The reaction of propionyl radical with oxygen has been studied using the full coupled cluster theory with the complete basis set. This is the first time to gain a conclusive insight into the reaction mechanism and kinetics for this important reaction in detail. The reaction takes place via a chemical activation mechanism. The barrierless association of propionyl with oxygen produces the propionylperoxy radical, which decomposes to form the hydroxyl radical and the three-center alpha-lactone predominantly or the four-center beta-propiolactone. The oxidation of propionyl radical to carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide is not straightforward rather via the secondary decomposition of alpha-lactone and beta-propiolactone. Kinetically, the overall rate constant is almost pressure independent and it approaches the high-pressure limit around tens of torr of helium. At temperatures below 600 K, the rate constant shows negative temperature dependence. The experimental yields of the hydroxyl radical can be well reproduced, with the average energy transferred per collision -DeltaE=20-25 cm(-1) at 213 and 295 K (helium bath gas). At low pressures, together with the hydroxy radical, alpha-lactone is the major product, while beta-propiolactone only accounts for about one-fifth of alpha-lactone. At the high-pressure limit, the production of the propionylperoxy radical is dominant together with a fraction of the isomers. The infrared spectroscopy or the mass spectroscopy techniques are suggested to be employed in the future experimental study of the C2H5CO+O2 reaction.  相似文献

The water splitting reaction based on the promising TiO(2) photocatalyst is one of the fundamental processes that bears significant implication in hydrogen energy technology and has been extensively studied. However, a long-standing puzzling question in understanding the reaction sequence of the water splitting is whether the initial reaction step is a photocatalytic process and how it happens. Here, using the low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) performed at 80 K, we observed the dissociation of individually adsorbed water molecules at the 5-fold coordinated Ti (Ti(5c)) sites of the reduced TiO(2) (110)-1 × 1 surface under the irradiation of UV lights with the wavelength shorter than 400 nm, or to say its energy larger than the band gap of 3.1 eV for the rutile TiO(2). This finding thus clearly suggests the involvement of a photocatalytic dissociation process that produces two kinds of hydroxyl species. One is always present at the adjacent bridging oxygen sites, that is, OH(br), and the other either occurs as OH(t) at Ti(5c) sites away from the original ones or even desorbs from the surface. In comparison, the tip-induced dissociation of the water can only produce OH(t) or oxygen adatoms exactly at the original Ti(5c) sites, without the trace of OH(br). Such a difference clearly indicates that the photocatalytic dissociation of the water undergoes a process that differs significantly from the attachment of electrons injected by the tip. Our results imply that the initial step of the water dissociation under the UV light irradiation may not be reduced by the electrons, but most likely oxidized by the holes generated by the photons.  相似文献

A highly sensitive electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) method for the determination of riboflavin was developed based on the enhancement of ECL intensity of lucigenin at room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) modified gold electrode. RTILs modified gold electrode exhibited excellent electrochemical and ECL property to lucigenin system and the ECL intensity of lucigenin was greatly enhanced by riboflavin. The characterization of the RTILs modified electrode and the attractive performance of the sensitive ECL method for the determination of riboflavin were investigated. Under the optimized conditions, the ECL intensity was directly proportional to the concentration of riboflavin in the range from 5.0×10(-10) g/mL to 1.0×10(-8)g/mL with the detection limit of 1×10(-10) g/mL. The method has been applied to the determination of riboflavin in the pharmaceutical preparations with satisfactory recovery from 96% to 101%. This work demonstrates that the incorporation of ECL method with RTILs modified electrode is a promising strategy for the determination of organic compounds with high sensitivity and good reproducibility.  相似文献

Many enzymes catalyzing biological redox chemistry depend on the omnipresent cofactor, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). NAD is also involved in various nonredox processes. It remains challenging to disconnect one particular NAD-dependent reaction from all others. Here we present a bioorthogonal system that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of l-malate with a dedicated abiotic cofactor, nicotinamide flucytosine dinucleotide (NFCD). By screening the multisite saturated mutagenesis libraries of the NAD-dependent malic enzyme (ME), we identified the mutant ME-L310R/Q401C, which showed excellent activity with NFCD, yet marginal activity with NAD. We found that another synthetic cofactor, nicotinamide cytosine dinucleotide (NCD), also displayed similar activity with the ME mutants. Inspired by these observations, we mutated d-lactate dehydrogenase (DLDH) and malate dehydrogenase (MDH) to DLDH-V152R and MDH-L6R, respectively, and both mutants showed fully active with NFCD. When coupled with DLDH-V152R, ME-L310R/Q401C required only a catalytic amount of NFCD to convert l-malate. Our results opened the window to engineer bioorthogonal redox systems for a wide variety of applications in systems biology and synthetic biology.  相似文献

Nanoscaled coordination polymers based on biologically prevalent ions have potential applications in drug delivery and biomedical imaging. Herein, coordination polymer nanoparticles of anionic porphyrins, including meso‐tetra(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐porphyrin (H2TCPP4?) and meso‐tetra(4‐sulfonatophenyl)‐porphyrin (H2TPPS4?), and alkaline or alkaline earth metal cations, such as K+ and Ca2+, were constructed in aqueous solution in the presence of cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) or cucurbit[8]uril (CB8). UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were applied to explore the assembly and particle formation of porphyrin anions and metal cations mediated by CBn. The particle size depends on the kinds of CBn and metal cations and their concentrations. The uptake of H2TPPS4? particles by tumor cells (A549 cells) was found to be more efficient than H2TPPS4? at 37 °C, showing the application potential of such assembled particles in biology and medicine.  相似文献

Hollow fiber supported liquid membrane extraction (HF-SLME) was used to separate and enrich trace lead from a large volume of 250 mL water sample to a final tiny volume of 30 μL of 1-octanol, 5 μL of which was inject into a tungsten coil electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometer (W-coil ET-AAS) for determination of lead. Some important parameters that influenced the extraction and determination were investigated in detail, such as the concentration of ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC), pH of sample solution, stirring rate, extraction time, pyrolysis current, atomization current, carrier gas flow rate, as well as interferences. Under the optimized conditions, a practical enrichment factor of 499 and a limit of detection (3σ) of 0.2 ng mL− 1 were obtained. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.5–10 ng mL− 1. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was 5.6% for five measurements of a 4 ng mL− 1 lead standard solution. The accuracy of this method was examined by the analysis of certified reference water samples (GBW(E)080398 and GSBZ(E) 50009-88) for lead. Finally, the proposed method was applied to the determination of lead in local tap water, pond water and river water, with recoveries in the range of 96–109% for spiked samples.  相似文献

Development of eco‐friendly, cost‐effective, and high‐performance electrocatalysts to replace precious metal platinum for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) has received increasing attention. Herein, we adopt a facile one‐pot strategy to embed Cu nanoparticles onto N‐doped carbon‐graphene (Cu@NC‐700). The Cu@NC‐700 exhibits robust and efficient ORR catalysis with positive half‐wave potential (~0.86 V vs. RHE) and low Tafel slope (33.9 mV?dec–1) in 0.1 M KOH solution. Meanwhile, it manifests remarkable electrochemical stability, and strong tolerance to methanol crossover and carbon monoxide poisoning. The synergistic effect between Cu‐N‐C sites, Cu nanoparticles, and N‐doped carbon support speeds up ORR electrocatalysis.  相似文献
