Femtosecond pump pulses are strongly attenuated in lithium niobate owing to two-photon absorption; the relevant nonlinear coefficient beta(p) ranges from approximately 3.5 cm/GW for lambda(p) = 388 nm to approximately 0.1 cm/GW for 514 nm. In collinear pump-probe experiments the probe transmission at the double pump wavelength 2lambda(p) = 776 nm is controlled by two different processes: A direct absorption process involving pump and probe photons (beta (r) = 0.9 cm/GW) leads to a pronounced short-duration transmission dip, whereas the probe absorption by pump-excited charge carriers results in a long-duration plateau. Coherent pump-probe interactions are of no importance. Hot-carrier relaxation occurs on the time scale of < or approximately equal to 0.1 ps.  相似文献

We propose all‐dielectric metasurfaces that can be actively re‐configured using the phase‐change material Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) alloy. With selectively controlled phase transitions on the composing GST elements, metasurfaces can be tailored to exhibit varied functionalities. Using phase‐change GST rod as the basic building block, we have modelled metamolecules with tunable optical response when phase change occurs on select constituent GST rods. Tunable gradient metasurfaces can be realized with variable supercell period consisting of different patterns of the GST rods in their amorphous and crystalline states. Simulation results indicate a range of functions can be delivered, including multilevel signal modulating, near‐field coupling of GST rods, and anomalous reflection angle controlling. This work opens up a new space in exploring active meta‐devices with broader applications that cannot be achieved in their passive counterparts with permanent properties once fabricated.

This study investigates ultra-thin potassium chloride (KCl) films on the Si(1 0 0)-2 × 1 surfaces at near room temperature. The atomic structure and growth mode of this ionic solid film on the covalent bonded semiconductor surface is examined by synchrotron radiation core level photoemission, scanning tunneling microscopy and ab initio calculations. The Si 2p, K 3p and Cl 2p core level spectra together indicate that adsorbed KCl molecules at submonolayer coverage partially dissociate and that KCl overlayers above one monolayer (ML) have similar features in the valance band density of states as those of the bulk KCl crystal. STM results reveal a novel c(4 × 4) structure at 1 ML coverage. Ab initio calculations show that a model that comprises a periodic pyramidal geometry is consistent with experimental results.  相似文献

Four-point impedance spectroscopy of solid materials systems is severely hampered by unavoidable voltage-divider effects associated with the reference electrodes. As demonstrated by test circuit studies and experiments with Pt/YSZ/Pt cells (with embedded silver reference electrodes), high impedance reference electrodes can produce distorted and erroneous impedance data. The relationships between these data and the sample properties (conductivity, dielectric constant) and instrument limitations (input impedance/capacitance) are derived. Successful four-point impedance measurements on conductive systems require large effective dielectric constants, which may be unattainable in bulk solids, but are often associated with internal interfaces.  相似文献

We present experimental demonstrations of spectral diversity filters with spherical beam volume holograms for multimodal multiplex spectroscopy. Major properties of filters under diffuse-light illumination are discussed. The comparisons of spectral diversity between the transmission geometry holograms and the reflection geometry holograms are also studied. The results show that there is a trade-off between the degree of the spatial coherence of the source and the spectral diversity of the filter. We also conclude that the reflection geometry holograms have better spectral diversity and less sensitivity to the spatial coherence of the source.  相似文献

Utilizing a sum rule in a spin-resolved photoelectron spectroscopic experiment with circularly polarized light, we show that the orbital moment in LaTiO3 is strongly reduced from its ionic value, both below and above the Ne el temperature. Using Ti L2,3 x-ray absorption spectroscopy as a local probe, we found that the crystal-field splitting in the t2g subshell is about 0.12-0.30 eV. This large splitting does not facilitate the formation of an orbital liquid.  相似文献

A tomographic diagnosis method was developed to systematically resolve the injection and acceleration processes of a monoenergetic electron beam in a laser-wakefield accelerator. It was found that all the monoenergetic electrons are injected at the same location in the plasma column and accelerated from 5 to 55 MeV energy in 200 microm distance. This is a direct measurement of the real acceleration gradient in a laser-wakefield accelerator, and the experimental data are consistent with the model of transverse wave breaking and beam loading for monoenergetic electron injection.  相似文献

Nanosized ZnOs were synthesized on the surface of α brass coated a film of nickel catalyst at 500-700 °C under atmosphere of O2 and CH4 gases. The nanosized ZnOs have shapes including pillar, leaf, sheet and rod, which were determined by the synthesis temperature and the flow rates of O2 and CH4 gases. The nanosized ZnOs were characterized by electron microscopy including transmission electron microscope for crystal structure, morphology and high resolution images, both field emission scanning electron microscope and scanning electron microscope for morphology, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope equipped in electron microscope for chemical composition. A mechanism was proposed for the growth of nanosized ZnO obtained in this work.  相似文献

We report on band-dependent quasiparticle dynamics in the hole-doped Ba-122 pnictides measured by ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy. In the superconducting state of the optimal and over hole-doped samples, we observe two distinct relaxation processes: a fast component whose decay rate increases linearly with excitation density and a slow component whose relaxation is independent of excitation strength. We argue that these two components reflect the recombination of quasiparticles in the two hole bands through intraband and interband processes. We also find that the thermal recombination rate of quasiparticles increases quadratically with temperature in all samples. The temperature and excitation density dependence of the decays indicates fully gapped hole bands and nodal or very anisotropic electron bands.  相似文献
