when compared with flat surface. However, the surface area of the patterned surface was only 8% larger than that of the flat surface. Therefore, the increase in the surface area was not the only factor responsible for the increase in protein adsorption. Clear fluorescent pattern was visualized on patterned surface, indicating that adsorbed Fg regularly distributed and adsorbed most on the flanks and valleys of the protrusions. Such distribution and local enrichment of Fg presumably caused the specific location of platelets adhered from platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and flowing whole blood (FWB) on patterned surface. Furthermore, the different combination of surface topography and pre-adsorbed Fn could influence the adhesion of L929 cells. The flat surface with pre-adsorbed Fn was the optimum substrate while the virgin patterned surface was the poor substrate in terms of L929 cells spread.  相似文献
