Transient optical Kerr effect of liquids C2H4Cl2 and C2H4Br2 is investigated, for the first time to our knowledge, with a femtosecond (fs) probe laser delayed with respect to a coherent fs pump laser. Coherent coupling and electronic Kerr signals are observed around zero delay when pump and probe overlap. Persisting after the pump-probe overlap are Kerr signals arising from the torsional and other intramolecular vibrations of the trans and gauche conformations; Kerr signals arising from the intermolecular motion are also observed. Vibrational quantum interference is only observed in liquid C2H4Br2 and the related beats data are fitted with the torsional vibrations, 91 cm−1 (gauche) and 132 cm−1 (trans), and the CCBr angle-bending vibrations, 231 cm−1 (gauche) and 190 cm−1 (trans), with dephasing times, 0.45 ps, 0.45 ps, 2 ps, and 1.5 ps, respectively. These vibrational frequencies agree with those obtained in the frequency-domain. That no vibrational mode is observed for C2H4Cl2 might be attributed to ineffective Raman-pumping. Kerr signals observed after the pump-probe overlap are Fourier transformed to give the spectra of the intermolecular motion and the vibrational spectrum, which agrees with the one observed in the infrared absorption and/or Raman scattering heretofore. 相似文献

As metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) devices are shrunk to the nanometer scale, flat shallow metal/Si electrical contacts must be formed in the source/drain region. This work demonstrates a method for the formation of epitaxial NiSi2 layers by a solid-phase reaction in Ni-P(8 nm)/Si(1 0 0) samples. The results show that the sheet resistance remained low when the samples were annealed at temperatures from 400 to 700 °C. P atoms can be regarded as diffusion barriers against the supply of Ni to the Si substrate, which caused the formation of Si-rich silicide (NiSi2) at low temperature. Furthermore, elemental P formed a stable capping layer with O, Ni and Si during the annealing process. A uniform NiSi2 layer with an atomically flat interface was formed by annealing at 700 °C because of the formation of a Si-Ni-P-O capping layer and a reduction in the total interface area. 相似文献

A detailed three-dimensional concurrent flame spread model is tested and compared with three sets of experiments. The parameters varied include: gravity, flow velocity, pressure, oxygen mole fraction, and sample width. In buoyant flows (normal and partial gravities), the computed steady spread rate and flame profiles agree favorably with experiment. The predicted extinction limits are lower but can be improved. Comparison in forced concurrent flow in microgravity shows correct trends. The predicted steady spread rates are lower than the experimental ones if the flames are short but higher than the experimental ones if the flames are long. It is believed that the experimental flames may not have fully reached steady state at the end of the 5-s microgravity drops. The magnetization under the spin-lattice relaxation and the nuclear magnetic resonance radiofrequency (RF) pulses is calculated for a signal RF pulse train and for a sequence of multiple RF pulse-trains. It is assumed that the transverse magnetization is zero when each RF pulse is applied. The result expressions can be grouped into two terms: a decay term, which is proportional to the initial magnetization M0, and a recovery term, which has no M0 dependence but strongly depends on the spin-lattice relaxation and the equilibrium magnetization Meq. In magnetic resonance pulse sequences using magnetization in transient state, the recovery term produces artifacts and can seriously degrade the function of the preparation sequence for slice selection, contrast weighting, phase encoding, etc. This work shows that the detrimental effect can be removed by signal averaging in an eliminative fashion. A novel fast data acquisition method for constructing the spin-lattice relaxation (T1) map is introduced. The method has two features: (i) By using eliminative averaging, the curve to fit the T1 value is a decay exponential function rather than a recovery one as in conventional techniques; therefore, the measurement of Meq is not required and the result is less susceptible to the accuracy of the inversion RF pulse. (ii) The decay exponential curve is sampled by using a sequence of multiple pulse-trains. An image is reconstructed from each train and represents a sample point of the curve. Hence a single imaging sequence can yield multiple sample points needed for fitting the T1 value in contrast to conventional techniques that require repeating the imaging sequence for various delay values but obtain only one sample point from each repetition. 相似文献

Electroluminescence (EL) performance of flexible organic light-emitting device (FOLED) has been found to be highly dependent upon the morphology of the surface of the indium thin oxide (ITO)/plastic substrate as well as the patterning and processing conditions of the substrate. We will present evidence showing that luminance efficiency of FOLED can be greatly improved by pretreatment. Surface analysis of the ITO/PET by means of atomic force microscope (AFM) and optical microscope will be compared with that of the ITO/glass and the influence of flexible OLEDs substrate treatment by various methods on EL performance will also be discussed. 相似文献

Employing resonant x-ray diffraction, we observed unique pitch evolutions in the smectic-C*(alpha) phase in mixtures of two antiferroelectric liquid crystals. Our results show that the pitch in this phase continuously evolves across 4 layers, contradicting a theoretical model that predicts that the smectic-C*(FI2) phase intervenes in the smectic-C*(alpha) phase. Gold nanoparticles were prepared by two different methods. The first method was chemically grafting the particles with different lengths of alkylthiol (C6SH, C12SH and C18SH). For the second method, the Au particles were surface modified first by mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) to render a surface with carboxylic acid groups which play a role to physically adsorb cationic surfactant in chloroform. This method was termed physical/chemical method. In the first method, the effects of alkyl chain length and dispersion solvent on the monolayer behavior of surface modified gold nanoparticles was evaluated. The gold nanoparticles prepared by 1-hexanthiol demonstrated the narrowest size distribution. Most of them showed narrower particle size distributions in chloroform than in hexane. For the physical/chemical method, the particles can spread more uniformly on the water surface which is attributed to the amphiphilic character of the particles at the air/water interface. However, the particles cannot pack closely due to the relatively weak particle-particle interaction. The effect of alkyl chain length was also assessed for the second method. 相似文献
