Effect of particle size of activated clay on the adsorption of paraquat from aqueous solution 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
This paper describes the effect of particle size on the process of paraquat adsorption from aqueous solution onto an activated clay surface at 25 degrees C and initial pH 11.0. Measurements of the pore properties of the clay adsorbents with three different particle sizes (0.053-0.074 mm, 0.037-0.053 mm, and <0.037 mm) were carried out. The rates and isotherms of adsorption have been also investigated by batch methods under the controlled conditions. From the experimental results obtained, the adsorption process can be well described with the pseudo-second order model and Freundlich model for adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm, respectively. In addition, the effect of the particle size of the clay adsorbent on the adsorption kinetics was found to be of considerable significance; namely, the rate constant (k) of paraquat adsorption by the clay adsorbent decreased with increasing particle size. It was concluded that the pore properties (i.e., surface area and total pore volume) and particle size of the clay adsorbent played a significant role in determining adsorption capacity and adsorption rate, respectively. 相似文献

This work presents a method to separate polar naphthalenesulfonate (NS) isomers by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) with ultraviolet detection in industrial effluents and river water samples. The method involves extraction of samples by a polystyrene‐divinylbenzene copolymer (PS‐DVB) solid‐phase extraction (SPE) cartridge. The most effective CZE separation conditions were obtained in 20 mM borate buffer with 30% acetonitrile at pH 9.0 and 30 °C. The method proposed herein provides a high precision and sensitivity for NS isomers, to quantitation at ≤ 1.0 μg/L in 200 mL of the water samples. Recovery of the NS isomers in spiked water samples ranged from 73% to 87% while RSD ranging from 5.6 to 9.7%. The analysis of industrial effluents and river water samples was performed and naphthalene‐2‐sulfonate was found as a major pollutant. The difficulties in quantitating and identifying analytes in complex environmental samples can be resolved by using an internal standard response factor to calculate concentrations and relative migration times for peak confirmation. 相似文献

Two β‐cyano‐thiophenevinylene‐based polymers containing cyclopentadithiophene ( CPDT‐CN ) and dithienosilole ( DTS‐CN ) units were synthesized via Stille coupling reaction with Pd(PPh3)4 as a catalyst. The effects of the bridged atoms (C and Si) and cyano‐vinylene groups on their thermal, optical, electrochemical, charge transporting, and photovoltaic properties were investigated. Both polymers possessed the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels of about ?5.30 eV and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) levels of about ?3.60 eV, and covered broad absorption ranges with narrow optical band gaps (ca. 1.6 eV). The bulk heterojunction polymer solar cell (PSC) devices containing an active layer of electron‐donor polymers ( CPDT‐CN and DTS‐CN ) blended with an electron‐acceptor, that is, [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) or [6,6]‐phenyl‐C71‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM), in different weight ratios were explored under 100 mW/cm2 of AM 1.5 white‐light illumination. The PSC device based on DTS‐CN: PC71BM (1:2 w/w) exhibited a best power conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 2.25% with Voc = 0.74 V, Jsc = 8.39 mA/cm2, and FF = 0.36. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A structural study of ligand exchange on chalcogen‐passivated copper nanoclusters is far less developed. Herein, we report the synthesis of polyhydrido copper nanoclusters [Cu20H11{Se2P(O iBu)2}9] ( 2 ) passivated by Se‐donor ligands via ligand replacement reaction on [Cu20H11{S2P(O iPr)2}9] ( 1 ) with NH4[Se2P(O iBu)2]. In parallel to the synthesis of 2 , cluster [Cu20H11{S2P(CH2CH2Ph)2}9] ( 4 ) was produced by the ligand exchange reaction on a new derivative of 1 , that is [Cu20H11{S2P(O nPr)2}9] ( 3 ). Solid state structures of both clusters 2 and 4 were unequivocally established by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies and cluster 4 epitomizes exceptional case to preserve both the shape and size of the nanocluster during the course of ligand exchange. Structurally precise cluster 2 is the second example where the copper hydride nanocluster is stabilized by Se‐donor ligands. The anatomy of 2 can be visualized as a twisted cuboctahedral Cu13 core, two triangular faces of which are capped by a Cu6 cupola and a single Cu atom along the C3 rotational axis. 相似文献

Rapid solvent‐free microwave‐assisted headspace solid‐phase microextraction (MA‐HS‐SPME) coupled with gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) was developed to determine synthetic polycyclic and nitro‐aromatic musks in fish samples. Four commonly used synthetic musks, galaxolide (HHCB), tonalide (AHTN), musk xylene (MX) and musk ketone (MK) were employed in the method development and validation. The parameters (microwave irradiation time, irradiation power, amount of water addition, pH value and addition of NaCl) affecting the extraction efficiency of analytes from fish slurry were systematically investigated and optimized. The best extraction conditions were achieved when the fish sample 2‐g mixed with 4‐mL methanol and 15‐mL deionized water (containing 4 g of NaCl, pH 2.0 in a 40‐mL sample‐vial) was microwave irradiated at 80 watt for 5 min. The limits of quantification (LOQ) were 0.4 to 1.2 ng/g in 2‐g of wet tissue. The precision for these analytes, as indicated by relative standard deviations, were less than 9% for both intra‐ and inter‐day analysis. Accuracy, expressed as the mean extraction recovery, was between 80 to 92%. A standard addition method was used to quantitate these four synthetic musks, and the total concentrations ranged from 2.1 to 23.1 ng/g in various fish samples. 相似文献

Herein, we report a “threading followed by shrinking” approach for the synthesis of rotaxanes by using an “oxygen‐deficient” macrocycle that contained two arylmethyl sulfone units and the dumbbell‐shaped salt bis(3,5‐dimethylbenzyl)ammonium tetrakis(3,5‐trifluoromethylphenyl)borate as the host and guest components, respectively. The extrusion of SO2 from both of the arylmethyl sulfone units of the macrocyclic component in the corresponding [2]pseudorotaxane resulted in a [2]rotaxane that was sufficiently stable to maintain its molecular integrity in CD3SOCD3 at 393 K for at least 5 h. 相似文献

The corrosion of printed circuit boards can be effectively prevented with a polyurethane conformal coating. In this study, the protective performance of PU coating was investigated systematically through electrochemical measurements and simulated exposure/immersion tests. Some fungi tests were also included. All experimental results show that a polyurethane coating effectively inhibits corrosion on printed circuit boards. The optimal thickness of the coating film should be about 60 μm. Long-term exposure tests showed that this coating material could preserve the reliability of the investigated printed circuit boards for more than 400 days in a 90% relative humidity environment at 25°C. 相似文献

The phase behavior and motional mobility in binary blends of poly(4‐methylstyrene) (P4MS) and poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate) (PCHMA) have been examined by 13C solid state NMR techniques. The blend miscibility was studied by measuring the 1H spin‐relaxation times in the laboratory frame (T1H) and in the rotating frame (T1ρH), respectively. Although intermolecular spin diffusion contributes to the proton relaxations in accordance with homogeneity, T1ρH data shows signs of in complete averaging. The T1ρH relaxation behavior indicates the existence of heterogeneous do mains with shortest dimensions in the nanometer range, which is also sup ported by the intermolecular cross polarization experiments with variable contact times. In addition, according to the resuits of carbon T1ρ relaxation time measurements, it is concluded that mixing is intimate some what enough to cause a reduction in local chain mobility for P4MS and vice versa for PCHMA. 相似文献

We report pentacene‐based organic field‐effect transistor memory devices utilizing supramolecular electrets, consisting of a polyimide, PI(6FOH‐ODPA), containing hydroxyl groups for hydrogen bonding with amine functionalized aromatic rings (AM) of 1‐aniline (AM1), 2‐naphthylamine (AM2), 2‐aminoanthracene (AM3), and 1‐aminopyrene (AM4). The effect of the phenyl ring size and composition of AM1–AM4 on the hole‐trapping capability of the fabricated devices was investigated systematically. Under an operating voltage under ±40 V, the prepared devices using the electrets of 100 % AM1–AM4/PI ratios exhibited a memory window of 0, 8.59, 25.97, and 29.95 V, respectively, suggesting that the hole‐trapping capability increased with enhancing phenyl ring size. The memory window was enhanced as the amount of AM in PI increased. Furthermore, the devices showed a long charge‐retention time of 104 s with an ON/OFF current ratio of around 103–104 and multiple switching stability over 100 cycles. This study demonstrated that the electrical characteristics of the OFET memory devices could be manipulated through the chemical compositions of the supramolecular electrets. 相似文献
